Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

OK... so here's my take.

The sisters have decided to mess around with the psychiatrist in order to get what they want (to see Henrik?) They told him their "names" but they have given the names of Henrik's children, based on what they learned at his house and based on the jewellery they stole. (I'm wondering whether they gave the names in the wrong order, eg the younger sister giving the name of Henrik's older daughter.)

We've never been told the names of his daughters - that was a clever move because we can't match the names against other characters.

Then, how did Henrik's wife end up at the commune village - was she leaving Henrik for another man? Frank? Was she kidnapped? How did the daughter die? I'm so happy Henrik's daughter is alive!

I was dreaming about The Bridge last night - I thought I was in it. My son is building a soundproof studio (in real life) and I woke up thinking, "Oh no, I'm going to be decapitated in his studio and no-one will hear!"

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 16/06/2018 10:36

Ok hollow you win the overinvested medalGrin
I think your theory is pretty much the likely scenario.

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 10:37

The name on the grave marker was Anna. Astrid said she was Magdalena when she spoke Danish.
Just to add more confusion Grin

HollowTalk · 16/06/2018 10:39

@ToffeeUp, when the two sisters told the psychiatrist their names, do you remember what they said?

HollowTalk · 16/06/2018 10:39

Henrik is Danish, isn't he? And the commune is in Sweden?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/06/2018 10:40

Are the street-wise sisters definitely sisters?

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 10:43

hollow Julia (eldest) and Ida

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/06/2018 10:44

I too dislike the BBC rationing us to only one episode a week.

The psychiatrist is v dodgy. That phone call he made in episode one or two about "sticking to the plan " what was that all about?

I had forgotten that, good point!

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 10:46

I think we are missing some nuances at times with the Danish and Swedish.
I can distinguish between the two when concentrating but not when I am reading the subtitles.

The commune is in Sweden, I checked.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 16/06/2018 10:48

Are the street-wise sisters definitely sisters?
Shock Maybe one of this the 'dead' Anna?

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 10:55

With the psychiatrist you mean Niels? He is the one that got the phone call from Douglas, does that mean he has now 2 deaths linked with him? Or am I getting things mixed up now?

sleepingbaby1125 · 16/06/2018 11:11

Yes I'd forgotten about that dodgy comment by Neils. Good point.
Is douglas a private detective that he used to find pictures of magarethe.. who has then been killed because he found out something about the killer (with some link to the Sonnings as there were pictures of them on his table... Maybe they really did take that holiday together?).

HollowTalk · 16/06/2018 11:19

Oh no, so my theory about the girls' names is thrown out of the water already!

I love how involved we get in these Scandi dramas - I can't remember a British drama that's involved me as much.

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 11:27

If Hollow is right with the method being firing squad rather than a single shot then the Douglas killing could be collateral damage rather than a Tommy killing. Maybe linking back to Taariq? Margrethe's last movements were leading to something and someone was tracking her.

That also means firing squad and beheading left for Henrik and Lilian

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 11:31

It was 'The Killing' that started it all off. For helvede Sarah Lund Grin

HollowTalk · 16/06/2018 11:44

But Lilian has suffered already when Hans died. She hasn't got anyone to lose now.

Yes, it was The Killing that started it. I had never seen anything as good as that. Even now I think the plotting of that was better, but I think Saga is just a terrific character, blowing everyone else out of the water.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/06/2018 11:48

That first series of The Killing was epic in every sense.

HollowTalk · 16/06/2018 11:49

I think I'm going to go back and watch that again. It was such fun on here while that was on, trying to figure out what had happened.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 16/06/2018 11:58

The Killing was brilliant. The American version is surprisingly good too.

ToffeeUp · 16/06/2018 12:03

You could say that Henrik has already sufferd too, with the disappearance of his wife and daughter.
Kevin was the one asking Henrik about accepting that the girls could be dead.

glamorousgrandmother · 16/06/2018 13:22

Someone on another forum had investigated state methods of execution: shooting and firing squad were listed separately so shooting by one gunman could still count - and there was also being pushed off a tall building.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 16/06/2018 14:15

The MN discussion about the Missing was good. Lots of theories there. That was British.

DurtySarf · 16/06/2018 14:25

Is next week the last episode or are there two more to go?

YouStacey · 16/06/2018 14:35

Just another ludicrous theory - perhaps all the possible suspects are all in it together, just like on the Orient Express? So, granny, Kevin and Kevin's mum. I still think the PA dunnit, which means she didn't.
