It is a really depressing storyline even for Eastenders! Those bullies really need their comeuppance soon, it's gone on far too long. Hopefully it'll all come to a head after this happening to Louise.

The80sweregreat · 05/05/2017 09:13

Just, Denise gave the baby up for adoption. he will probably return in around 15 or so years time.
Denise has been really poor and up against it before, she was stealing then from the mini mart and attacked Patrick. you would have thought she would have learnt a bit of money management back then, she isnt stupid and is one of the more intelligent ones on it - sometimes!

troodiedoo · 05/05/2017 12:09

I like how the bullying story has been going on for a long time and portrays the helplessness victims feel. Other programs have shown it as easily solvable. It's very hard to watch though, I was tempted to turn off last night.

From the way she was acting, Louise was high and not just drunk.

Optimist1 · 05/05/2017 13:01

The bullying storyline also shows different aspects of bullying - the out and out baddies (Madison, Alexandra, Keegan), the going-along-for-the-ride bullies who are sometimes bullied themselves (Louise, Shaki) and the people who see it all happening but do nothing about it. In spite of all the shortcomings in other storylines I think the scriptwriters have done this well.

gingina · 05/05/2017 13:32

@Optimist1 I agree. It's good that they show that bullies don't just stop when they get caught. They move on to another victim and carry on. Louise only wants to be friends with them to stop herself getting bullied, same with Shaki and keegan.
I think it's been well done.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/05/2017 13:49

Was Shaki at the party?

I guess Bex will have saved Louise's life so they can kiss and make up now.

The producers don't need to treat the audience as if we are super thick. Two or three episodes of showing Louise as anti alcohol before her drinks are spiked with alcohol. Two or three episodes showing Denise in poverty before she does something drastic rent out a room , the in between episodes are like fillers, and there is no need to spoon feed the viewers and labouring the points as if we don't understand, it is a bit insulting really.

The80sweregreat · 05/05/2017 14:31

caught up and it was grim indeed - however, i had to smile at Bex coming to the rescue of someone in need - reminded me of her mum. Maybe Bex will turn to nursing?
I agree that the bullying stories have been done well , mostly, l although signposting everything as they do isn't really needed. It ends up like a Casualty episode.
I do not understand why Denny seems to just wander around on his own - Sharon is too busy with her bff chelle to be bothered with him much it seems. I didnt see Shaki at the party, only Keegan ( who is really scary i think)

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2017 14:56

The sandwich but annoyed me. Was shouting at the TV buy a whole loaf of bread and cheese :ham

Travis seems nice and cares for Lou. Bex was lovely and caring to LOUISE at end

Lou prob has alcohol poisoning

Shaz and shell in the pub for hours while the party raged

I was struggling with times, itvwas day light yet Lou as in pjs! Why would you either be in pjs all day or change at 4/5. Surely you know mates aren't going arrive in theirs as they aren't 4!

The80sweregreat · 05/05/2017 15:06

I do not understand why Denise doesnt ask Kush or Kim for some help?

They seem oblivious to the fact that not having a job for over a month equates to a lack of funds - its as if they think she is still working. I know that she is trying to be independent and not ask, but you would by now surely? She could try for some benefits, at least get the wheels in motion ( not sure how long sanctions are for, but money will kick in once that time is done i think) she hasnt actually done anything much ( the cleaning job would have been something to see her through as well) Its all very odd!

Akire · 05/05/2017 15:09

WAS going say noones been in hospital for 5min then realised Lou was about to be blue lighted. They do like their money's worth on set so Denise can eat bin food-get food posioning- end up hospital- crisis revealed!

The80sweregreat · 05/05/2017 15:18

It might open with Louise in the special room that they have just for Walford residents ( last occupied by Phil at new year)
i really really hope that this is the last of those horrible girls - i want the book to be thrown at them and a mouthful from Sharon ( who can be scary when she is in full flow!) Or , even better, Shirley!

iknowimcoming · 05/05/2017 15:39

Presumably Phil can come back now as that's what happens in eastenders - person has accident/becomes ill then relative from abroad comes flying to their rescue Grin

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/05/2017 17:18

Yeah the relatives come back if ill but willing even go to their parent's funerals!

Louise was in her pjs as the bullies told her they were coming for a girls night in - pjs/face masks etc. Why on earth Louise didn't get suspicious when they refused to change clothes/put on make up etc - is anyone's guess.

lazymum99 · 05/05/2017 17:25

Teenage pj sleepover on school night? Which turns into full scale party (on school night).

Denny just wandering around on his own.

Party in full swing so must be late evening and Jack returns from kids party with Ricky (7/8 years old).

Really weird timing.

Maybe I'm just very old fashioned but how come these kids just go out and about to parties etc on school nights.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/05/2017 17:30

Yes I'm expecting a tanned Phil to come back now to sort it aht.

I'm sure when Louise first came on the scene she was a mouthy, streetwise teenager, full of attitude. She's now morphed into a naive gullible girl. Perhaps the bullies have such a hold over her but I can't imagine you wouldn't notice you're being plied with alcohol? It would be more believable if her drink was spiked as someone suggested.

The other kids filming it all was awful. I've no doubt that goes on all the time at parties these days. Imagine waking up with a hangover and seeing yourself drunk on You Tube or whatever the morning after. Shock

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/05/2017 18:05

Yes poor Denny. Sharon's not winning mum of the year anytime soon. Grin
Has she mentioned to Denny that they're building a house in Italy? Phil joining the Italian mafia is the only explanation for all this money they seem to have. Confused

troodiedoo · 05/05/2017 18:09

Sharon used to proper smother denny, since he's got a new head she cba with him Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/05/2017 18:22

She only liked spending time with him when he had all that blonde floppy hair. Hmm

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/05/2017 18:32

Sorry my typing was all over the place and my post didn't make sense.

The two bullies pestered Louise to go for a sleepover which Sharon agreed to as she was trying to make up to Louise for being drunk a few days earlier. The bullies planned the party but didn't let on to Louise, hence she opened the door to them in her pjs etc.

I agree with pp about Louise's change in personality. Making birthday cakes??? Really??? Letting them put in make up without looking in the mirror? Really?? We saw a softer side when Phil got sick. It is probably true that when she is being bullied herself that she in turn is horrible to Denny though. Denny was supposed to be at Ian and Jane's, both responsible parents who would not have let him just go home at whatever time he wanted.

southeastdweller · 05/05/2017 18:49

I'm over the bullies story. I don't care that it's realistic, I don't watch EE for realism. Agree with others that it's likely coming to an end soon, thankfully, now that Phil's precious daughter's been harmed indirectly by Alexandra and Madison.

iknowimcoming · 05/05/2017 19:44

I think Denny was supposed to be at Ben and Jays so would explain slightly lax attitude to his whereabouts I guess

Akire · 05/05/2017 20:01

The party was just to get Lou in trouble and get videos. Sharon was only going out for few hours so didn't leave them much scope unless her and Sharon were going sleep somewhere else?

youarenotkiddingme · 05/05/2017 20:07

I make a huge quorn casserole that costs about £4 for 6 portions and team it with rice or mash that costs about £2 for all portions!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/05/2017 20:21

Why would Denise spend all her money on a tube ticket to get to her class? Just skip the class Denise and go and buy a loaf.
