Do you think there will be any repercussions from Huntley having a swab taken from her wound? Surely there must be some DNA from Tim what's his name in her wound.

ktel1 · 19/04/2017 17:47

Regarding the wound- I was shocked at just how bad it is.

It seems such an extreme reaction to a scratch, even a deep one
I've been looking online for what it may be.

Cellulitis ( a staph infection) was most commonly mentioned which in turn could turn to sepsis

I suppose now that she is taking ABs sepsis should be averted?

Anyway she must be in considerable pain- I assume the pills she's chugging are painkillers

DubiousCredentials · 19/04/2017 17:57

They blatantly need Jack and Nicky from Prime Suspect to give them a hand on the forensics front. Nicky would obv end up in a hostage situation with Hilton/Jimmy/anyone after running around interviewing all and sundry whilst looking fabulous, but Jack would flash his blood-finding light around, see a fleck of dust with Roz's DNA on it and solve the case. They'd be all over the swapped evidence bag/overwriting error.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 19/04/2017 18:03

Oh God, I want it to be Sunday! I can't wait
Me too. Despite all the implausibles and plot holes, as each episode's ended I've gone 'Don't leave it there. Don't leave us hanging'

Grin Dubious

NoWordForFluffy · 19/04/2017 18:05

I think I may have to re-watch episodes 1-4 over the next couple of nights. Get my head round it all!

EmilyDickinson · 19/04/2017 19:12

The swab taken from Roz's wound won't be tested for DNA, they'll just grow the sample of bacteria until they can identify it and determine the correct treatment.

seedsofchange · 19/04/2017 19:28

Cellulitis is agony. If she had that in her wrist/arm she wouldn't be able to even lower the arm below her waist or use it. She would have to have it in a sling, at the very least. Added to the grim effects of the major infection she's got, she's going to collapse very soon I think. Trust me, I've been there!

EmilyDickinson · 19/04/2017 20:01

With Jed Mercurio being a former doctor I expect Roz's worsening wound and its diagnosis to play a major part in plot development soon.

EmilyDickinson · 19/04/2017 20:03

seedsofchange my sympathies, cellulitis is indeed very nasty, especially untreated. I wonder whether Roz has any underlying condition which is exacerbating it?

pepperpot99 · 19/04/2017 20:55

Agree that her arm injury is v v significant. Enrique I'm really liking your theories Smile.

Can't wait until Sunday!!!!!

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 21:07

He had only just started cooking, but he'd got all the veg etc chopped and ready, about to stir fry. Could have been meat there too.

CoolCarrie · 19/04/2017 21:14

The career break that Roz took certainly wasn't maternity leave as the children look to be in the teens, so what did she mean by being there for them? Didn't get a good look at either of them, but think it's two sons. Could there be something there? And she was totally vile to Nick, what was that about? Is she used to cleaning up after his mistakes in the past?

beargrass · 19/04/2017 21:18

coolcarrie I thought the same. She said something to Kate that made her sound quite bitter about the break, made me think she'd been doing his dirty work. As he's a criminal barrister, did he help get off wrong'uns? But she had to do the donkey work?

tribpot · 19/04/2017 21:29

Here's what Ros has to say to Kate about the career break, it's a great speech.

"Let me tell you about my road to 31. I'd been a DI two years already. And then I made life choices in the best interests of others. Not in my best interests at all as it turned out. And from what I know, you won't make that mistake. You'd give up anything to get to the top. But despite all your ambition, you've found yourself on the wrong side of the line."

Kate then says "what do you know" and Ros says "that you've got a son you barely see. Hardly holier than thou".

mugglebumthesecond · 19/04/2017 21:48

Well it would prob be a bit obvious that Nick ( unstable, personality disorder, hence why TN HAD TO HAVE TIME OFF) Killed Tim but He followed her, did he see her leave thinking it was her lover then ring his solicitor mate for 'help'. Maybe Ros and Tim managed to sort their differences. I don't think she killed him either, she doesn't have it in her at all. I also do t think Nick knew Tim was murdered.

Fingers chopped off to use prints to incriminate Tim in other crimes Nick and solicitor mate are related to in some way. Nick is in to deep to whatever it is anyway.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 19/04/2017 21:52

Good call, PPs: yes, very possible that Roz has pre-existing health issue(s). Now complicating the arm situation.

Maybe something kept hidden behind more accepted veneer of "career break", for fear that it would (God forbid!) show she's vulnerable/ would invite pity (which would be anathema to her)/ endanger career prospects.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 19/04/2017 21:53

^^ Or is even life-limiting?

farley123 · 19/04/2017 21:57

In episode 1, Steve went to visit the woman that Michael Farmer was convicted of raping. When she answered the door she said something like 'What's he done now?'. I'm wondering if her dodgy partner may have set Farmer up??

Ceto · 19/04/2017 21:59

beargrass, Nick isn't a criminal barrister, he's a commercial solicitor.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 19/04/2017 22:00

That's the address that is n the area from the first (I think ) series... this is all going to come back to the gangs ...somehow

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 22:02

Nick isn't a criminal barrister, he's a corporate lawyer.

I think Nick murdered the first two girls and Hana's abduction was arranged so Roz could arrest Farmer to cover up for Nick.

Ceto · 19/04/2017 22:05

Perhaps it will turn out that when he died Tim had some horrendous lurgy that meant that if his blood got into a cut it would cause a bad infection, and that happened when Roz was clearing up.

People are right, they need to get the Silent Witness mob onto it. Clarissa would discover the bugs in the bloodstream, and Nikki would go all doe-eyed and thoughtful and make the connection with Roz hiding her wrist all the time and then keeling over with a high fever.

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 22:07

How is she accessing Tim's PC and phone anyway - mine all have passwords on, it suggests she maybe got him to tell them to her before he was murdered? But why would he?

hoddtastic · 19/04/2017 22:24

she's got his manky fingers hasn't she?

I wonder if her husband went to prison for some kind of white collar crime? hence her enforced career break?

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 22:33

Phones can be accessed by finger prints but not sure laptops can? esp if it's a work one, would have two-factor log-in!
