Little Mr Big was in Doctors and Holby City.

Akire · 25/05/2017 22:47

WAsnt sure where they are going with the public message. Surely if you eat healthy once diagnosed and keep any meds on right level you can manage? I mean I know people get infected cuts n feet and can lose that way but made it sound like once you have a diagnoses that's it blindness, limbles regardless of what you may do.

iknowimcoming · 25/05/2017 23:59

I also love Whit's End - needs to be in the next new thread title me thinks Grin

Theycalledmethewildrose · 26/05/2017 01:26

I mean Clark can't run the entire business at like 25.

I'm not sure how he managed to work at all without Lauren and her pearls of wisdom wooing the clients by throwing out the 'chicken shops' comment. Before long, she will be promoted as Max's boss.

I'm sure this is all leading to her finding out about the plans to demolish Albert Square and divided loyalties - her friends and family v her highflying 'career'.

Billy and Honey's party was the most realistic gathering I've ever seen on the square. It was exactly right - people trying to make small talk just because they ended up sitting together, the kids being there (they are ALWAYS sent off), the host trying too hard.

Abi is quite a good actress I think, she has a few layers of being utterly silly to being quite vindictive. She's an interesting character. Will Max 'get back at her' too. I'm sure he will. How will he get revenge on Ian and Jane - it has to be more than economic ruin? We already know by his hand in removing Matthew from Jack, that he is out to hurt people emotionally as well. Will it be something like taking Louis from them?

I find myself switching off entirely when it comes to the public service announcements. I am now always on my laptop and only pay attention to some parts of each episode. I remember when I'd make a cup of tea and become completely engrossed in it. I like not being a slave to it anymore though.

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 06:48

hate, i thought that about the sushi dinner - just yuk! Cant she see what he is doing? 'oh lovely lauren, buy a dress ' ' work late and eat raw fish with me, we're not really that busy' then he drives her home! I didnt have Lauren down as that much of an air head, but she is. His voice would put me off and that weird body of his, he doesnt have a neck!
Abi is underused, her digs at Steven were spot on and she does have her dads dark side - when she ran over her dog Tramp , she was chilling. She has potential to be the next Babe.

youarenotkiddingme · 26/05/2017 07:04

Yeah I thought Abi was quite vindictive tonight too! She's actually quite dry in her delivery and I think she could be good at comedy given a chance.

And wtaf with the diabetes? Again - a good message which is an important one in today's society lost totally in a display of overreaction less subtle than a flashing neon light!

I recognised the prison bloke too!

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 07:16

They must have auditioned for many more extras this year -
'you can be the one with diabetes'
'you can be the nice helpful lady in the job centre' etc etc.
The budget must have been blown.

babykite · 26/05/2017 07:48

It thought that Mr big had a striking resemblance to Josh, he is the one that owns Grafton hill but nobody knows that max is involved with them too.
I actually hate abi, she is dire. Can happily throw out words to make Steven paranoid but couldn't stand up to babe and happily faked a pregnancy and miscarriage or did everyone forget that part.

Ariawyn · 26/05/2017 08:00

I'm sure this is all leading to her finding out about the plans to demolish Albert Square and divided loyalties - her friends and family v her highflying 'career'.

Got to be

qazxc · 26/05/2017 08:57

It's less of a soap than a giant public health warning on diabetes. Yawn

HateSummer · 26/05/2017 09:26

I'm sure this is all leading to her finding out about the plans to demolish Albert Square and divided loyalties - her friends and family v her highflying 'career'.

Yes! They love using Lauren like this.

I'm getting confused by all these people Max is meeting. Maybe jail man is Clark kent's dad?
The way they're building up to this story, I just know it's going to be an anti climax with the way things are going

His voice would put me off and that weird body of his, he doesnt have a neck!
😂😂 this made me laugh! He's got a Marty McFly thing about him.

I think Abi has learnt a lot from Babe. She became more vindictive whilst working with her! It's good because I don't think there's a female villain in it atm.

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 09:39

When Lauren got out of Josh's car, she didnt look around or do any of the things you do when you get out of a car normally - just swanned off. considering she knows everyone on the square, you would think she would be a bit more aware - it would look suspicious to anyone seeing them together surely? She must know that he fancies her? ( even if it is an evil plot) that his behaviour isnt the norm? grrr.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/05/2017 09:50

Lauren is a complete tit. I've just realised what this whole Max 2- The Revenge shtick is all about. The new producer is using it as away to sweep the cockney working class element of the show and turn it into bloody HollyoakesSad The pub and market are doomed.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/05/2017 09:52

Oops I see you all worked that out three pages ago....

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 10:08

I did read on facebook that the Max revenge story might go on for a few years yet.
The Lucy murder one went on for nearly 2 i think and we all grew fed up with that rumbling on - the only ones i can see him targeting next is Jane and Ian - maybe Abi but who else has upset him in the past?
hmm, i have never watched Hollyoakes at all - maybe the mini mart will turn into an expensive chi chi type place ( that sells big olives for a fiver a pot and ham on the bone) They will all start buying Boden tops on line and the new age yuppies will move in.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/05/2017 10:15

I don't watch Hollyoaks either its rage inducing Grin arf at Boden tops! From the odds snippets I've seen, HO is just full of Lauren type characters. And a couple of Kim types throw in.

DameSquashalot · 26/05/2017 10:15

I've just caught up on last night's episode.

It was awful...and how predictable was the red wine on the carpet.

They really need to stop with the PSAs. I may need to start a spreadsheet of what's been covered.

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 10:19

Dame, we like spreadsheets ( will don glasses to have a look when its done)
mind you, i did laugh when Shirley said that Honey's carpet was now more 'minky nightmares' - writers, stop making Shirley all upset about her ungrateful son and make her the really funny one again. Her and Kim would be a scream , if you let them.
Hollyoakes sounds grim, do the girls all have straight blond hair , wear cold shoulder tops and wang on about footballers being 'fit'. sounds that type of show.

woodhill · 26/05/2017 10:21

At least we were spared " I've got one GCSE Denise" (expecting Maureen Lipman, oh you've got an 'ology type theme) boring us.

Yes Abbie is mean

The80sweregreat · 26/05/2017 10:29

Oh yes, Dee hasnt had a run in with a nice lady or man for a while now.
She must be doing another exam soon.

I bet her results will be read out on Breakfast news with the kids they round up to do the whole looking at their results and hugging each other ( mid august time) She will be there embracing her 9 or 7 or whatever it is these days.

iknowimcoming · 26/05/2017 17:25

I thought Abbie was the only one who stood by max - well at least she did until he tried to frame her for Lucy's murder - then she disowned him (understandably) so I would assume Abbie is the only one who is safe from his evil plans? Unless I've forgotten some vital plot point ...........

Justanothersingledoutnumber · 26/05/2017 17:27

You'd think so iknow butThe Carters did nothing either.

Akire · 26/05/2017 18:03

I hope mike face is not still giving it the moan tonight. What exactly has he lost? So it may cost him x% per week in takings. It's hardly like it was such a succefull business to start with. They barely ever had any money for anything.

Thought Abi was good she wasn't stiring that much just saying what we all thought.

Did anyone else laugh at the so easy rip off wallpaper so can see boards underneath? Has no one on set ever tried to remove real wallpaper? On plus side least hideous parrots have now gone.

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 26/05/2017 20:15

The new people are a bundle of laughs. They'll fit right in.

Love Dot's comedy phone call to Charlie. Ridiculous!

Lineyy · 26/05/2017 20:19

I guess Denise hasn't spotted the dodgy Romeo and Juliet question yet on her exam paper.
