Is coming back very soon! I'm guessing in the next 2-3 weeks.

Who's excited?! I've read all the books and can't wait for the new series.

OP posts:

Presumably George has a snazzy London pad so plenty of room for the family but Ross will be in digs somewhere so D & the children wouldn't have room?

Do you think George might turn out to be infertile?! I haven't read the books so just my guess!

CoraPirbright · 19/06/2018 10:56

Also the farm/house/estate would go to rack and ruin if Demelza wasn’t there to oversee it all. Couldn’t leave it to Prudie!!

Osbourne and the feet!! Envy

happymittens · 19/06/2018 21:38

"POLDARK! POLDARK OF NAMPARA!"

That did make me chuckle when Osborne said that 😂

OnlyonMN · 20/06/2018 07:16

Nothing about Osborne made me chuckle this week. Still recovering from his toe sucking/licking scene. Once you hear his tongue clicking, you can’t unhear it. Hope I recover.

Clionba · 20/06/2018 07:42

The actor that plays Ossie is good. What a revolting creep. In real life he's actually quite good looking!

Lollyb86 · 20/06/2018 07:47

The wrestling eye poking scene made me wince...hate any sign of eye gouging Grin
Glad we have got Hugh out of the way was worries it would be dragged on a bit. Interesting to look at the slight and sometimes big differences from the books. I'm still very much enjoying it

OnlyonMN · 20/06/2018 07:53

@Clionba - Yes I know. It’s amazing his transformation for the role. George though seems creepily similar in all his expressions in real life.

Clionba · 20/06/2018 16:19

@OnlyonMN - can you imagine making yourself ugly and having to act next to Aidan Turner??!!

eddielizzard · 20/06/2018 16:23

after you take out all the long scenes of actors staring wistfully / longingly / regretfully / hopefully into the sea / flames / distance there's only about 10 minutes of storyline. i find i can do a couple of other things at the same time and not miss anything.

the first season was excellent. this one is awfully spun out.

OnlyonMN · 20/06/2018 16:29

@Clio - I can make myself as ugly as you like with whoever, for the right price Grin, i'm yours.

Fevertree · 20/06/2018 16:32

I really enjoyed it and thought the same about Demelza and the kids not going, there would be no room. I am very sad for them though 😔

Tansie1 · 20/06/2018 20:07

We, DH and I shout 'horse!' And mime frantic violins at the wide shot of the crashing sea beyond the cliff path- as either Poldark or Demelza's horse goes flashing by Grin.

Love the lingering shots of Holywell, though, as that was 'my dad's beach', growing up in a Cornwall much removed from today's (b. 1933, Perranporth).

And wow, Christian Brassington is hot!

Tansie1 · 20/06/2018 20:12

Can I ask, does anyone remember the original Poldark series? It was me and my mum's thing, Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees?

1975?

I'll get my coat....

Clionba · 20/06/2018 20:28

@OnlyonMN - I've got £13.75 in loose change if that's enough?
@Tansie1 - I used to love that 70s series. I absolutely had a crush on Robin Ellis. Angharad Rees was a great Demelza... Dare I say better than Eleanor Tomlinson??

HettySunshine · 20/06/2018 21:30

Blimey! You'd never know would you?? I wonder how long he spends in make up!

woodhill · 20/06/2018 21:38

George is not infertile

Clionba · 20/06/2018 22:22

Also, Zachy Martin scrubs up well!

HettySunshine · 21/06/2018 11:25

Ah well woodhill, there goes my theory!

beguilingeyes · 22/06/2018 18:44

The 1970s series was fantastic. I much prefer it to the new one. So much of the humour is missing. The new R&D are so angst ridden all the time. Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees were perfect in the roles.

midlifeblues · 22/06/2018 19:52

Lol

Yes I liked the 70s series

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 24/06/2018 22:16

So what do we think is wrong with the new Baby sarah Enys??

staydazzling · 24/06/2018 23:07

Shes never left a pug incharge of her baby? Shock

xsquared · 24/06/2018 23:23

I hope the baby doesn’t die. Sad

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 25/06/2018 06:59

I really liked the episode last night - apart from the baby bit- I normally read book-based stuff before watching but am glad I haven't in this case as each episode/series is a surprise.

beguilingeyes · 25/06/2018 07:14

Why is Nampara such a slum? They're rich now. In the book Demelza didn't go to London yet because he partially goes to get away from her for a while. He's pissed off about Hugh.
