It's that Homeland time of year again

It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

Looking at fashion , watched Homeland from day one and loving Carrie😍(but wouldn't want her in my daughter's life) never liked a woman in a leather jacket and really disappointed that if Carrie walked in my local tonight ( The Spinners) wearing that leather i wouldnt be interested ( as if she would be )...

I dont get why the Russian smoking Russian fags would ring alarm bells. When I smoked and visited America i took loads from duty free as american fags are rubbish.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/03/2018 02:08

I think there will be a Steve Bannon type figure who AsianMoneyWoman reports to. Possibly Dar, somehow. Or a Russian. Or both.

Carrie should not trust Anson. He is a nasty piece of work and unstable. She will probably shag him though, before realising FBIGuy is a better bet.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 19/03/2018 06:30

"I dont get why the Russian smoking Russian fags would ring alarm bells"

Because he's a defector. Not going back to Russia, surely and they're not widely available outside Eastern Europe. So who's bringing him the fags? Saul's commissioned surveillance in him, so maybe we find out before to long. And if it's that the media spin bloke they were talking about (Gromov, I think they said), then the plot thickens

Cocolepew · 19/03/2018 08:00

Thats what I was thinking about the fags, either he has been back to Russia or someone came from there and brought him them.

extinctspecies · 19/03/2018 08:09

I'm glad I'm following this here because I totally missed the fag pack in last night's episode. Obviously a key clue.

Kinraddie · 19/03/2018 10:38

Overall it's pretty dull though this series isn't it? Definitely prefer Homeland when it's not US-based and when Carrie and Saul actually work together. And having Son of Ken in it just destroys another bit of the appeal.

Lweji · 19/03/2018 10:43

Dull? Shock

NellMangel · 19/03/2018 11:41

I agree kinraddie it's not as exciting as previous series. Hopefully it will pick up.

I spent a good five minutes last night trying to speak like Saul (Sol?) - that was fun!

Lweji · 19/03/2018 12:32

I feel this series is much more exciting from the start than the previous two, which took a while to get to speed. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint, towards the end.

ZilphasHatpin · 19/03/2018 12:46

They keep killing off the reasons I watch best characters! Brody, Quinn, beardy joggers! They didn’t kill Jonas but they haven’t kept him in it either! Wellyboot is no substitute for those guys.

Lweji · 19/03/2018 13:01

That is true, but once upon a time Quinn was just another FBI guy...

Abra1de · 19/03/2018 13:05

I’m still pining for Quinn.

ZilphasHatpin · 19/03/2018 13:07

So who are we eyeing up for Quinn’s replacement in our hearts? Not new FBI guy. He seems nice but not doing it for me.

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/03/2018 15:37

Oh I’m really enjoying this series - I love the blurring of the lines between Carries personal and a national paranoia, and the strength of character of Madam Pres.
And O'Keefe is a delightfully despicable (but scarily believable) bad guy.

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/03/2018 15:38

I like the new FBI guy. He seems to actually care about Carrie...which is usually a death warrant mind you

Lottapianos · 19/03/2018 15:44

'And O'Keefe is a delightfully despicable (but scarily believable) bad guy.'

It's true. He really is foul

No more wet pathetic flirting between Carrie and Dante please. I cannot take another Carrie Mathison Relationship of Doom

Saul and his beard make me happy. That is all

Cocolepew · 19/03/2018 16:26

Dull?! I'm loving it.
Horrible photographer was quite easy on the eye. But he's a baddie.

Dantes eyes 👀 bulge, he needs his thyroid checked.
Sauls beard and 'tache is much neater now he's in the White House.

ZilphasHatpin · 19/03/2018 16:37

Has anyone see the car advert on TV with the Saul lookalike in it? I keep thinking it’s him! Grin

extinctspecies · 19/03/2018 16:42

I thought Dante was quite handsome initially, but gone off him now. Too saturnine.

I think there's going to be a love triangle between Dante, Carrie & the new guy we met this week who duffed up the bribery woman.

I agree with the PP who said Homeland is better when they are on location somewhere.

marchonto2018 · 19/03/2018 18:49

Sorry to ask, but who were the beardy joggers? I remember who they were and I've seen every episode I promise!

marchonto2018 · 19/03/2018 18:50

I can't remember Hmm

ZilphasHatpin · 19/03/2018 18:52

Remember when Brody was rescued from the high rise compound by Saul and he was completely addicted to heroin? The beardy joggers were the marines who rehabbed him and got him back into shape for their mission into Iraq.

Abra1de · 19/03/2018 18:58

Replacement for Quinn, Zilphas?! I beg your PARDON.

ZilphasHatpin · 19/03/2018 19:01

Or was it Iran? Confused

Sorry Abra, but we need someone to hold our hearts.
