Just watched it. I'm a bit Shock right now. Will quickly read the thread

gingergenius · 07/08/2017 21:58

I'm thinking poison on the giant crossbow arrow. Jon snow to marry danaerys. Jamie survived brown didn't. The people of kings landing ask to surrender because they have no food and revolt against cercei and Jamie is the one to do her in.

ImListening · 07/08/2017 21:59

Brilliant Guinefort - that would be brilliant but I think that Arya would want Cersei to know it's her doing the killing from the start. I think cersei would underestimate Arya

christmasunicorn · 07/08/2017 22:06

Loved the Arya and Brienne scene! I interpreted Sansa face as that sibling look of disapproving pride. You know where you look and think omg she's been back for five minutes and she bloody fighting again/ oh yeah, I got my sister back and she's fricken awesome / go Arya! Go Arya! Go Arya/ what a show off. Siblings with a love/hate relationship look!

The end scene - omg! Tyrion has been watching - he will not let Jamie die! With Bronn as well, I'm hoping he convinces them to switch sides from Cersie. Bronn is a sell sword and was loyal to tyrion first. I'd love to see that reunion as they were great together.

Oh it was just fantastic. I reckon Bran gave Arya the dagger to kill Cersie, like Cersie tried to use it to kill Bran. I thought it was interesting him asking littlefinger about who's it was, testing his loyalty and truth because clearly Bran already knows who it belongs to cos he knows everything. And now he knows that little finger is untrustworthy.

PMSL at "has he never read The Secret Garden?" Grin

ABCFamily · 07/08/2017 22:09

Bran completely freaked out Littlefinger by quoting his own words ('Chaos is a ladder.') back at him. I think Littlefinger will now try and kill Bran to stop him revealing Littlefinger's role in Ned's death and effectively starting the war. This assassination attempt will ultimately be Littlefinger's undoing; he'll be stopped by Arya, and sentenced to death by Sansa.

You read it here first Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/08/2017 22:15

Maybe Daenerys was purposefully missing Jaime with the fire to spare Tyrion's feelings. After all, he was quite clearly the commander there and I bet she knew who he was. or she just has really shit aim

If they rescue Jaime he has to decide once and for all whether he's Team Cersei or Team Tyrion. That would make interesting viewing!

gingergenius · 07/08/2017 22:17

So many loose ends:

Benjin stark
The hound
Yara greyjoy
Gendry baratheon
The mountain - god knows SOMEONE has to take him down!

Cercei has to die this series, surely? Love the idea of arya shape shifting into Jaime and then revealing herself last minute, but the did that with Frey so maybe that's old hat!

Only 3 more episodes. Live love love this series! Watched it twice today already (as well as bawling my eyes out over 'dunkirk')

gingergenius · 07/08/2017 22:17

@ABCFamily - yes. bean is the secret weapon in this I'm sure!

gingergenius · 07/08/2017 22:18

BRAN not Bean! Doh!

christmasunicorn · 07/08/2017 22:18

I think she took the dothraki to prove she has an army to be feared. Or two armies as the unsullied are holding castly rock. Plus the dothraki do love a fight so I bet they were getting itchy feet on that island anyway

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/08/2017 22:18

Thinking about it, maybe the Dothraki had to go so they could round up prisoners (so they can be offered a chance to switch sides) plus collect unburnt food. Hmm at the way the gold has conveniently already made it to KL, though!

ABCFamily · 07/08/2017 22:19

ImListening - Do you think Cersei would even remember who Arya was though? I mean, she hasn't seen her since the first series. Did she even send out scouts to look for her after Ned was decapitated.

Part of me would really enjoy seeing Arya monologue to Cersei about how she thought she was Noone, but remembered she was Arya Stark each time she recited her hit list, only for Cersei to not remember her whatsoever.

nigelsbigface · 07/08/2017 22:20

ABC I think your theory might actually be bang on! I hadn't thought about bran now being able to see Littlefingers past and his part in Neds death... if that isn't what happens then it bloody should be.Bravo!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/08/2017 22:21

Drogon= intimidation. Burn a few things/soldiers, hope the rest surrender. If you burn them all you're no better than the Mad King/nothing new.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/08/2017 22:23

Cersei might not recognise Arya, but she will definitely recognise her name.

christmasunicorn · 07/08/2017 22:25

Just watched next weeks trailer. Looks like bran is becoming useful at last

WestleyAndButtockUp · 07/08/2017 22:29

Thronecast:

"Jon takes Danerys into the Cave of Convenience." "The Cave is a literal plot-hole; a hole with the plot contained within it..."

PurpleBurtle · 07/08/2017 22:43

I was on the edge of my sofa watching that Battle scene. I don't think Jaime is at his end yet, but nice parallel of him falling and Bran falling.
I agree with a previous poster that I think Ayra will be the one to kill Cersi with that dagger and that's why Bran gave it to her.

GoldenKelpie · 07/08/2017 23:05

I was sad to realise that Bran is no longer Bran as we knew him, he's been taken over by that old man in the cave. I think he was sad about it too, when he said "thank you" to Meera. He's just so remote now.

Loved the episode though, was watching though hands as Jaime aimed the crossbow at the dragon "noooooo!" I shouted at the screen.

InvisibleCities · 07/08/2017 23:32

I felt a bit short-changed by the end scene tbh. Really, Jamie should have died, and Bronn too, and that would have been epic. But no, it was another plot armour thing. It makes me feel sorry for Ned/Catelyn/Robb Stark - they've given nearly all the main characters after season 2 iron clad plot armour!

yumyumpoppycat · 07/08/2017 23:32

I loved the winterfell scenes. I wanted a big Stark family reunion with Jon last week, but actually this was better because it just emphasised how changed Bran and Arya are in particular. Sansa was genuinely happy to see Arya at first whereas Arya was initially stiff and suspicious, but Sansa became more suspicious as soon as she heard about the list of people to kill. Is Sansa worried that she is on the list, or jealous that Arya actually has a list and is acting on it? I think Sansa flounced off during the fencing session either because Arya is showing Littlefinger she is dangerous and/or because Arya is now another person to worry about.

So we now have Checkov's dagger to add to the scrolls. If the dagger started the war maybe it will end it too. Clearly Bran knows who Arya will kill with the dagger and he seemed a little reluctant when he actually gave it to her. Does valerian steel kill the dead? Does that mean it could be a white walker she uses it on or the Night King maybe?

Yamayo · 07/08/2017 23:43

I think Sansa thought the list was wishful thinking but watching Arya fight she suddenly realised the potential implications.
Although VERY annoyed no-one in the North has yet to mention the annihilation of House Frey- surely Arya could have told her siblings (even though Bran clearly knows).

Nitpick about the Cave of Convenience. Didn't they say last season the Children created the walkers to fight off the First Men? Now they were all fighting a common enemy all along?

And Davos has joined Bronn as comedy king.
The sly comments about Danaerys, the 'fewer' moments, his talk of swapping sides... he's the best.

And finally I can't with dragons. Regardless of mad Cersei it's basically the equivalent of attack by nuclear weapons. And the burning the food?
Thanks for starving Kings Landing Dany. You might as well have flamed the Red Keep.

Refilona · 08/08/2017 00:06

What is the point of having Gendry on the show? Where has he been and will we see him again?

nocoolnamesleft · 08/08/2017 00:23

Is it just me, or did they start the charge rather too far back, so the horses would be tiring by the time they hit the shield wall? They'd also surely have lost fewer Dothraki if they'd pincered round the unprotected flanks, rather than crashing directly into the spears? Oh, and I've obviously watched too much Sharpe. I could hear the ghost of Ned Stark yelling "Form square!" "Form square!"
