Ooh yeah, maybe she woke up when Ifield left, and just pretended to play dead.

ArseyTussle · 17/04/2017 10:27

If the phone was off it wouldn't be trackable so it doesn't matter that Nick took it when he went to find Roz. She turned it off as she was going against protocol, similarly taking a cab rather than using her own car.

I think Buckells left the 'someone is watching you' note.

Ferrisday · 17/04/2017 10:28

I'm going to rewatch but as stoic as Ros has been, why did she completely break down in the garage with the computer.

And now we've seen how ballsy she is, I don't think she'd mess up or overlook evidence, I think she'd be very thorough. So there's an bigger original cover up.
Balaclava man is some kind of fixer/cover up guy.

Excellent thought, Craic ! She should have replaced the bag as well as the sample (which would have meant no crossing-out of the number, as well as no residual DNA from the original sample) to be 100% undetectable.

But she did, didn't she? She made up a new bag with KRG30 on, went to swap that for the original sample, couldn't find a KRG30, worked out that she'd made a mistake and crossed out the 30 on her bag and wrote in a 13.

I know that there's a limit to what you can do with capital letters and numbers, but surely someone is going to compare the writing with the writing on Kevin thing's other exhibits and find some vital bit of difference in the way the letters or numbers are formed?

tribpot · 17/04/2017 11:00

It hadn't occurred to me that Ros might have been faking it when Ifield returned. She would have to be incredibly certain someone was going to rescue her to have let him get that close with the saw though - anything could have happened at that point.

tribpot · 17/04/2017 11:04

You would think that overwriting an evidence number would be something a forensics guy would remember (if not be required to document at the time?)

Cary2012 · 17/04/2017 11:05

Do you think someone on the inside is telling Ros stuff, like the Masons, Kate's kid, how Hastings favours male employees, or do you think she's done lots of digging to find it all out? I think there's an informer, but wondered what you thought?

On reflection, there were some great bits, the way she turned on her husband, the eerie music when her husband stood in the doorway at the end, and I thought 'it's bally man' but other bits were a bit meh. Good episode, but not as good as previous imo.

Cary2012 · 17/04/2017 11:06

tribot, I agree. Also I think it would be standard procedure for initials to be added next to the overwriting.

Ceto · 17/04/2017 11:08

I would have thought there must be some sort of procedure in place for what forensics people do if they miswrite an exhibit number, otherwise if they just overwrite it, it's exactly the sort to thing that the defence could make hay with.

Ceto · 17/04/2017 11:09

Cross-post!

CraicMammy · 17/04/2017 11:14

Ceto thanks for correcting me! I don't want to lead the MN investigation up a blind alley!!

Elendon · 17/04/2017 11:18

But the overwriting is now Kate's fault, somehow to discredit Roz. Which we as viewers know it isn't.

Ceto · 17/04/2017 11:23

I wonder if Roz was recording her conversation with Hilton? Otherwise surely it was a bit rash to piss him off at this stage, when she could have done a dramatic faint or something to get out of sleeping with him.

I don't think Hilton necessarily went to meet Maneet immediately after getting the brush-off, I suspect it was some time later. I'm wondering if they're deliberately planting evidence with him. I say that because it seems to me very surprising if Ted is a mason - in his job that would surely be a big no-no? So maybe that information was planted on Hilton so they could make the connection.

SapphireStrange · 17/04/2017 11:33

Who is going to connect the phone numbers? What phone numbers? Confused

The arm is going to figure in the denouement isn't it? There's a swab with her DNA on it that's going to come into play I reckon Yes, I agree. Nothing else seems to be sticking to Roz, so surely something has to eventually?

Surely her husband must be balaclava man after that Ominous Music scene last night??? Will he kill her?

I think new Jamie is hapless but not a spy, or implicated in any way. I can't believe that Maneet is bent. I love her. Sad She must be leaking info to Hilton under extreme pressure (threat to her job), and hating every minute of it, surely?

Ahmezia · 17/04/2017 11:33

I think Nick saying he went after her with her phone isn't true and isn't really of any significance. Surely he just said he went after her with her phone to give 'a reasonable excuse' for having followed her in the first place.

The truth is he didn't trust her from the outset but wanted an excuse to having followed her in the first place by saying he had her phone?

SapphireStrange · 17/04/2017 11:34

The overwriting might come back, too –someone may interview the forensics guy Kevin again and get to the truth.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 17/04/2017 11:43

I disagree actually that's it's out of character for Ted to be a little bit sexist. I agree that the 'darling' was shoehorned in , but all the 'wee girl ' stuff seems absolutely right. We love Ted because he seems authentic. A bit of a dinosaur but absolutely with the good guys. There was a pint last series where it was vaguely implied he might end up being the Caddy. Twitter went mental.
He definitely IS a Mason , for example, which is not exactly 21st century...

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 17/04/2017 11:44

What has happened tot eh iconic balcony shots this year? Are they actually filming AC12 in a different building?

There are only ever two people in the AC 12 interviews, too. I miss Kate featuring in those.

BlueDaBaDee · 17/04/2017 11:45

In care work when you write what the patient/ resident has been up to that day, if you make a mistake, you have to initial your correction by law. Find it difficult to believe you don't have to in the police/ forensic investigations.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 17/04/2017 11:45

to the...

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 17/04/2017 11:46

Blue - I agree. Jed Mercurio does get a lot wrong if we want to be picky. I am convinced there would be CCTV in an evidence room in RL! They covered that error up with a quick bit of dialogue last night.

SapphireStrange · 17/04/2017 11:52

The sexism thing can't stick ,surely. OK, he's been calling women 'darling' and 'wee girl', but he also calls men 'fella' and 'sonny Jim'. If anything, he's an equal opportunities dinosaur; he doesn't discriminate!

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 17/04/2017 11:56

Haha - exactly what I thought Sapphire.

The stuff about him calling Jamie James has probably been put in to illustrate that...

It was a nice counterpoint with Roz calling Kevin Kev in a bit of faux matiness which backfired.

Cary2012 · 17/04/2017 11:59

I do luff Hastings I do! I loved his concern over Arnott, the way he got in the ambulance, I think he's a very caring man. I'd never watch it again if he's a bad fella and not a good fella.
