Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

But Henrik won't kill Frank - for one thing, that would be a repeat of Martin's actions, but one daughter died of natural causes (although she was clearly neglected, as Frank was avoiding hospitals) and the other daughter lived. If he killed Frank, he'd go to prison and his daughter would be lost to him again.

But yes, Frank needs his comeuppance!

HermioneWeasley · 23/06/2018 20:26

OMG that was so tense, I don’t think I’ll survive the final episode.

I cried when Henrik and Astrid were reunited

HollowTalk · 23/06/2018 21:02

Me too - and it was a real Railway Children moment, too!

StripySocksAndDocs · 23/06/2018 21:30

Manage to watch it!!

The head thing. How does on order and get delivered a basket of flowers with a severed been dead a while head in it? Usually a person's involvement is just ordering. To put the head in they'd have had to have intervened between flower arrangement and delivery boy collecting. (also it'd be very heavy wouldnt it?)

I've no clue still. Other than it'll be something randomly said them it'll all click into place for Saga.

Henrick telling Kevin his daughter was home was dangerous. Don't think it's Kevin (well 90% don't) but he might mention it to granny.

HollowTalk · 23/06/2018 21:38

But would the granny be capable of all this?

StripySocksAndDocs · 23/06/2018 21:43

No. But her knowing things seems to be a issue.

HollowTalk · 23/06/2018 21:55

I think it can't be just one person, though at the hanging there seemed to be only one person, and it was a person who wanted to keep Henrik alive. I'm wondering about a police officer who knows him.

Then the person has to be incredibly strong and also powerful (digging the grave.) It has to be someone with contacts and/or money.

I'm wondering about Linn. One hour to the end of the four series and she's telling us she no longer has children. Is that relevant to the plot?

SirVixofVixHall · 23/06/2018 21:57

Tommy’s son is very creepy ( I’m just re watching it as DH was away last night ) .
I am terrified that something will happen to Astrid, or Saga.

HollowTalk · 23/06/2018 22:00

I don't think Astrid will die, but I'd put money on Henrik dying and Saga taking care of Astrid.

Or - given it's a firing squad - Saga could die saving Astrid's life. (More poignant than saving Henrik's life.)

Oh bloody hell, I will be beside myself if Saga dies.

SirVixofVixHall · 23/06/2018 22:11

Noooo ! Saga can’t die ! Friday is the last one isn’t it ? I have to go out, will need to avoid twitter until I’ve seen it on Saturday night.

HollowTalk · 23/06/2018 22:41

You'll have to avoid all news sites and here, too!

colouringinagain · 23/06/2018 23:56

Just caught up OMG!

Saga you're a star. You found Astrid. No-one else would have made that connection.

But then terrified when Henrik told Kevin she was there!!!!

You guys were all right about the assistant and the phone, though my addled brain can't remember the significance of the phone now Confused

Not sure I can bear to watch the last one Sad

PickAChew · 24/06/2018 00:04

I think the granny is probably pretty cool and sick and tired of the whole famned lot of them.

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/06/2018 08:23

The two sisters. Where do they fit in? Or are they there to steal phone, and so be a nuisance to assistance and psychologist? Like Christoffer and mum had a reasonable plot involvement to bring us to Astrid and Anna.

ToffeeUp · 24/06/2018 09:50

colouragain the phone had software on that was tracking Margrethe's phone.

FreezerBird · 24/06/2018 11:20

I clocked the florist as well, but my fear was that the sweet prosecutor, despite what Lillian said, would send flowers, thus showing that Lillian at least has someone who cares about her, thus making himself a prime beheading target.

So what actually happened was... something of a shock.

As an aside, how refreshing to have a woman say to a man 'you have to back off', and for the man to take her seriously and actually back off. I was so convinced he'd send her flowers despite what she said.

I bloody well hope not. Saga is having such a good time - solving long lost case, people saying they like working with her, learning to do things that aren't right because it is the right thing to do - I will be watching from behind the sofa. Shock

SirVixofVixHall · 24/06/2018 13:37

Maybe I’ll just have to watch it very late on Friday... would be so annoying to get a spoiler.

BritabroadinAsia · 24/06/2018 15:35

@StripySocksAndDocs - am also outside UK so have bought the series on iTunes. You could just get episode 7? (Although I suspect that if you're on the thread still you'll know pretty much everything that happened already Wink)

What an episode! So much wonderful acting. Henrik's face as Astrid emerged from the house had me in pieces, and then the 'my best friend' line...I don't think I can cope with whatever terrible resolution the writers have in store for us, no doubt involving the untimely end of either Astrid, Henrik or Saga.

I've been wondering about the predictions regarding the song Hollow Talk and the line 'everything goes back to the beginning'. Do we know if the screenwriters actually planned the entire four series from the outset - so before series1 was first broadcast? As if not, then the lyrics of the theme tune wouldn't necessarily be relevant to the plot at this stage. I have no idea whether they worked out the whole story from the very start? I assumed that the subsequent series were commissioned on the back of the success of the first season, and the plot has been linked retrospectively, if you see what I mean? Does anyone know?

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/06/2018 17:31

@BritabroadinAsia I'm in Ireland, so get BBC with my TV package, but if I miss an episode (usually because my recordy box doesn't record for no apparently reason) I'm doomed as BBC so rarely repeats and there no iplayer. Ive manage to see episode 7 though.

Mind you The Bridge is repeated. Late on Thursday.

Next Friday, I will be at home and everyone will have to vacate the room. I'm watching in real time!!

HollowTalk · 24/06/2018 17:46

It would be interesting to know whether the end was there at the beginning (as far as the scriptwriters were concerned.) It seemed as though it was going to go on for two series, at first, didn't it, ending with Martin going to prison? Series 3 and 4 have been very distinct - in fact it was nice to hear Saga mention Martin in therapy, as I don't think he was really mentioned after series 2 ended, was he?

MrsFring · 24/06/2018 17:49

I'm not entirely sure but I think that series 4 wasn't a foregone conclusion. There was a certain ambiguity at the very end of series 3; Saga may have died by the railway tracks and Henrik could have hallucinated the final scene in the flat and car.

OP posts:
MrsFring · 24/06/2018 17:52

Martin was mentioned a lot by his fellow Danish cops, Jonas reminds Saga quite frequently!

OP posts:
HollowTalk · 24/06/2018 17:55

I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and watch from series 1, now! Looking forward to seeing Martin again.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 24/06/2018 17:59

As an aside, how refreshing to have a woman say to a man 'you have to back off', and for the man to take her seriously and actually back off. I was so convinced he'd send her flowers despite what she said.

I would say it has to be someone very close to Lillian to know that even with a new date, she is still not over Hans.
