But would it be fair to say that her attempts to rescue don't always work? I mean, look at her sister. For a start I'd love to know what really was happening at home - her mother was never diagnosed with Munchhausen's by proxy, that was Saga's take on it. So maybe her sister didn't actually need rescuing: Saga destroyed her family for no reason. And if her mother was innocent, her reactions afterwards (even, maybe, framing Saga for her murder) are understandable.
She's destroyed the family with the baby in this series by pointing out the genetic issues. I think she wants to help, but often fails.
The abortion maybe ties in with this. She was attempting to rescue her relationship with Henrik by killing their child.
That's not to say I don't love her to bits, but I wonder if that's the pattern the therapist was talking about.
In which case, maybe, when she realises the connection between Astrid and Henrik she doesn't step in, but lets Henrik work it out for himself. And maybe, by breaking the pattern, it still manages to go wrong..... Or not.....
