Is Bills tear supposed to be the reason all the modern cybermen have the tear in the design, do you think?

It was horrible when they showed Bill the head machine, theyve always said that cybermen dont feel pain but these apparently are in pain all the time but the headpiece means that they dont care about it any more, how awful.

No, the tear was done in a previous series. Some female boss character IIRC.

It was Yvonne Hartman, head of Torchwood London in Doomsday (the one where Rose Tyler was sucked into the alternate universe.)

The headpiece thing taking away pain was also explained in those episodes. Because of that I find the Cybermen scarier than the Daleks.

The way Missy was talking to Razor surely meant she didn't know he was the Master. Or did she know he was about somewhere & all the redemption stuff was an act?

Wonder if will set the finale for her turning on him. Like Missy but John Simms' manic Master irritated me.

The conversion bit was v creepy.

Also v creepy the way he befriended Bill then took her to the conversion theatre.

Glad not to know who the new doctor is, or when the regeneration happens. And also glad that trailer was after credits so had a chance to switch off.

Badly paced episode, loads of effects showing off with nothing happening, and with the monster spoiled there was no real tension, shame as there was some good creepy horrror. Hoping the deadly dull 'wossat?' Bill doesn't get out of this one, the description of her and nardole as 'exposition and comic relief' is exactly right, that's all they are!
At least Matt Lucas can speak comprehensibly. Not since bonnie Langford has a companion been so bad.

Clara got dull when she had the romance with gormless wotsisname, I was also pleased to see him gone. Amy and Rory worked because they had an established relationship, but they were kept too long as well.

Did someone say ' you know you are a real fan when you keep watching whatever happens? ' That's me! Apart from the one on mars, they are all getting deleted after one viewing.

I've warmed to Bill.Clara was a waste of Peter Capaldi's time as the doctor.

I've never had any trouble understanding what Bill says.

I find Matt Lucas irritating but I always find him irritating so I can't blame his character in Dr Who!

I think that Missy will side with PC against the Master and they will regenerate together and the new Dr will be a fusion of the two.

On a side note I reckon Peter Capaldi and Michelle Gomez would be awesome on a night out.

Does anyone else think it's odd that it hasn't been announced who the new dr is yet? Previously, it's been well known for the entire series. Does this mean it hasn't actually been decided yet? Or maybe he's not going to regenerate after all.

It makes a nice change - the new doctor has never been kept secret before, but the hoopla over Capaldi was ridiculous with that embarrassing live programme. It was obvious he found it cringey too!

watched '10th planet' last night after the new episode, and I wonder if the writer of this one last night did his homework before? there seemed to be a lot of inconsistencies, cant remember what they were now,

but I think for this ending of another era the writers now and moffat are just tryingTOO hard and being too much and forgetting small children watch this , the kids seemed to be forgotten last night (especially missy using the word bitch, didn't like that, for me personally its as bad as the C word, but that's just me!).

if they can do multiple Master things, they should get a Delgado and Ainly lookalikes ! they w ere the best.

LOVE the 1st and 2nd cybermen best, and up till silver nemesis, they were the best cybermen.

Really have liked Peters doctor. Hasn't always had the best writing but has played the part well and be sad to see him go.

Like also that it hasn't been leaked who the next Doctor is..more of a surprise though could go either way..Hopefully a good surprise though

I think they will probably either do a reveal at the end of next week's episode (I hope!) or will announce it after it has aired. Apparently loads of next week's episode has been redacted so it's not been shown at the press screenings. I hope that means they will reveal it then. But then again PC is in at Christmas so I don't know if he will even really regenerate next week. Maybe Christmas will be a multi doctor episode!

According to Steven Moffat, the reveal will during the Christmas special.

Which means they have to try to keep it quiet for that long.

Which probably means it isn't any that we have speculated upon.

I did wonder with the scene this week where the Doctor is talking about the gender of time lords whether that pointed towards a woman.

They keep hinting at the woman timelord thing but I think Moffatt just liked winding up the fanboys. Although apparently the ratings haven't been great. Could be time to shake things up a bit-or it could be used as a justification to keep the Doctor white and male of they continue to fall.

I don't know why they need to mess with the formula.

we watched The Mark of the Rani the other day and Dc thought Missy was the RAni, as they are very similar in 'personality'.

The DW character was written as a man, as was James Bond and other men who people say the next oneshould be woman.

same as women heros and characters should stay women. theres plenty to go around.

I hope the don't mess up with it just to tik the PC certain brigade boxes. Ill certainly be leaving the fold if that happens.

and btw. Missys ever changing accent is worse than the ever changing Dodo's!

Ecclestone had the Northern one, McCoy and Capaldi have had their Scottish (LOVE the way McCoy has has burr in mhis voice. best Scottish lilt ever!)

its usually up against some big ITV thing.
Its usualy on far too late for kids (not this series though) as its normally on after Strictly or people watch on catch up or something not at the time the programes actually broadcasting.

and 3- you cant count on ratings any more.

in the 'olden' days there were only.3-4 channels competeing.

now with freeview and cable and satellite theres loads of choice, naturally the ratings are going to differ from then.

not the actors faults, Matt sMITH was awesome, PC is wonderful, excellent (as the cybermen would say), but mid- Tennant, the stories went down the pan IMO, save a few here and there.

I think Missy should be the next DW. She said it last week! I am Dr Who!
