Cars don't need to be police issue to have blue lights fitted. But I don't think she's of senior enough rank to have them as a DCI. Unless Hilton signed them off

OutToGetYou · 18/04/2017 11:23

Maybe he joined the masons as part of his AC job, to be able to keep an eye on other police (not that it seems to be doing much good) - maybe he puts his job before his faith?

It does seem anomalous though.

buggerthebotox · 18/04/2017 11:56

What's the year of her car's issue?

CraicMammy · 18/04/2017 12:26

The Ted-masons thing... the only evidence he is one, is that Steve saw him doing the funny handshake with yer man with the lambchop sideburns in series 3. He's never confirmed nor denied. Which would make sense in his AC role, lull those who are Masons into a false sense of security etc when investigating them. I reckon he insisted one, mainly cos I don't want the mental image of him wearing an apron with his trouser legs rolled up!

Ceto · 18/04/2017 12:47

Assuming there's another interview with Roz, presumably Ted will draft Kate in and she can hardly pull the misogyny card with her. Maybe Ted will promote her just beforehand.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 18/04/2017 13:58

I'm sure the PP's DH's fascination with the cars is just a passing observation that a senior Police officer and a corporate lawyer would have newer cars!

We may now be guilty of reading too much into things....

Never!

CoolCarrie · 18/04/2017 14:33

I don't think Ted is a mason, as pp pointed out he did do the mason handshake with old buggery grips in the past case, but that was to lull him into a false sense of security. Ted seems to be above all that nonsense and is a great policeman without needed to be a mason, just as Morse was, Strange was promoted over Morse due to the funny handshake brigade.

seedsofchange · 18/04/2017 16:34

Strange had seniority over Morse though, because he took the Sergeant's exam and Morse had been called away , so then Morse was always behind in seniority, despite being miles more clever :(

seedsofchange · 18/04/2017 16:35

So even without the funny handshake lot, Strange would always have been first in the queue for any promotion :(

Ceto · 18/04/2017 22:36

Strange was always more of an establishment type anyway. Morse would never have been interested in a job that involved a lot of admin and HR stuff.

SuckingEggs · 18/04/2017 23:27

Can't find a link to S3 - the YouTube links are all clips. If anyone has a link I'd be very grateful, fellas.

Missing my LoD nightly fix!

SuburbanRhonda · 18/04/2017 23:33

I posted way upthread that all previous seasons are on Netflix.

TheHiphopopotamus · 18/04/2017 23:41

S3 of LoD isn't on Netflix. I got an email an couple of weeks ago saying they'd made a mistake and it wasn't available.

Figgygal · 19/04/2017 02:54

It was on I player until about a week ago as I binged it before it went off

tribpot · 19/04/2017 06:53

You can buy Season 3 through iPlayer or on Amazon.

Whywaitfortomorrow · 19/04/2017 07:50

Another question for the medics out there....Roz's wound looks much longer and deeper than previous episode. How would that affect a person in RL because LOD characters are superhuman (I know they are fictitious but sooo believable) ?
And if Tim scratched her and was suffering from something could it be picked up from swab ?

Whywaitfortomorrow · 19/04/2017 07:51

And would bag in garage be really smelly by now ?

hackmum · 19/04/2017 08:57

ILikeBeans: "I'm sure the PP's DH's fascination with the cars is just a passing observation that a senior Police officer and a corporate lawyer would have newer cars!"

Yes, that's it. I asked him about it last night and he said that given there are a lot of cars in the series with obviously newer registrations, it was puzzling that they were both driving old cars, and he thought it must have been a deliberate decision to do that. But he didn't know what the significance was.

tribpot · 19/04/2017 09:08

So the significance of the old cars could be to indicate a money problem? Which might be driving their behaviour.

Seems like Ros is on her way to sepsis? Some gruesome info about untreated wound infections.

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 09:19

"You can buy Season 3 through iPlayer or on Amazon."

Or watch it free on YouTube as I did this weekend.

OutToGetYou · 19/04/2017 09:25

This link shows some of them:

www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=youtube+line+of+duty+series+three

Hmm....actually, weird, looking at some of those links many seem broken or overwritten. I wonder if it's been taken off. I def watched it all on YT Sunday! I don't know if YT works differently on the TV than on the PC?

tribpot · 19/04/2017 09:26

The Beeb will be looking for people posting illegal copies on YouTube and have them taken down.

beargrass · 19/04/2017 09:39

tribpot I like the sepsis theory. Looked as though she went to a mate for treatment of the wound last episode? Your link mentioned topical application of antibiotics, which looked like what happened.

But it does seem to have changed. I'm sure it was something like two or three lines, whereas in the last episode it looked more like a swirl? Well, it was bigger, anyway.

SapphireStrange · 19/04/2017 09:42

I think the wound is looking bigger because it's suppurating.

Would Tim have to have really dirty fingernails for that to happen? Or could you end up with an infection from perfectly normal clean fingernails?

beargrass · 19/04/2017 09:52

I advise against googling 'supparating wound' Shock

Surely however she gets dirt in it, would cause it to get worse? Tim's place looked hospital/serial killer clean to me
