I've spent the weekend rewatching all the old series.

Line of Duty totally messed my head up so much last night my dreams actually contained a combination of Balaclava Man and the Sainsbury's I used to work in.

There is talk on various sites that Ted could not join the Masons as he is Catholic and ex RUC.

Why would they introduce two new characters in one ep with virtually the same name - JamieNotJames and JimmieBaddyLawyer? Seems like clunky scripting really. Or maybe before we met JBL we were supposed to think Nick was calling JnJ and that the latter was a mole (he still might be)?

Out - Jed Mercurio apparently researched the Masons to establish RCs can join. Which is bizarre given their bigotry. Most folk actually just believe Jed forgot his won backplot for Ted!

I also think the Jimmy/Jamie thing is probably just a bit sloppy : like Beth Latimer having a daughter called Lizzie...

Yes, names have been a bit of a 'thing' in this series, Kev(in), JnJ and "is Steve OK?" "we'll see" (conversely when Steve first met Ted, Ted called him Steven and Steve instantly corrected him. This is the sort of thing you notice when you watch them all from s1 ep1 to now over a couple of days!)

Oh and Nick keep getting Arnott wrong too.

I thought the same about Steve arnotts face surely it should of been black n blue

After the Broadchurch ending - I've been put off theorising will they do the same and make it all 'look it was X and that's that' 'take your loose ends and side stories and shove them up your arse'

Just watched Ep4 - wow wasn't expecting that from Roz during interview. That's what I love about this show. Nothing is ever quite what it seems. But I do think somebody should have picked up on her only using one hand/arm.

And that "meh meh meh" from Roz to her husband in car plus her slapping him has started to reveal the kind of relationship they have. She is definitely wearing the trousers. All the time. Everywhere.

Somebody mentioned on the other original S4 thread that ACC Hilton and Nick drive the same model car....could have been Hilton parked outside. Nick's car was spotted on traffic cam but not directly outside Ifield house. Bit risky for Hilton though. Then again could also have been genuine cabbie waiting for Roz.

I don't think Jimmy 'Baladi' Lakewell is 'Balaman' but being a criminal lawyer, I expect he's defended some shady types who own a balaclava/bat.

I've just finished watching S1 and 2 😮😏 amazing!
Am also watching 4 and my brain is frazzled. Such weird dreams.

The comment about loaning him a suit is really unnecessary unless they need to let us know that they are the same size, for balaclava man reasons. Cos they're not actually the sane size. Lawyer is bigger, BM is bigger than Nick Huntley

Alas, S3 isn't available on iPlayer as catch-up TV, i.e. for free. You can buy it through iPlayer or on Amazon. Netflix did announce they were going to be hosting it to go with S1 and S2 but then hastily withdrew the announcement.

Re: clothes, Nick says to Jimmy "thanks for the change of clothes, mate" - not clear that that means they're Jimmy's rather than someone nipped back to chez Huntley for another suit.

Jimmy then replies "there's no way I'm letting you go around looking like you're already convicted". Hmm.

Ah tribpot interesting. I'd taken that exchange as N Huntley wearing his lawyer's clothes.

The fact Huntley gets Arnott's name wrong is odd especially as he's a lawyer - names and small details should be his bread and butter.

When Nick got Arnott's name wrong the first time I thought it was a clumsy attempt at being nonchalant - he was talking to Roz at the time, wasn't he? The second time he got it wrong blew that theory! As bear says, you'd expect a lawyer to be more attentive to detail.
