I will not accept Essie having Raf's baby, mainly because it will ruin my family's oft quoted (and probably badly paraphrased) early Raf line "But Aaammmyy? You know my testicles don't work?"

Lofty's Gran was a spot of welcome light relief, the memorial stuff was quite emotional, and poor, poor Hansen... :( I hope he's going to be ok.

Essie is driving me mad. She's so controlling. I never believed her relationship with Raf anyway.

See I was under the impression (from the Casualty thread, not my own observation skills ) that Connie was still a patient when she did the interview. She had her bracelet tag thing on under her jacket and said she was going back to bed and wouldn't be away long?

Maybe it was her turn to spend the day in the AAU side-room.

He abandoned his car? I missed that. What happened? How come I didn't see that?

I think HH running off from his car was the start of the mental breakdown he seemed to be building towards through the episode - flashbacks, struggling to come to terms with losing his son, struggling to come to terms with what Frederik had done, the loss of Raf etc etc. Bear in mind he already has mental health issues (OCD comes to mind as one) and he's been under pressure with the possible merger stuff too and his daughter in law told him she didn't want him to have any further involvement with her son ... I think he's just collapsed under the stress of it all!

Re prisoners and their healthcare: They are treated in the prison healthcare/hospital wing unless they are seriously ill or got to have surgery. They aren't cuffed to the bed (or shouldn't be), they are cuffed to an officer (by a closeting chain) or not depending on the risk assessment and instructions but, there are generally 2 officers on the bed watch and there will be one with the prisoner at all times. Officers will not leave the room so that anyone can have a quiet word with the prisoner!
NB; Things might have changed a bit but, I doubt it.

Poor HH. I could see something was going to occur with him this week...he needs looking after. I hope Prof Gaskell doesn't take over HH's job.

I agree that HH has finally hit the bottom of his breakdown and that’s why he abandoned his car.

When did Dom go to AAU? Are they all just covering it on shifts because wasn’t Sasha there last week?

I thought Dr Who and HH were friends from way back. Hopefully if he does stand in its only temporary and to support HH.

I managed to catch up last night, another poor episode - they are just lurching from one thing to another, nothing's joined-up. What was all that with Generous Guy and Jac, what was that even in there for? Dom on AAU for no reason other than to meet Lofty's gran. (In the good old days she wouldn't have made it to end of the episode, let alone be shuffled off to the ward for elderly people). It's becoming so obvious that the cast has shrunk, the memorial service in the car park was a bit farcical - they'll have to lose some parking spaces soon to make room for the memorials to dead doctors...

It's a habit I can't get out of at the moment, but it's turned into a bit of a dutiful chore!

I’m suspecting a miracle pregnancy for Essie even more now after Fredrick's wife asked her if they’d planned to have children. Although I thought it an odd question to be asking a woman of Essie’s age. And yes I’ve Googled and she’s 45 IRL so pregnancy perfectly possible but I wouldn’t be asking a woman of that age about babies so I feel it was shoe-horned in.

The Connie situation is now annoying me in Holby and Casualty

Oh and I had a rather unexpected but equally pleasant dream about Professor Gaskil last night. Who knew he was tattooed under that shirt
