Dr Foster is back on Tuesday

I vaguely remember this. Can someone jog my memory please? Also how did it end ?

OP posts:

Thank god for the iplayer. I fastforwarded the scene in the teenager's garden and bedroom, I don't think I ever cringed so much at the TV show. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Ikeameatballs · 13/09/2017 21:28

I hate the nude shoes too! I just don't think she would wear them with those outfits!

CakeNinja · 13/09/2017 21:29

Well yes, she did leap to conclusions pretty quickly, but the programme had to start somewhere and somehow Confused
Would have been pretty dull having 3 weeks worth of finding a lip balm and then nothing, then finding a hair and then nothing.

2rebecca · 13/09/2017 22:08

I haven't noticed any of the shoes. I just don't look at shoes. Thought keeping her bra on was weird, more that he hadn't removed it although his whole personality doesn't ring true so one other strange action doesn't matter

Maudlinmaud · 13/09/2017 22:55

Next time you watch this. Watch Simons mouth! I really hope someone makes a gif of it, I've never seen the like Grin

SuckingEggs · 13/09/2017 23:07

The point about the hair is that he was cheating. So she wasn't that deranged, after all.

Maudlinmaud · 13/09/2017 23:14

I think something is going to happen at Rozs wedding.

RWBY · 13/09/2017 23:25

Just catching up so may have missed other posts, but did anyone else think she might seduce her son's friend?! It was so uncomfortable to watch, laughing at his dancing, asking him for wine, practically all over the sofa and then questioning about her son's sex life

CanIBuffalo · 13/09/2017 23:28

I've decided I physically can't watch it for cringing.
Can someone kind (and stronger of stomach) please do a plot summary after Episode 3?

EnidButton · 13/09/2017 23:48

Maud I couldn't take my eyes off it! whilst wanting to smack him in it

EnidButton · 13/09/2017 23:54

Bertie and Jodie are fab actors.

I really like Jodie. She was incredibly good in that drama about an abduction. (Think it was called 13) She should be in this more.

Maudlinmaud · 13/09/2017 23:54

Enid it was crazy, right? Weirdly hypnotic. I wonder if it's part of the character or some sort of odd tick he has. If it's deliberate it show's attention to detail.

SuckingEggs · 13/09/2017 23:57

I'm enjoying it! Love this mad stuff. It's drama, not a documentary 😄

EnidButton · 14/09/2017 00:00

I don't remember him doing it in Strange and Norrell although that whole thing was weird so perhaps he blended in. I'm sure he's lovely in rl but christ that smug face!

JuneJuly · 14/09/2017 00:17

I watched last week and last night and don't really know what to think of it! Confused

I've read this thread and noticed pps speculating about the teacher maybe being a plant - not sure what to think of that either, think it could go either way, he could have been put up to it but could also just be genuine. I would wonder why someone who is obviously a real teacher would allow themselves to get involved in such games against a woman that they know nothing about. On the other hand, it seemed to stand out in last week's episode, during Kate's speech at the party, when she said 'Gemma and....oh, sorry, I didn't catch your name' . I thought straight away that she was sort of acting like she didn't know him but actually did.

No doubt just reading too much into that though Grin

I'm gonna keep watching cos I'm expecting some sort of twist but I can't understand why the end of last week's episode seemed to be setting everything up as if she was formulating some clever plan and then this week she's just running round like a headless chicken!

elfinpre · 14/09/2017 03:14

I can't believe it's the same actor who was in Strange and Norrell! He was quite attractive in that.

elfinpre · 14/09/2017 03:15

last week's episode seemed to be setting everything up as if she was formulating some clever plan and then this week she's just running round like a headless chicken!

I think with Gemma Foster there is always a bit of both at the same time.

NotAgainYoda · 14/09/2017 05:37

Maudlin

yy to Simon's Mouth

mydogisthebest · 14/09/2017 08:40

SuckingEggs, yes he was cheating but why would a woman who thought she had a happy marriage and whose husband had never, as far as knew, been unfaithful jump to conclusions that quickly. The story line could have been that she had reason to suspect him.

Maybe I am just picky but in the first series both me and DH thought how far fetched it was that she went into crazy mode so quickly. This series she is even crazier but I guess it's just the bad writing.

The bit where she turns up for the meal at the other GP's home. She answers the door seeming flustered, looks all surprised at Gemma standing there and says "Oh you're early", Gemma replies "Only 5 minutes" and she agrees yes 5 minutes! What on earth is that all about? Do people never arrive 5 minutes early or late? Do 5 minutes matter that much?

entitledmuch1 · 14/09/2017 08:51

Anyone else think Sians son is actually Simon's? They were at uni together afterall.

entitledmuch1 · 14/09/2017 08:52

I also think Simon told Tom about Neil and that Gemma told him she'd killed Tom hence why he hit her.

That would really make Tom think his dad wasnt all bad.

joolspoon · 14/09/2017 09:16

Omg entitled! That would be a twist

SinisterBumFacedCat · 14/09/2017 09:35

If anyone else writes 'that's another hour of my super important life that I'll never get back' I'll scream.
^^ Amen to this!

Similarly i am keeping an excel spreadsheet of anyone who says "I'm not watching anymore" in case they turn up later on the thread to comment on the last episode. I'm only joking, I'm crap at excel

CatastropheKate · 14/09/2017 09:47

I'm guessing that the birthday present box contains a little slip of paper saying 'Simon is infertile' and maybe her son did open it which is why it was under his bed, and explains why he has moved out.

Greenbucket · 14/09/2017 09:51

It's amazing. Addictive nonsense. I love it.
