Anyone eles exited for serise 10?

Last night's episode was really good. I prefer the uncomplicated, one-off episodes! This series doesn't seem to have the over-complicated, over-arching story like previous series which is much better. (I'm not sure what's going on with Missy/the Master though!)

rosy this is the first series I've enjoyed in years for the same reason you mention - one off, understandable stories. I've been watching DW since I was 5 which was 51 years ago and up to about 7 years ago, never had a problem trying to work out what the heck was going on. Up to this series I'd given up on it as just don't have the brain power or the will, to try make sense of something that seemed so complex, cryptic and overly clever.

Ah, mark gatiss. A reasonably comprehensible plot if you ignore the conveniences, and a memorably nasty way for characters to die. Well done that man. And dialogue that doesn't stress Bill's swallowed words too much. Only a couple of rewinds needed, neither for her.

We also learnt something about her other than that she is gay - she is quite ignorant ( never heard of man Friday) but has seen a lot of movies. We also know that her beloved mum died young and that she is a student. That's it - The zero character companion.

Love the sparkly dreads on the ice empress and of course the classic who character at the end, which will make no sense to many.

Why cant Mark Gattis take over the mantle of new producer/head writer? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEE him!

LOVED last nights.

Love Ferdinand-son of Ben- Kingsley (although he seems to be typecast as sleazy guys),

loved the commander guy who was brave in the end (gone blank on the name).

Bill was better, no mention of you know what for once .

Love the ice warriors (although Friday was hissing a bit too loud!)

Loved the Ice Queen.

As for the ''Luke I am your Father'' cameo appearance (is that what you mean Rusty?) wow wow wow, fan girl crazy!

That's why I love Mark Gattis's episodes, he keeps it up to date for the newer younger audience yet manages to inject the old in too, to not lose the original classics fans.

Best episode since 'Time Heist' IMO.

BTW watched dvd of Mark of the Rani today and thought Missy is more Rani than master. THATS what Missy should have been, a regenerated Rani. .

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but is there a running theme throughout this series- of Dr freeing people or things?
But apart from that I can't see clues to what I imagined would be a story arc leading to the regeneration and return of the Master.
Last two episodes seemed to have ended quite abruptly, is there something I'm missing?

Liking Nardole more and more- never thought Id ever say that. Im forgetting hes Matt Lucas and enjoying the character of Nardole.

Thanks for not spoiling next week, unlike one review of this week which I just read which did. Bastards. And I always avoid the next time trailer for just that reason.

Meanwhile I found that reasonably dull and thin on plot. So much that again bill bores on that she is gay to someone just being friendly. This character thinks the whole world fancies her.

bit of a damp squib again. was trying not to get too excited and build it up. .

knew who the wotsit was (spoilers), but the guy who was the other wotsit (spoilers) was good.

really really confusing though and me and DC are about to watch a REAL proper DW, the tenth planet , the proper 1st showing of the wotsits!

however, PC IS is the doctor, he SOOOOOOOOO is. I love him. .

I love John Simm. This series has been a bit disappointing really but now The Master is back lets hope it hots up for the last few episodes.

I've enjoyed this series much more than I have the previous 2 PC series. I hope Bill stays for another series as i really like her. I did love the (spoiler) towards the end. I didn't guess that, even though I knew it was happening. I wonder if they will announce the new Doctor after next weeks episode?

Veggie Bill ate a bacon sandwich near the start. Could that be one slight himt of alternate universe or just a continuity error?

Whenever I'm going to watch on catchup I avoid the thread, looking to one side when I scroll past it on TIO.

I hate spoilers rather more than is healthy but even I have no complaints about discussions about a broadcast episode within a thread (spoilers in a thread title though are an offence of the highest order though! :o)

I am disappointed Peter Capaldi is leaving; this series has been great!

I really enjoyed that episode. It was dark and tense. Loved the bit at the end.

I like Peter Capaldi. I don't want him to go :(

Just watched tonight's episode.
Absolutely brilliant. Actually made me shout OH MY GOD out loud.

Meh to John Simm but always hated him as the Master. Really loved that ep, the old Cyberman scare the bejesus out of me! so don't want PC to go. To me he has hit the role of Doctor Who right on the head.

Also realised I'm a total nerd when I noticed John Simms in disguise was channeling the char Zathras from the Babylon 5 series
