Haven't seen the trailer but I'd imagine so, I think it's a totally different plot so you might miss a bit of the main characters back story but easy enough to Google I should think.

Found Nicole Kidman's false teeth quite distracting but I think it helped that I only just finished watching the 1st series and the first episode of that was very 'wtf?' as well (still not sure what was going on with the Holly Hunter character ).
