And the dr never went back to see her?

RustyBear · 06/07/2017 18:59

Not in a televised story, though they met again in The Five Doctors when Cardinal Borusa brought her to Gallifrey using the Time Scoop.

There are various audio stories and books which are regarded as canonical by some, not by others, which tell of what happened to Susan after the Doctor left, but I don't really keep up with those.

WhirlwindHugs · 07/07/2017 14:07

Having moaned about a lot of the specials no longer being on Netflix, most of them have now gone back up (but not the day of the doctor/time of the doctor which is annoying because I wanted to watch them specifically!) am going to go back and try and watch as many master episodes as I can in order because I'm still confused!

Funnyfarmer · 07/07/2017 15:54

Have you checked today @WhirlwindHugs?
I had a quick look today and saw the second half of season 7 had been added.
Plus I'm sure I watched both of on Netflix recently before the rest of season 7 was added. But they was mixed in with random seasons

Yes, a few months ago they were all on there, then some of the specials were removed and a few days later day of/time of the doctor also came off (literally as I was just about to watch them!) apparently the specials and the main episodes are on different contracts with the BBC (and half of s7?? apparently...)

so I'm kind of hoping now that most of them have come back, including the s7 ones, if I wait a few days the last of them will come back as well...

RustyBear · 07/07/2017 22:34

Day of the Doctor and Time of the Doctor are at the end of the Season 8 list

WhirlwindHugs · 08/07/2017 07:07

Ooh are they? Lemme go see!

WhirlwindHugs · 08/07/2017 07:20

Yay! Rusty you star! Thanks Grin

lynmilne65 · 08/07/2017 09:34

Imo, matt lucas isn't a 'proper ' actor at all !
The only thing that amused me was the advert with Stephen Hawking!!!

lynmilne65 · 08/07/2017 09:39

I agree with hippo x

lynmilne65 · 08/07/2017 09:43

Ooo yes Noel Fielding, brilliant idea !!!!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 08/07/2017 10:15

No, not Noel Fielding Shock

iklboo · 08/07/2017 11:02

Noel Fielding is doing Bake Off. And, much as I quite like him in what he does, it's a definite NO for him as the doctor from me. He has no range.

chemenger · 08/07/2017 12:50

Not Noel Fielding. Just no.

Whileweareonthesubject · 08/07/2017 13:52

No to Noel Fielding. I wouldn't watch at all if he was The Doctor.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 08/07/2017 14:17

No to Noel Fielding from me too.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/07/2017 20:55

Sean Pertwee (Gotham) though he said he wouldn't Sad
David Morrissey (buy my DH said he "can't because he was The Other Doctor" )
David Thewlis ( HP, Prime suspect)

Not Noel Fielding (gah!)
And not a female Dr

coldcanary · 08/07/2017 21:20

I want Rufus Sewell really. DH the fun police says I'm not allowed to lick the tv screen though...

ReinettePompadour · 08/07/2017 23:01

Rufus Sewell would be lovely. I also think Richard Armitage or Matthew McFadyen (spelling??) are fairly easy on the eye too.

QuiQuaiQuod · 10/07/2017 13:39

Even Bill would turn for those 3 reninette Grin.

yum.

Only prob is with them is we'd get the Martha/Rose dewy eyes again.

I don't know why but Hugh Bonneville came to my mind too.
anf Tom Hughes.

Rusty you might know this- whats th1st time, which story that JP says 'reverse the polarity' or 'reverse the polarity of the neutron flow' ?

My fave catchphrase EVER on DW . I know he said 'change the plarity' on Terror of the Autons, but then when?

ReinettePompadour · 10/07/2017 13:46

I'd like Tom Hollander to be The Doctor. He would be very funny. I loved him in Taboo. Yes Hugh Bonneville would be great too.

I'd like them to let us on Mumsnet pick the new one. The problem with that is it would take us too long to decide and the series wouldn't be back for ages. Grin

Fiderer · 10/07/2017 14:27

Matthew Macfadyen also has a wonderful voice. Loved him in Ripper Street with all that Victorian oratory.

Can someone please explain what happened to Bill at the end with the Puddle woman?

RustyBear · 10/07/2017 17:44

'Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow' was only said twice by the Third Doctor, first in the Sea Devils, and then in The Five Doctors. He reversed the polarity of other things fairly often. Apparently he asked Terrance Dicks, who was the script editor, whether it cooled be used more often, as he preferred it to trying to remember more complicated 'technobabble'

RustyBear · 10/07/2017 17:45

*could be used...

QuiQuaiQuod · 11/07/2017 12:33

thanks rusty

seems like he said it a million times in my eyesGrin.

wish it was used more often. was longing to hear PC say it, would have suited him.
