As a change from ranting about the licence trade I'm going to throw in a rant about theme nights.

You don't just wake up and decide to throw one. I can't get leaflets designed and printed the same day. You need to advertise for a while at least to dramatically increase your footfall. Just because you decide to put on a special event that morning does not in real life, mean that magically people will come.

And theme nights and more money in the till doesn't really mean much more profit. You will take extra money but say you sell an extra 100 pints of beer. At £3 a pint that's not £300 profit. Once you deduct the cost of buying the beer, the vat, the staff wages the electric etc you're probably making a couple of pence on a pint so your extra profit is in like £5 or something.

It is not the way to magically make a fortune. It can help with attracting new faces etc who may in turn become regulars, but that's a slow build up. That's why I rarely do them. More bloody hassle than it's worth.

So Linda has signed away the pub ( I take it Shirl was forging Micks signature) without ever even having 1 meeting with the people she has sold to? No thought of paying a solicitor to have a look before signing away their life?This is the most stupid, badly researched crap yet!

What was the significance of the card with "cost mart " on it? They can't flatten the pub and turn it into a cost mart; where would everyone meet and spend all the money they don't have ?

I thought she'd lied about meeting Linda, too, tbh. Think she's forged both signatures (but I was only half watching and missed the doof doof bit at the end- I just saw Shirley's chewing a wasp face! )

Woody was awfully keen for it to happen too, is he somehow involved with Max? It wouldn't make sense that he was but that's never stopped them before!

Can you imagine; all the drama revolving around Cost mart instead of the pub. Lots of scenes with cast members leaning on trolleys and an argument over a parking bay.
I suppose they could all decamp to Vincent's bar? People only seem to use that for hen nights or dates.

People get much more drunk in Vincent's, they are there for 20 minutes and fall out the door smashed, it never happens in the Vic, Tracey must be watering down the drinks!

You just know it be bad news, so they all be in stupid uniforms saying strange drinks by the end of the week. If pub is really badly paid why dosnt it go under? Surely flogging rooms on air b n b would make more money than 3p a pint! Though given Mark up on spirts compared to supermarket bottle they have to be making some money.

I don't think we saw Shirl forging Linda's signature, but she definitely copied Mick's from his Costco card onto the contract.

You'd think Sharon would urge caution before them selling off like this or at the very least telling them to get ILA

So they are setting up a get out storyline, Mick can say his signature is forged & prove he was out of the country at the time, however they will forget this and in 6 months time we will all be shouting it at the screen!

I missed all of that , I need a bigger TV! But in reality there is no other option can't keep the roof with hole in. Though I would be peed off that the extra few hundred couldn't be found towards mum funeral one week, but then suddenly Sausage uses his loan and then have thousands for dog operation.

Yep its too ridiculous not only is it daft that they'd sell to someone they'd never met would a company really buy a property on Max's say so - no valuation, survey, looking at the books etc, I mean the place could be falling down for all they know - oh wait - it is!

One good bit IMO was brief face fall from Abby underlining that she's faking being happy. They've done that quite well, just that sort of rather lonely life she leads, faking that she's having a good time. I'd like her to have a nicer time, maybe a bloke, but it's nicely understated and believable how she lives now.

absolute rubbish - nobody comes to have a look at the pub first? linda forging the paperwork - 2 men straight from the 80s able to drop everything to help out their 'old chum' woody? Leaflets produced by Kim from thin air to advertise the music quiz - Derek suddenly getting a temp job at the shop, people able to go to Spain for a holiday on a whim?

No one came to look at the pub because Max's boss is after it for some reason other than a genuine investment in a pub. What is is like is irrelevant.

soup, i suppose so, shirley was desperate to sign it off and get the Dog her op so she overlooked all the legalities. I would have had a word with Sausage first, although he probably just thinks its all okay as Linda agreed to it all ( although i bet she didnt and shirley didnt go to watford to see her either!) such a mess to get into.

Loved Kim using one of Patrick's CDs in the music quiz.

They could do so much with just those two characters alone but they are totally wasted on this programme.

Would love to see an episode of Kim, Denise etc in Spain with Carmel. It would definitely be more fun to watch than this freehold palaver.
