With a cameo from Toffs jungle camp mate Stanley! I know I shouldn’t watch this, I’m well aware I’m not the target audience, but I find it strangely compelling.....
Found tonight’s episode as infuriating as always - why on earth has little fat Fonz decided he needs to be in London to paint, and when did Tiny Tears get her lips done?

She also made rude comments about Sammy's hair being dry, if we're keeping score on the rudeness front!

Sammy was so polite and understanding with Maeva, she didn't need to be but she was. Even when Maeva was very rude to her at that champagne event after Miles had finished with her, Sammy stood up for herself and let Maeva know she was behaving badly but conducted herself with real dignity.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts when you've watched the most recent episode because Maeva's whole facade collapses. She is desperately unhappy. I felt sorry for her.

I always think that unkind people are absolutely miserable and here I feel I am correct.

Yes Miles initially he said he wanted no strings but then he really has been leading her on in the last couple of episodes. He also KNOWS that no strings sex is not what she wants! You don't do that to someone who you know is in love with you. I'm sorry but Miles has let himself down here!!

Yamayo · 06/06/2019 18:11

I agree Miles is being a bastard to her.
So far (excluding latest episode) she believes she has the upper hand but it is so not the case.

She might be an unhappy person but she is defining herself by her appeal towards men. She's not really interested in forming friendships with girls, and she wants all the boys to fancy her.
Shooting herself in the foot there- people will eventually get fed up with her.

I used to think Sophie was like that (she was presented like that in the first few series). Turns out she is very self-aware, witty, and a loyal friend. She's blunt, but not malicious.

Sedgewick · 06/06/2019 18:38

Yes - and I do like the friendship/banter between Habbs and Liv!

You're right that Maeva has not made much effort with the girls. I understand why she may not be that excited about being friends with Rosi as she seems rather a cold fish but Amelia is sweet and lovely. Sounds odd but I think Maeva would perhaps like to be warmer and nicer like Amelia and to be so popular but since she isn't there is a little jealousy there.

At the same time you cannot avoid noticing that Maeva gets plenty of male attention and Amelia very little and so in that sense Maeva may judge herself superior. An unacceptable reason to be so dismissive but there it is.

And in Maeva's defence if I had a friend who had once slept with my boyfriend and THEN went and kissed the next guy I was dating I might feel a bit irritable about it. It's a bit unfair I know but there are a lot of men in the world and Maeva clearly feels that it is weird that there is a repeated overlap there.

I don't think Hugo is at all interested in Amelia unfortunately. I think he likes her as a friend and is already worried about hurting her. Of course Amelia will smile and take it on the chin when he ends things as that seems to be the way she deals with stuff but she should not be toyed with. I feel like both Amelia and Maeva are insecure but they show it in very different ways.

Really they could learn from each other. Amelia does need to demand a bit more for herself and have a bit more ego so she is not taken advantage of by friends and men. And Maeva needs to be more open and less proud like Amelia is rather than hiding all that misery behind such an offputting facade. If she had been more open then she'd have all the support of the girls right now which would also ensure her a place in Made in Chelsea next season.

But you're right - her self-esteem seems based on the admiration of men and not on deep friendships with the girls. That is a very shaky foundation. No wonder she is so unhappy.

Yamayo · 07/06/2019 13:03

OK Sophie is brilliant.

Don't really see what everyone sees in Habbs. If she's that special, why are they editing her so dull?

Verity looks so like Laura Palmer.

greatvengeanceandfuriousanger · 07/06/2019 21:55

Did Maeve move in with Rosi? I didn't think she's a pretty as she thinks she is.

I like Amelia but she needs a kick up the arse. What she thinks men think about her isn't important.

Yamayo · 08/06/2019 09:47

She's clearly insecure. She's the only 'normal' looking girl in a sea of skinny over groomed creatures (and I'm including the boys in this).

Rosi and Maeva perfectly compliment each other. Rosi is so conceited- remember how she was talking about how much cleverer she was, compared to the all the other girls? On a shallow note can't deal with how her mouth weirdly contorts when she speaks.

Sedgewick · 08/06/2019 10:41

Is it wrong that Rosi somehow reminds me of the original Rosie? Anyone else see it?

pikapikachu · 08/06/2019 19:08

I've noticed how many MIC girls have the exactly same shade of blonde particularly when they sit side by side at the salon.

pikapikachu · 08/06/2019 19:11

Agree with Sophie Hermann being awesome (unlike Sophie Habbo aka Habbs)

Sedgewick · 08/06/2019 20:04

I like Sophie and Mark-Francis but it's easy for them to be likeable. They are never under any stress at all.

They show very little of themselves. Easy to be likeable if you're not vulnerable in any way. The only time I saw Mark-Francis genuinely show emotion is when he and Victoria had a brief falling out ages ago.

We see Verity being clingy and Maeva being heartbroken and Miles being jealous and we can like or dislike them but they do have the balls to put themselves out there.

If MIC was full of Mark-Francis and Sophie types it would be just arch comments about other people and no meat to it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2019 22:09

Mark Francis is very drool

Still can’t work out if Gay

Scoose · 10/06/2019 22:14

Yes Sophie! (Herman not habbs) I bloody love her!

Hermano · 11/06/2019 06:24

I definitely like Sophie but she was meddling and way over the line IMO to get arsey with Maeva and James for snogging given how Miles has treated Maeva

He dumped her twice so has no right to tell her who she can and can't kiss. He can feel upset, but that's his issue not hers

James obv has been an entitled douche, but what's new?

I do suspect this whole storyline is at least partially for our amusement. It's not doing a great job but is marginally better than Jamie's faux dismay when 'oh no, it's my ex calling' straight after he'd revealed that he and Habbs spent the night dry humping cuddling in a bed

jay55 · 11/06/2019 13:00

Maeva and James are well suited, both being in love with Miles.

NumbersStation · 11/06/2019 13:11

Now now jay Grin

You'll get me counting beards again....

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 11/06/2019 19:29

jay Grin Yep.

NumbersStation · 11/06/2019 21:35

Nineheid was the most perceptive this week. I'm not fond of the Frau.

Gold and cream for MF's decor? Come off it dude. We all know it will be a frenzy of anaglypta and artex.

Biscuits looks thrilled that Habbs said yes to a date. Hmm

Maeva and Miles. He wants her back next week. But then doesn't because he finds out Jimmy Beiber has stoked the fire with little Jimmy.

One can only imagine Miles knows where little Jimmy has been.
See the comment from jay for a clue...

Wigby needs to get acquainted with a brush.

MarthasGinYard · 11/06/2019 21:43

'Thicket Priory'

How very apt

MarthasGinYard · 11/06/2019 21:47

Just watching now

Digby arriving in those cropped jeans.... resembled a gold club.

MarthasGinYard · 11/06/2019 21:50

Mytton does make me chuckle

NumbersStation · 11/06/2019 22:00

They only went to Thicket Priory because Wanker Hall was fully booked.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 12/06/2019 06:01

James is “Patrick Bateman: Millennial Edition” isn’t he?

There’s something mildly chilling there and I don’t know what.

Scoose · 12/06/2019 09:08

Mytt is a little shit stirrer and I love him for it! It seems to me like Jamie is more in to habbs than her him, but there's no one Jamie loves more than himself! I can't see them lasting five minutes. Miles got a taste of his own medicine, he can't fuck about then cry when Maeva goes off with someone else. I'm glad Sophie told James he is a twat sometimes you have to call it as you see it and there is something so off about James he's horrible.

Hermano · 12/06/2019 16:25

No libellous specifics needed but what sorts of things make people suspicious of beards?

NumbersStation · 12/06/2019 17:04

I love a good facial hair profusion.

You don’t see nearly enough of them in London these days. Plenty of well groomed ones but no bushy ones.

There’s a couple of instances of unrequited love though.

And little toothy verity snapped out of hers really quickly re biscuits.

And as for his ex (who knows which one texted) being upset? Yawn.

But poking or at least fraternising with your best mate’s ex is the scriptwriter choice this season.

That and over reacting to two single people getting it on.

For a scripted reality show it just isn’t coming across as very real at all.

Just drama of the scripted variety. I’m waiting for someone to come out of the shower saying it has all been a dream. Before donning a pair of water skis and going all Fonzi (not the little fat one) on us.
