I've watched the first two episodes. It's is very different.

I'm on board with most of it. The only thing I object to massively is the recasting of a character from the previous series and that this character does something that doesn't fit with my imagined narrative for him/her.

Who did they re cast?

I agree EllaHen I thought it was really lazy writing - I'd recently rewatched the first series and when I watched the flashback scene I felt like it was shoehorned in quickly just to move the story along, the whole feel of it made absolutely no sense.

I'm watching episode 2 just now and will probably catch another before the kids get back. Have to say that I'm not enjoying it as much as I am intrigued. There's a pretty massive coincidence going on there and I'm having to suspend quite a lot of disbelief at all the circumstances!

YY to the vile misogyny, Nicole Kidman's teeth (and skin - are those supposed to be freckles or blemishes?). Finding Gwendoline's acting a bit oh golly gosh.

However, Elisabeth Moss is amazing as ever.

I think that relationship had to end as Robin moved back to the city. This particular story had to be an urban setting and Johnno said in the first series that he couldn't go to Australia as he had a conviction.

How they did it was clunky but there needed to be a reason why she came back to live in Australia, I guess.

Can't understand why they would go to all the time and expense of getting the NZ cast together to then make a bit of a hash of it.
