Yeah he was in Holby and Doctors.

ArtfulPuss · 23/09/2017 07:39

I thought Abi was brilliant last night. Her face is so expressive.

And Keegan is so good at being surly and hostile that it made a nice change to see him really smile (without sneering).

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 07:48

Out of this whole sorry mess my hunch is Josh ( clarke kent) is one of the good guys - isnt aware of his dad's murky past ( josh is only about 23) and is already a bit suspicious of Max/ fancies lauren etc.
I think he will save the day.
Anyone on here not sure who Willmott brown is and the whole kathy back story, i suggest Wiki as there is a lot of old story lines on there and information, although they dont mention Josh ( not listed as a son)
Abi really did love physco Steve and i think he loved her too. the most warped star crossed lovers they have had for a while on EE. when will she start showing her pregnancy?

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 07:51

Keegan is also shaping up nicely to be the devil teen - he has lurked around for a while being nasty and he can now up the anti. he is a good little actor. Really menacing.

youarenotkiddingme · 23/09/2017 08:34

Yes Abi is an amazing actress. I've really enjoyed watching her grow from the quiet girl she was on the show into a young woman and watch her become a great actress. I'd like to think she'll go on to film and stage work in the future as I think she has an amazing career ahead of her.

Her simple delivery of the line "Steven was many things" was a great use of intonation and subtle humour.

Wish she hadn't gone in the funeral dress version of a toilet roll cover though Grin

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 08:36

Abi didnt buy that dress from kush did she?

youarenotkiddingme · 23/09/2017 08:38

Just reading wiki page on James Wilmott-Brown now.

So Luke and Fi are Browns and Josh is a Hemming.

It's says SOC introduced his character in 2017 so we are still on his storyline.

Interesting as well was the Queen Vic and Dagmar competed on "London in Bloom" competition.

I think SOC read wiki stories of EE more than we did Wink

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 08:43

They said on another forum that Josh is a Hemming as brown had an another relationship with a Wendy Hemming.

  • after his first wife died and burnt Sophie;s casserole i assume!
poor women getting involved with him.
youarenotkiddingme · 23/09/2017 08:49

Also just seen Sophie Wilmott-Brown and Josh Willmott-Brown have actually been characters on the show back back in 87 and 92. I was a child then and didn't watch it so this is why I don't remember any of this!
As mush as I think SOC is a tosser returning Sophie W-B as Fi Browning was actually clever!

I don't think Max knows about the past of these characters though as they didn't live in Walford then. Perhaps his sole link is that they feel/are wronged and his link to Walford is what attracted him to Luke?

Hopefully the new producer will make Max and Josh save the day and Lauren can finally have her happy ever after?

woodhill · 23/09/2017 09:08

So,where does Luke fit in as he looks older than Fi?

Hate the back pedalling stories in soaps. Neighbours does this

AGnu · 23/09/2017 09:16

I'm guessing that the current storylines/scripts are what got the last bloke fired. I can well imagine some of the actors threatening to walk if he stayed in charge! I would if my livelihood depended on the show!

I think both Josh & Fi/Phie are going to back out of their dad's plan & save the day. Josh seemed genuinely concerned that Max wasn't at the funeral & seems to care about Lauren. Fi has also started looking like she might be getting emotionally invested in the Carters.

I think I must've been too young to watch EE when WB was last in it but I've definitely seen a clip of the rape on YouTube. He seems like a really nasty piece of work & it wouldn't surprise me if he was trying to take over Walford just so he can lord it over all those who he thinks wronged him. He knows the Vic is the heart of the community so will really want to get his hands on it.

I'm really surprised that no-one has pointed out to Ian that he lied about his now-dead daughter having cancer to keep a woman. He doesn't have the moral high ground here at all! Instead of lingering on L when Lauren said "who lies about cancer?" they should've zoomed in on Ian having an "oh, that would be me..." moment!

nancy75 · 23/09/2017 09:18

Luke & Sophie were kids when he was in it before, Josh has been born since.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 23/09/2017 10:00

Who is the actor playing the other brother who came out of prison? It's really bugging me!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 23/09/2017 10:00

Luke?

gingina · 23/09/2017 10:07

Who lies about dying???
Well pretty much everyone in he square!!!
Angie lied to den about having 6 months to live, Ian lied to one of his ex wives (Tamsin Outhwaite???) about Lucy having cancer to keep her, then there's Kathy. Linda's lying the other way round and not telling Mick about her cancer!!!
The chat in the cafe was out of context - just a convenient way of setting the scene for WB to return.
It's shite
Yet still I watch it religiously!!!!

youarenotkiddingme · 23/09/2017 10:12

Was quite ironic.

Lauren: "who lies about having cancer"

Erm ....Stevens step dad Ian.

Lauren: "who lies about death?"

Erm.... Stevens step nan Kathy.

Not really a surprise that when you throw in Stevens biological parents he was the way he was Grin

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 10:15

They all lie all the time on EE - so much lying going on when Lucy was murdered too - hence the reason Max is now mixed up with the Doughnut brown lot!
its become exciting now,, although i still hate James and the fact its all reared its ugly head again, so soon after the whole Dean/ linda story.
i think its a wrong move, but hoping that Sophie and Josh see through it all.

gingina · 23/09/2017 10:33

Yes Sophie and Josh will be the goodies in the end and stop the baddies from taking down the vic!!! Saw that coming a mile off Grin

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 10:39

To the person asking about Kathy Beale ( Mitchell) yes, she was raped when she was 14 and had a daughter, Donna. Donna showed up on the square to find her real mum and they had a sort of relationship - nick cotton was trying to blackmail Kathy at the time as she was trying to keep it all quiet, but it all came out, as these things do.
As soap characters go, she is a pretty tragic one - pete beale didnt believe her that Doughnut brown did rape her ( believed that she led him on as she worked for him) and Gavin has also been nasty - pretending to be dead etc etc. She was married to Phil and had Ben ( murderer) and phil was also drinking at that time as well. She hasnt had it easy.

50Sometimes · 23/09/2017 11:13

Re. benefits. It occurs to me through all the murder and mayhem, EE is very moral about claiming benefits. Denise nearly starved refusing to claim benefits until she got totally desperate. Recently we've had the Chav Family Nice Boy refusing to claim benefits though he's entitled as his mum kept telling him. But like Denise he had his pride and refused. I probably wouldn't murder anyone, have an affair with a married man, pretend to be dead, pretend to have cancer, shove a policeman, burn down a restaurant, etc etc. But I might claim benefits I was entitled to Hmm.

One other storyline I've liked is the birthday one. Chav Family Bad Boy (sorry I'm terrible at names) was angry and moaning about his lack of money for designer trainers the other day. yeah, parents of teen boys we've all been there Grin. however, in last night's episode he won £20 on a scratch card, and his mum made him a cake for his birthday. Cue big grin and happiness. Yeah, the mum showed her love by making him a cake, you don't need much money for love. Quite a touching little sub-plot.

iknowimcoming · 23/09/2017 11:15

Nearly time for a new thread!

So mr big said it was time to take back the pub so tell the carters the explosion caused damage and they'd need to stump up buckets of cash for repairs and they haven't got cash so they'd need to give the pub back - surely if the carters only have the leasehold now they wouldn't be responsible for repairs as they don't technically own the building? But they had to sell the freehold to pay for the roof repairs in the first place so maybe they are - I don't get it Confused. Who was our resident pub expert? Can you explain how that works please Smile

iknowimcoming · 23/09/2017 11:20

I agree 50! I quite like the Taylor's and Keegan is obviously going to be a bad boy turned good, he was really kind to shaki the other day with the heart condition thing. I also quite like the idea of the wilmott brown return (although he is vile) as it actually makes some kind of sense in a roundabout sort of way, hopefully the new guy can make a decent story out of it.

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 11:27

The Taylors are alright really - it was nice to see Keegan smile and he was nice to Shakil too. re pub politics, we need Oreocrumb on the case to let us know where they stand regards repairs. its a very old building so probably needs a lot of work anyway, probably underpinning and all kinds of things ( dons high vis jacket, as if i know anything about underpinning!)
They will just tell the Carters, pay up or move on. i wouldnt be surprised to see Babe back too to hurry it all along, she has a big axe to grind with them too.

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2017 11:38

50 sometimes ( i like your username) yes, they are so moral about claiming things they are entitled to, but lying and murder and extortion , thats all fine.

50Sometimes · 23/09/2017 11:49

... though, thinking about it 80s ... it might allude to that old East End pride thing, we don't need nuffink from no-one, familys all that counts, etc etc.

re. Abi, I also still think the actress is v. good, v film noir sometimes (the scene in the kitchen with Steven was a bit like BodyHeat with Kathleen Turner!)
