Anyone watched it? Not sure about it, but will watch next one. The affair with the sandwich woman got very irritating, all that humping and heaving! Also could not believe he would bring her to live at his house and put his own kids at risk, with her psycho partner around.

I get she really doesn't love Greg so was gutted when she was pregnant to him again. But little Molly didn't ask to be born? That scene when she was standing at the window then walked away infuriated me. Poor Molly. And describing Laura as 'special' to her ex apparently because she is his is just horrible.
The only way this series can end well is if Greg slings Brenna out

CookPassBabtridge · 05/04/2018 12:54

She definitely looks older than her age, I thought she was at least mid 50s. Not a bad thing!

Cagliostro · 05/04/2018 16:40

Just watched episode 2. Haven’t hated a tv character as much as Brenna in a long time! 😡

The80sweregreat · 05/04/2018 17:32

Brenna is real though! There are people around like her , but rarely in a drama. Normally it’s the men that are the baddies.
I still found it grim though.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 05/04/2018 18:35

The actor playing the teenage son was also in Derry Girls! Watched the series again the other night with my daughter and she recognised him from the Agatha Christie programme. Then she watched this with me and it's the same person.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2018 22:58

Loving this. Havnt sssn 2 yet so Scrolled past after e1 so don’t ruin it for myself

I actually thought he was Scottish. Not Irish 😳😳😳😳

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2018 23:00

EachandEveryone · 06/04/2018 01:04

Oh Blondes I gave up on Ray last season even Liev couldn’t hold my attention

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2018 09:56

It was hard work but I’ve watched every one @every so kinder needed to know what happened

EachandEveryone · 06/04/2018 10:28

The new one is in NYC

Aloneinacrowd70 · 06/04/2018 13:29

It's really well acted, which makes it pretty compelling, but I was really disappointed that this episode didn't explore further why she stopped seeing her kids. Moving out, feeling suffocated, yes - but I am not getting a sense of why she couldn't see the kids, other than it makes good drama for her not to.

Mumontherocks1 · 07/04/2018 02:26

I feel the same Alone. I feel that the storyline is too big for 3 episodes. The acting is superb.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2018 08:16

Finally watched 2

As soon as marie shows pic of 14yr to man df said it was his child

Well done df

I also thought MOLLY was an accident as 9yrs younger then older sis and scenes show she was :(

Takes two to tango so not sure why she was hitting him with the preg stick

Brennan is horrible to his kids and tbh saying I won’t be here if you see your ex was spiteful. Let alone her ex punching a 14yr. Let’s hope he’s gets done !!!

And losing to an infertile woman about not being able to have kids. Then saying she has 3 and left them - that’s a friendship gone

I still can’t imagine how or why any mum
Could leave their kids - I know it happens - but I could never do it

So why did she leave him? Coz she had an affair? Coz she didn’t love him?

Why why why

MissEliza · 07/04/2018 08:56

I have known mums who've left and I've known mums who've agreed for the dad to be the residential parent. That's fine. But I don't understand any parent who refuses to see their children, whether it's the mother or the father.

Yamayo · 07/04/2018 10:45

I liked the scene with Laura and the car mechanic.
I was expecting a cliché sleazy older guy preys on vulnerable teen but he was surprisingly empathetic and kind.

Yamayo · 07/04/2018 12:31

I think the reason she might refuse to see the children is that it will drag her back with him.
When they argued in the street after he broke into her house he kept saying she needed to be home. It wasn't about the children, it was about her role in the house as a wife and mother. It was about forgetting she'd even left and going back to things the way they were.

He wasn't even apologetic about breaking in. And she was nowhere near as angry or freaked out as she should have been.

He was so possessive I found his behaviour at the hospital bizarre. He goes from stalking her to saying he doesn't want to see her ever again? No way.
Too convenient to set up a custody battle.

iheartmichellemallon · 07/04/2018 12:38

I think it's an excellent series & so well acted. All of the characters are 'real' rather than cliches & sadly there are a lot of women like Brenna. I think she shows what a crap dad he actually is as he's putting his dick before his family to the point of endangering them.

All flawed & very real.

eloisesparkle · 08/04/2018 20:11

I just don't understand how she could do that to little Molly. Look in the window , Molly sees her, gets all excited, calls out to her Dad ( probably to open the door) and Brenna disappears. 😥

MissEliza · 08/04/2018 22:50

Today, as I was despairing over the usual weekend mess, I thought Brenna might be onto something with the chores rota!

Mc180768 · 09/04/2018 01:30

I gave just watched episode 2.

Marie is hardly Mother Earth and clearly affected by her experiences of childbirth. While we all want it to be cosy, I know and understand what it feels like to not thoroughly enjoy Motherhood. The character writing is intense and shows a cold ice maiden that walks out and leaves her children.

That said, Greg is behaving like a tosser moving that Brenna in. As another PP stated, he's putting his dick before his children and placing them in harms way. So because a mother has walked out, Greg epitomises the weak man whom cannot cope without his wife with work/family life and Brenna is a convenient slot in. However, Brenna is not one for housework as shown and she trouble for that family with a capital T. She saw an opportunity in Greg and worked her way. The bloody harpie. But great acting from the actress.

Looking forward to next episode. And no adverts. Bliss.

LMX0 · 09/04/2018 07:19

I watched both last night and was hooked!!! The first ep really focused on the dad and children's view which was a little hard to watch and that woman brenna!!! What trouble!!! I never thought of the attack being fake however i did notice how the little boy acted and thought how strange so it makes sense!! And the texting from the daughters phone 😱 anyone else think she seems to have a drink problem? Greg needs to get her out of his house as she is toxic and if he doesn't after her ex attacking his daughter he needs his head seeing too and his dick cut off!! As for the mother i thought the second ep would have been more from her view but it only left alot more questions?! I seriously think she is very troubled and needs some help? I don't see how all the questions will be answered in one more ep esp since its now going through the courts!!

eloisesparkle · 09/04/2018 18:15
Blush I meant her mother disappears not Brenna. I wish Brenna WOULD disappear.
Mellodrama · 10/04/2018 21:00

Ooooh, Who's watching?!

thenightsky · 10/04/2018 21:30

Gettingboredofthisnow · 10/04/2018 21:31

Why is he with this awful woman?
