I really don't understand why the TV show is so toned down compared to the comic.
It's a mainstream TV show but so was Sons of Anarchy,Game of thrones etc...
Just an example of shows that have no problem using sex,extreme violence and gore,nudity and bad language.
Looking forward to tonight's episode,It's Looking like it will be the best episode since the season 7 premier.

Does anybody else feel like they're just watching it still out of loyalty for how good it used to be?

DH and I have even discussed giving up on it completely

We were huge fans from day one but it's just not as gripping as it used to be. I used to hide behind a pillow for most of it. It was so tense! Now it's just...meh.

I was bored watching the episode. Yes there were zombies which was a bonus but they were the slowest zombies in the world. Nutella I'm with you it's all a bit meh

I’m loving this season. I’m also currently rewatching from the beginning and I’m well happy with the way it’s evolving. It was all ‘OMG, walker herd... hide!’ and now it’s ‘walkers, meh they’re at least 10 steps behind us man’. Why anyone would want that to stagnate is beyond me.

Me too, it has to move on, it cant just be endlessly killing walkers. Time has moved on, the walkers are rotting corpses by now! Still dangerous but not as much as in the begining unless newly dead.
People are the biggest threat, resources are scarcer, people will take what they can from anyone if they can beat them into submission or worse.

I am curious to see where its heading, I dont want to know spoilers or supposition, just want to go along 'with them'.

Green yes I agree. I’ve been rewatching from season 3 to get my fix. So much more exciting then the current series, which is a shame. I hope it improves.

I said to dp, the newly woken walkers should have been a lot faster than they were as they weren't rotten. Remember season 1? They were running.

Thought the tiger was silly right from the beginning but still sad to see it killed.

Yep we are sticking with it but getting bored. It needs to be rick and his gang. I’m not invested in the other settlements enough to care about them. Too many people now

He jumped into a pit to save her when it was needed and she returned the favour.

Second time that day Ezekiel was saved by a brave, loyal and beautiful woman he’d rescued and cared when they were injured.

One of them is still in his life to help him through it though. Thought it was very significant that Carol chose to save Ezekiel (and Jerry) over killing the Saviours.

Loved how Carol knew the cavalry was on the case just by recognising the sound of Daryl’s motorbike.

Another getting bored of it. I'm operating on 'I've started so I'll finish' viewing now. Spoke to two people in work today who have been avid fans. They 're heading the same way - disinterest.

And yet the bored people are still posting on walking dead threads and watching it.

I loved this ep with badass Carol in the ceiling and the car chase that was like an 80s action movie. Cried Shiva died but I lost my dog to cancer a few months ago and loyal animals make me extra weepy at the mo.

I love that this show gives us female characters that we feel safe with as much of not more than the males.

I’m not sure what channels GOT and SOA are on but I know in USA there’s a difference between network and cable etc. AMC is only just allowing TWD to say fuck so times are changing but they have such different rules to the UK.

I’m watching it because I have I just can’t get into it at all! They are all so fucking annoying!

I wasn't keen on the first couple of episodes of this season - gunfights leave me cold! But this episode pulled me right back in: the walkers were menacing, Carol was great, it was dramatic and exciting and moving.

The group have lost their original drive to discover more about the virus and it's now about creating a future but I kind of miss the old mission when they were on the move all the time.

I'm getting fed up with Daryls mumbling, I can't understand a word he says. He had about 3 words in last nights episode and I didn't understand one of them. Can anyone tell me what he said to Rick when they were looking down at the crashed jeep with the guns in?

I enjoyed it and would happily watch the next episode now! Not the best episode but pretty good. I was sad about shiva, even though it seemed stupid before having a tiger leaping to the rescue. Not sure why she didn't leap out of the pit, it felt like she should have made it. I loved the Jerry loyalty and when King E stood up with him to fight the walkers. If he gives up shaves his head and starts saying 'I aint no ruler' the whole time now it will feel a bit convenient for just merging a couple of kingdomers into the Rick gang. Hopefully Carol will rescue him again, I agree Miauu that it was a significant thing for her to do.

...unless the toxic spillage in the water affected Shiva? There was a meaningful close up. I think there has been toxic waste dumped in water shown before too? Could this be something to do with the virus?

PS did anyone else briefly wonder if Shiva would turn up as a zombie tiger in a hangover from GoT?

Thegirl, I think Daryl told Rick he looked like shit. Maybe it's an in joke because Daryl normally looks rough?
