Lol I know, I’m a bit dim. But in the previous seasons I’ve rooted for them but this season is just dawned on me that they deserve pretty much everything that’s currently happening to them.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 07/12/2017 13:48

Yes it does seem to be about the chickens coming home to roost in the series. I’m still rooting for them though. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the boxing match between Goliath and the Gold boy. Who will win and what will that mean for tommy? He needs aberama gold on side but he also needs Alfie on side too. Will he have to pick a team?

MrsFring · 07/12/2017 19:01

Of all the big names in this season I think that Aiden Gillen is the only one who properly inhabits his character. Brody is just embarrassing and Tom Hardy, brilliant as he is, scene-steals rather too heavy handidly. I know Gold's accent is all over the show but he's compelling without being ott.

Gold is a great character. He gives me the heebiejeebies. Grin

ToffeeUp · 08/12/2017 09:05

Watched it last night, another good episode but Changretta's accent is starting to annoy me.

LurkingHusband · 08/12/2017 12:49

I think some of the best dramas have that element of moral contradiction in them. Breaking Bad, The Wire ...

One of our favourites is "The Shield" - where despite the very first episode signalling that Mackey was a murderer (not just that one who would kill a fellow policeman) - we were still rooting for him in S7. Although his comeuppance seemed appropriate.

rockcakesrock · 08/12/2017 14:11

Serie 3 is on BBC 4 on 14th December 1am I think

Gruach · 09/12/2017 09:07

I'd managed to avoid almost all of this (saw a couple of early episodes including Tommy's wife's death) and was only vaguely interested. But I've fallen into the latest series on iPlayer and am completely transfixed. Finally get the CM excitement ...

Union woman was the kidnap victim in Happy Valley Thank you! Knew I recognised her from somewhere. Do love the way Tommy is so (relatively) respectful upwards her. Agree they would be cute together.

Surely Polly is bluffing? (Her wardrobe is so breathtaking I need her to be on the 'right' side.)

Cannot wait for the rest of the series.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 21:46

Anyone watching tonight?

RatherBeCrazy · 13/12/2017 21:47

Yes! Doesn't Tom Hardy steal every scene he's in!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 21:51

He really does! He’s fucking brilliant. Adrian Brody must feel about an inch tall standing opposite him.

Favourite line of this episode

Ada: “tommy Shelby is going to stop the revolution with his cock.” Grin

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 22:00

That song tommy and Jessie were dancing too was the song grace sang in episode 1 of series 1 when she went to the garrison looking for a job.

RatherBeCrazy · 13/12/2017 22:00

I'm so pleased Polly didn't betray Tommy. This series has been so much better than the last.

RatherBeCrazy · 13/12/2017 22:00

No way!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 22:05

It is a very good series. Can’t believe there is only 1 episode left. I want it to go on forever! I have a bad feeling about poor Lizzie.

RatherBeCrazy · 13/12/2017 22:14

So do I. I think she's going to die next week. I don't know why else the pregnancy storyline happened. Arthur is on the edge, I wonder if he kills someone.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 22:26

I can’t see the pregnancy storyline ending well for her. I mean he is never going to be hers. Like he said, he’ll buy her A house and pay her an income but otherwise he isn’t interested. I’m a bit dissappointed that May hasn’t played a Bigger part in this series. TBH I’m not actually sure why they had May in it at all. Maybe TH swung it for her to be in this series.

Rollergirl11 · 13/12/2017 22:27

Other than the first episode I’ve been really bored by this series. I don’t feel like there’s been much interaction between by the Shelby clan. It seems to be all Tommy. I’m missing John (which I’m quite surprised about) and Michael hasn’t been in it that much either.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 22:31

THats a good point roller. I was expecting more development of the Finn character which they seemed to be setting up last week but he wasn’t even even in it this week! I think 6 episodes is too short. They need more.

Whitecovers · 13/12/2017 22:36

I really miss the humour john brought to it. And the interaction between the brothers.

That's interesting about the song on the grammarphone being the one that Grace sang.

Felt sorry for Lizzie being told cheers for the kid now fuck off home. Even though she gets on my nerves.

Loved the Lucca and Alfie scene!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 13/12/2017 22:44

I actually like Lizzie when she isn’t mooning over tommy. I think she could be a real force to be reckoned with if she realised he isn’t all that and told him to go fuck himself instead of doing everything he asks.

MrsFring · 13/12/2017 22:50

That was sheer tv perfection. The opening scene, the beautiful camera work, everything. Sigh.

OP posts:
officerhinrika · 13/12/2017 23:15

Polly was magnificent, Ada running her a close second but Alfie Solomon’s had all the best lines, “and add another £100 because you’re a c**t”.

MrsFring · 13/12/2017 23:29

Polly and Gold were sex on fire!
