New year, new thread! Looking forward to tonight's episode ...

Well, that was....uneventful. It felt like they had two scenes - Ric gets a hard time in prison and Ollie struggles with recovery - and just showed them over and over again.

Not loving the prison scenes, I have to say. So predictable.

I couldn't give up Holby and I love Dom and Lofty , I don;t like the violence in the prison though I am a snowflake

Well that was cheery. I don't mind episodes where it focuses on one of two set stories - Greys Anatomy does it well but the Domty wasn't enough to lift two depressing stories even with flutter tongue.

Awww, no - I liked Dom and Lofty! Zosia buggering straight back off to Yale was a bit harsh though. I'm still not clear about whether they'd officially split up or not.

Zosia said they were separated last night.

Zosia said they'd separated but were hoping to reset. So I guess a see if she comes back and where they are then. Cant believe she abandoned him to his mother

As uncomfortable watching as it was, I am intrigued to see how Ric manages to get out of this one without getting himself killed. Being the boxer that he is, did he manage to fend them all off and gain some 'don't mess with me' kudos..?! I hope he doesn't end up doing the drug thing as surely that will do him no favours in getting him out of there reasonably quickly.

Out of interest, do all prisoners get treated in the prison only rather than being sent to hospital?

Seriously though, who is ric supposed to ask to get him drugs from a hospital, no-one that's stupid.

Plus half the freaking staff have left or been shot!

Disappointing episode. Those hoping for Serena's return; the actor has been filming over the past 6 or so weeks, but her Twitter feed shows she and her DH have gone off again in their (camper) van, with no indication of how long she'll be gone, so I don't hold out too much hope for any long storylines for her when she does reappear on our screens.

We need some strong characters and storylines.

Do you think ric will be in ccasualty on Saturday or the ED next week?

I would say Donna feels guilty enough to steal for him.

Maybe this week's episode was a filler while they hastily cast an entire new staff to replace (deep breath): Mo, Mr T, Jasmine, Isaac, Serena, Bernie, Matteo, Nina, Raf, Frederik, Morven, Zosia, Guy, Damon...

Those are the ones who have left since I staring watching it less than a year ago! And they all leave (or die ) with about thirty seconds notice. How Holby ever got picked to remain open over that other hospital, I have no idea...

I didn't realise it had been on this week so I'm an episode behind. I will watch it on BBC iPlayer later.

It doesn't sound like l've missed much though....

Plenty of prisoners turn up in Casualty, usually handcuffed to a trolley with a guard who is easily distracted by a relative of the prisoner suggesting that they pop to the snack machine while said prisoner escapes.

I forgot Damon left. There's Bernie's son too kinda . Nd Serena's daughter died

Who is/was Damon?

The new young F1 ( young, outgoing, black - he had a heart condition, I think) - he was only in for a few episodes.

He was the F1 in it recently before Matteo left, he flat shared with Morven for a bit. Imagine her landlord jas let her out of her lease as easily as HH lets them out of contracts

Has he actually left then? I just assumed he wasn’t in it at the moment as there aren’t any Darwin staff left apart from him so they’re not filming there for a while. Maybe he’ll be back when Petrenko appears again.

He had a chance toto work with the surgeon who did his heart op? It was a low key exit amongst all the dramatic exits

Im impressed how long its taking Jac to recover. She was in the walk bar Xmas Eve, I assumed she'd be operating by new year
