Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

OP posts:
Violetparis · 30/06/2018 15:03

I've watched Marcella, enjoyed it too, think it was the same writers. Not in the same league as The Bridge and not sure if Anna Friel was the best choice for the lead role.

Janus · 30/06/2018 16:25

Oh god, I love Saga! I too was saying ‘don’t answer the door Henrik, don’t let him in Henrik’ to the TV!! I also said ‘she had the key’ when he got shot as I’d totally forgotten. I was terrified Saga was going to jump from the bridge.
I hope Saga finds out what she wants to do and comes back to Henrik.
I also loved The Tunnel, the male detective in that stole my heart!

AGnu · 30/06/2018 19:06

The last phone call was probably Linn reminding her that she needed to pop in & return her badge... Grin

littletike · 30/06/2018 22:26

Just caught up and one thing bothering me... Why did the photo of the two girls in Frank's house look more like the two runaways than Astrid's younger photo? I was convinced there was going to be another twist and they would actually be his daughters and 'Astrid' would turn out to be playing one of her roles

jensner · 30/06/2018 22:30

Just caught up as I was out last night and I have a question. So, was Kevin/Brian pretending to the whole world, even his family, that he was still paralysed? Because he went to the birthday party at his mum's in the wheelchair. Surely that would be hard to fake, long term ...?

Great ending, though.

StripySocksAndDocs · 30/06/2018 22:33

I thought the picture was the runaways too. Though they couldn't have been his daughters because he'd have recognised them.

Must admit I did keep on hoping Anna would turn out not to be dead. Frank had just pretended she had (OK so I didn't really have a vakid reason why he'd do that. Maybe Anna has annoyed him.)

mizu · 30/06/2018 22:39

I loved that Saga kissed Henrik before she left.

ICouldBeSomebodyYouKnow · 30/06/2018 23:13

I assumed it was Henrik who made that last phone call to Saga. Anyone else think that?

PickAChew · 30/06/2018 23:42

That kiss was so tender.

I'm glad I bought a bottle of wine for tonight's viewing. Watched on iPlayer as couldn't watch last night and BBC isn't very prompt T getting it available on demand so watched last leg, then had an early-ish night, last night.

Advantage of iPlayer is pausing for trips to the fridge. Tried to explain saga to autistic 14yo and he was well impressed. After her final discussion with the psychologist I'm inclined to believe that she actually is aspirin, rather than traumatized, though she did go to great pains to explain Astrid's probable dissociative disorder - can't remember whether it was before or after that conversation. I can't bear a rewatch!

PickAChew · 30/06/2018 23:42

Aspirin?

PickAChew · 30/06/2018 23:48

Pp craving other stiluff, if you have access to all 4, check out Walter presents. Unlike BBC, they keep it up for a year. Of what's currently available on, can recommend Case and Blue Eyes. Also Rebecca Martinnsonn and eyewitness.

Been some great stuff in BBC but they only keep it available for a month.

WobblyLondoner · 01/07/2018 00:06

Oh goodness, just caught up. I was so worried something horrific would happen, especially when it all seemed so neatly wrapped up with 35 minutes to go! Beautifully acted, and so fantastic to see such a range of female characters, from Saga to Lilian to the loved up tecky woman.

Sniff. That scene in the last episode where Henrick meets Astrid after all those years was one of the most beautifully acted things I've ever scene. Just perfect.

AlecOrAlonzo · 01/07/2018 00:41

Just caught up.

Questions:

Who was Niels saying "stick to the plan" to?
Who was the guy who was shot at the desk?
Did Suzanne deliberately get a job with Margarethe?
How long were they planning this?
How did they meet?

Tortycat · 01/07/2018 01:44

Also just caught up. Loved the series (and the previous ones), esp Saga and Henrik.

Alec
I think neils was talking to Douglas (a private detective) who was the man shot at his desk. Was this as margarette was having an affair (what was she doing at the gay bar again?)?? Maybe he found something out which was why he was shot, though how would Kevin or Suzanne know that?

My questions/ thoughts...
It seems strange that Kevin would go from a supposedly nice boy into a psychopath capable of stoning an innocent woman to death etc. Even his grief surely wouldn't allow him to do that? Unless suzanne did it all until the last bit?

Why would he let Suzanne mix up his mum in it all? He was clearly still on good terms with his mum, and strange how he'd end up in cahoots with the wonan his dad was cheating on his mum with.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/07/2018 07:41

Even his grief surely wouldn't allow him to do that? Unless suzanne did it all until the last bit? Didn't Suzanne say in the police interview "six out of seven" as if she'd done all but the last (Henrik) which at that point was still to come?

Agree about Kevin letting down his mum. Suspect though that she was collateral damage. Maybe Kevin felt usurped by the new family his mother had made. Vulnerable and therefore susceptible to Suzanne's inciting him to revenge?

The underlying message seemed to be that she would go back to Henrik, so maybe to policing to. I guess she was off to 'find herself' free of the guilt that had constrained her all her adult life.

Violetparis · 01/07/2018 12:25

Thanks for recommendations PickAChew

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/07/2018 12:29

Hidden currently showing on BBC Wales (and available on IPlayer) is very watchable too.

DaffoDeffo · 01/07/2018 12:40

Hidden is also on BBC4 on a Saturday night at 9

It is very dark!

Violetparis · 01/07/2018 13:06

Will look for Hidden too Smile

AnyFucker · 01/07/2018 13:10

I have started watching Hidden too

FiestaThenSiesta · 01/07/2018 13:48

I think the last phone call was something about what’s next. She drives off with nowhere to live and doesn’t know where she’s driving to? That’s not Saga. At very least, she had somewhere in mind and that was the hotel confirming her booking or agency confirming her cabin rental somewhere lovely and secluded by a lake where she can think about what’s next.

FiestaThenSiesta · 01/07/2018 13:53

I caught Hidden on the tv the other month and subtitles happen to be on already. I sat and watched a few minutes (not knowing what it was) thinking I was watching a new Scandi series when they start interjecting lots of English words into their Swedish. Next scene, everyone is speaking English. Husband couldn’t stop laughing that I mistook Welsh for Swedish (though conceded the particular scene didn’t have the dead-give away Welsh sounds)

YellowLaceChestnutMuff · 01/07/2018 14:38

How much of Saga do you think is in Eleanor Oliphant?

SirVixofVixHall · 01/07/2018 15:33

Watching Hidden here too.

ToffeeUp · 01/07/2018 16:43

I am watching Hidden too
