The trouble with Danny Dyer is he wants to be a film star diva on a soap. He doesn't really get that on a soap it's more akin to the working life the rest of us have: turning up day in and day out, keeping your head down and getting the job done, Adam Woodyatt style. Danny thinks everyone should have time to pander to his tantrums and indulge his histrionics, as happens with the top-flight stars.

I suppose its true, its different doing a few films with a long break in between ( and more money too i guess) but soaps must be a slog - up early, learning lines on the quick ( unless your sausage, he doesnt have to learn much) etc etc. i am not knocking it at all - it must be hard going and some actors are clearly better to deal with this ( or have long breaks then come back or whatever) but thats the job and i guess they have to suck it up, as they say.

Do they really have to learn their lines though? I presumed they'd have people at the sides telling them what to say and they memorise a scene at a time at most, run over and check or get prompted the next few lines etc?

i dont know really - the actress who played Dawn swann was on a programme about Dyslexia and she said she had trouble reading the lines - had to use different methods to remember them all. I just assumed that they had to learn the majority of them at least. ( or make them up in DD's case!)
They should make a documentary about how they make soaps - could be interesting.

Exactly if she came with a trolley load of food Denise would have acted the same. Can't see Patrick pension going that far.
