DD and I are still hyperventilating after tonight's episode, we LOVED it! PC really has come into his own as a The Doctor and we had been disappointed in him

But I always thought Missy was a reincarnation of the Master???
How can they both be there at the same time?
What have I missed?

I was meh about the one two weeks ago but today's one had me on the vergw of my seat. Capaldi is superb. He always has been but this series is great. Not enough screen time for him though this week

The Doctor has met previous versions of himself several times - The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, The Two Doctors, Time Crash, The Day of the Doctor - so why not the Master?

That was the best episode of DW I've seen in years! All the meta jokes, the darkness of it, it was so well-written. I must admit, I've only properly warmed to PC's Dr this series (love Bill, their dynamic is so much better than his and Clara's) and now he's leaving. So gutted - I could watch several more series with this set-up very happily.

I'm quite looking forward to watching it later now. You lot are making it sound like a goody.

I've heard Steven Moffatt complain about spoilers finding their way out but they're as bad as any - we've known from the first episode's 'coming soon' trailer that John Simm was returning. How absolutely wonderful would it have been to NOT have known until the episode aired. Ah, well. Will be gutted to see Peter Capaldi leave, I've loved him.

I loved this episode! Kept holding my breath. I am so excited for next week.
I love them all now and I'm so gutted he is going. Nardole and missy together is so funny.

Poor Bill! Do we think he can fix this, by some timey-wimey method or other?

If he can't (and it did seem pretty final) I wonder if there's going to be a new companion? Or just the Doctor & Nardole?

Michelle Gomez is incredible in this. I found Capaldi and her relationship as long list friends who'd taken different paths much more believeable. Its a shame Capaldi is leaving now when he's got into his stride but for me, Tennant and Smith were the Doctor from their first episode. He's had just as long as them.

Apparently, they put John Simm in that because the news had already been leaked. I think they would've liked it to be a secret. I knew he was in it, but didn't recognise him right up til the last minute

Last nights ep was bloody brilliant. Love, love Capaldi as the Dr, I'm sad he's going now he's finally hit his stride with better scripts. The old style Cybermen were terrifying. Also hope Matt Lucas sticks around for the next Dr, his character has really grown on me.

Oh and Michelle Gomez is my new girl crush. I bloody love Missy!

I've really enjoyed this series, and have thought the writing much better than the previous two PC series. I'm going to miss PC as the doctor, this series in particular he has been just fabulous. I like Bill too, I find her much less irritating than Amy and Clara. I hope this isn't the end for her. Missy is just incredible, we live her in our house another one we'll be sorry to see leave.

In our house we think this has been one of the best seasons for a while.

I managed to avoid all that right up until I read the synopsis inthe TVlisting for this week. dammit!

Also realised I'm a total nerd when I noticed John Simms in disguise was channeling the char Zathras from the Babylon 5 series

He reminded me of someone, I wonder if that was it? I did watch Babylon 5 religiously but have mostly forgotten it TBH.

It was great. Capaldi is so much better in this series because he is allowed to take centre stage. The last series was dominated by Clara and it just didn't work. Missy is fantastic. She would make a brilliant doctor..

With hindsight, now that she is gone, Clara was even worse than I thought. Her character dominated everything.

I have always loved PC, but totally agree that Clara was over powering. I wonder whether that was because there was a fair bit of grumbling when he took over so they made her centre stage.

Loved how they have set up the possibility of a female doctor with the fact Missy used to be a man etc.

This series is brilliant, back to being excited to watch a new episode. Agree re Clara, she was a major reason why we were switching off last season. I wasn't too sure about PC but I really like him now.

The tear at the end of this episode was very moving.
