Glastonbury - Anyone watching?

Loved Elbow earlier on.

Watching Radiohead brings back memories. Went through a phase of listening to them morning noon and night c. 20 years ago. They're brilliant but quite dark.

I remember being on the Kanye West thread here a few years ago when we ripped the piss out of him.

What does everyone think so far?

Its the loopy thing (explained on other thread)

SinisterBumFacedCat · 25/06/2017 22:57

Chic and Barry Gibb were amazing. Looks like the stall doing face painting and glitter has cleaned!

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2017 23:26

I liked him too Apple. Nadia Rose was great as well, so cool.

NormaSmuff · 25/06/2017 23:33

London grammar is pretty good

twostepsister · 26/06/2017 06:46

I love Anderson Paak Apple especially 'Am I wrong' which was one of my favourite tracks from last year. I missed Solange Knowles set and couldn't find it on the iplayer, love her style and voice. I will be catching up on some of the acts later

NormaSmuff · 26/06/2017 08:32

catching up on Barry Gibb. wonderful

MinesaPinot · 26/06/2017 08:56

Violetcharlotte I'm still buzzing at how good they were. Downloaded the Best of the Foo Fighters from iTunes last night and happily re-lived the set on the train to work this morning Smile

Hadn't realised they had a new album out and will be looking out for UK dates (fingers crossed).

AppleYumYum · 26/06/2017 17:44

Gosh when he sauntered on to stage with those sunglasses and the biggest smile ever seen I thought hmm this is going to be good! GrinWish I could move like that.

I would love to go one year, but I do like watching it on as the bbc tv coverage is so thorough that you see all sorts of acts that if you were on foot you wouldn't get to see.

Hulababy · 26/06/2017 18:23

fussy No backing track. It is a loop station, all done live.

whirlycurly · 27/06/2017 21:21

Fussychica I went through a phase of watching coldplay's Glastonbury set repeatedly last year whenever I felt a bit stressed Grin
Then we actually went to see them earlier this year - they were awesome!

The80sweregreat · 28/06/2017 07:07

I thought that the year Coldplay headlined was very good - they are a bit more cheerful than Radiohead, although i do like both.
ED was okay, maybe in a few decades time he will be doing the sunday afternoon slot.
I just enjoy watching any band, seeing so many people having fun and singing along and looking happy , that also cheers me up. Its a shame some of the smaller festivals are not televised.

twostepsister · 28/06/2017 10:51

Ed is incredibly talented no denying that but closing Glastonbury was short sighted of the organisers. How could the lad top the mighty Barry Gibb and Chic? Nile and co should have closed the festival on a disco high

LightastheBreeze · 28/06/2017 20:06

DS went to Glastonbury and thought that out of everything Chic were the best and should have closed it, Foo Fighters were brilliant, he said. He was disappointed with Ed Sheeran as he was really looking forward to it but it was a bit average. He though Barry Gibb was good also

twostepsister · 28/06/2017 20:38

Your son has excellent taste LightastheBreeze 😉

Leo35 · 28/06/2017 21:45

RE-watched Chic on i-player. They were fabulous, such a great band and the whole set built up so well. They would have been a great closing act. I have made my DSs watch (and learn, bairns) the set.

The80sweregreat · 28/06/2017 22:10

My son thinks Nile is a god! He loves him and chic and he is only 20. Knows more than me and it was my era!
It was a good, set. Very cheerful.
