I still can’t believe it. Sadly I’m at work tonight but will catch up tomorrow. I don’t know if enjoy is the word. www.google.co.uk/amp/www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-10-16/george-michael-freedom-channel-4-extended-trailer/amp/

What did you all really think when you saw him and Whitney together?

I feel sorry for Kenny not getting a look in. I feel as if there was a part 2 waitmg to be made.

I felt that too Eachandeveryone. Did feel like a part one. Some of the interviews with George were culled from a film he made in 2004/5 called George Michael: A different story available on youtube

Kenny, Andrew, Pepsi and Shirlie, Martin Kemp, Boy George, Elton etc are in it and in the last part it does refer a bit to his dope smoking, cruising etc. The first bits about Wham are lovely. It has more of George talking in it - not as stylish and polished a film as Freedom but more intimate and matey.

I never got the impression Boy George liked him tbh.

Each, I get that impression too, or at least, I think Boy George is somehow envious of him. Elton John says so too, George Michael had and was everything that BG wasn't but wanted to be.

honeyroar · 20/10/2017 23:12

I think BoyGeorge wasn't impressed that he hid his sexuality? BG was almost aggressively out in the 80s, whereas GM kind of cashed in on his female fans. I actually find it amazing looking back that a lot of us never guessed he was gay from the start!

I actually liked the YouTube linked film more. I followed it up with Pepsi, Shirley and Andrew's speech at the Brits, which I'd not seen. It was lovely too.

CeeBeeBee · 20/10/2017 23:38

None of Boy George's business what George Michael did with his sexuality, though. I found him very intrusive towards George Michael. George himself wasn't certain whether he was gay or bi and had a relationship with Kathy Jeung, who George described her as her first bonafide girlfriend, who knew about his sexuality.

honeyroar · 21/10/2017 00:06

I'm not saying it was his business, I just vaguely remember reading it somewhere.

CeeBeeBee · 21/10/2017 00:42

Yes, I did too Honey. I wasn't having a go.

CeeBeeBee · 21/10/2017 00:43

I just don't like Boy George piggybacking on George Michael's success and how he's trying to push the "Two Georges" thing.

Ahhh just watched this last night. SO unbelievably sad. I can't believe he's gone 😥 I have woken up with his songs going round my head.

LadyCassandra · 25/10/2017 11:38

I'm watching this in Australia now. Lost it at "Playing for Time"
It was Boxing Day here when I heard. I had my Bluetooth speaker on the beach and I played his songs all day. Cried so many times in the weeks that followed and I've never cried over a celebrity.
He was so incredibly talented and his songs have stood and will stand the test of time.

It was such a touching tribute to a fantasticly gifted young man. I found it hard to believe he had issues with his appearance, the man was an Adonis. I wish I could have seen him perform live. Always will be grateful to him for Heal The Pain, the lyrics helped me through some bleak times. RIP George, you were so very loved.
