So far so good... seems to be trying to be Scott & Bailey, which could be a good thing

OP posts:
Fishfingersandwichnocheese · 12/12/2017 22:49

God I hope not. I don’t think I saw that ?!

MrsSiba · 12/12/2017 23:12

Keepit there was definitely a double take when she clocks her son in the shower.

Bancroft missing the second strike so Stevens team won the bowling looked like a set up. Though why Joe turned up to his mum's works do was odd. Does he not have his own life?

MrsSiba · 12/12/2017 23:15

Walker could be next on her hitlist. He is applying for the supers job too and somehow/one ( my money is on Anya) it will slip the Fraser case is not closed.

LineyRunner · 12/12/2017 23:17

The writer Kate Brooke wrote the Ice Cream Girls.

She has definite themes and twists that she favours.

Maybe young Bancroft was covering up for who she thought killed the victim by doing the 'overkill' and faking the burglary. To cover up for someone ... who didn't do it in the first place.

Battleax · 12/12/2017 23:24

Bit he played Jez (?) in Corrie about 18years ago and has popped up in this and that since. Trollied on Sky, for one thing.

MrsSiba · 12/12/2017 23:34

Ice Cream Girls was based on the book by Dorothy Koomson. Not sure how closely they stuck to the book.

BitOfFun · 12/12/2017 23:39

Thanks, Battleax. Do call me BOF- I feel we are friends Xmas Smile.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/12/2017 08:55

Thanks from me too Battleax - it was driving me mad trying to remember where I 'knew' him from.

And yes, it is a steaming pile of tedious tropes, isn't it?

Right down to Bancroft's flat shoes and loping gait.

eddiemairswife · 13/12/2017 10:59

The scene where Bancroft broke into the forensics place reminded me of Michelle in Corrie breaking into the Bistro.

LineyRunner · 13/12/2017 11:49

I'll still watch it tonight, though :)

Cocolepew · 13/12/2017 16:36

I was annoyed within the first 5 minutes. The neighbour said she knocked and knocked but nobody answered. But when Bancroft got to the door it was ajar.
I'm going to carry on watching but moan about it while I do Grin

JustDanceAddict · 13/12/2017 17:33

I cringed when Bancroft broke into the forensics lab. Such cliched scenes!!

LineyRunner · 13/12/2017 17:48

Coco that annoyed me, too. I hope there's some genius explanation for it, rather than it just being a bit of a crap plot. As in, between the neighbours knocking and knocking and Bancroft arriving, someone had opened the door from the inside (Bancroft??) and left out the back.

Also, Bancroft looked through the letterbox and saw the victim, didn't she? Wouldn't the neighbours have already looked through too and called an ambulance in case she was still alive? And why did the neighbours knock and knock, anyway?

cherrycola2004 · 13/12/2017 17:52

Annoyed I have to miss tonight's to watch apprentice so will be day behind

Cocolepew · 13/12/2017 18:36

Exactly Liney, surely if they heard a noise that worried them they would have looked through the letterbox?

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/12/2017 19:54

The plot deepens with the wedding video

Maybe Bancroft thought hubby did it and she was covering up

If she was having an affair

Didn’t they say Laura had had a baby? Or did I dream that?

Why push your colleague tonsleepnwith your son

And the evidence place was silly. She wears gloves but took hood off. No cameras about?

Janus · 13/12/2017 20:21

I thought that about the neighbour knocking and the door being open too. I think, but really can’t swear to it, that the neighbour said she took in some flowers for her?? There has to be a story about why door was actually open for Bancroft?
Let’s see what mistakes we can spot tonight!!!

Janus · 13/12/2017 20:23

Oh and they said Laura was 4 months pregnant but the baby ‘didn’t stand a chance’.

Battleax · 13/12/2017 20:25

A 16/17 week foetus wouldn't have been viable in '90.

Janus · 13/12/2017 20:40

Yes, seemed a silly thing to say but I think they meant as she was stabbed in the stomach not because of it’s age, although that would make no change now either.

Battleax · 13/12/2017 20:41

Oh I see.

Battleax · 13/12/2017 20:42

Maybe that's more evidence that it was an affair between the DH and Bancroft that motivated her?

Arronsmissus · 13/12/2017 21:35

Well im stumped.

I thought she was gonna kill the young blonde.

Fishfingersandwichnocheese · 13/12/2017 21:50

I’m still sticking to my idea. She had sex with him to control him. After his wife died and just now.

Battleax · 13/12/2017 21:53

I can't watch it until it becomes available on ITV player. Reading the live comments first is a bit addictive Smile
