Just watched last night's. Yawwwwwn. I know Ian is tight, bit trying to save money by not having insurance?? No way. He can't possibly be skint when he has successful businesses and a tiny house.
And I found Sylvie so intensely irritating that I don't care much about that storyline either. Will Mick and Linda go to the funeral?
And the hot fat not injuring anyone at all is just ridiculous.

Final irk of the week - their new thing of someone on the other end of a phone with a weird squeaky voice, it's like a '70s sitcom.

Isn't Ian still skint from buying Bobby a place as posh school and then not selling Beale's? Also Stephen sent lots of money to Peter and he has to pay for Jane's care, I think there is a chance he isn't as well off as it might appear. I'm not sure how busy Beale's is.

They started moving people around A SECOND after Vincent reassured the emergency services he wouldn't. Very much against the recent public service announcement style, tsk, tsk.

Was saying the exact same things at the telly (okay, shouting again...):

Why did no one come out to see what the noise was?
Carmel not running to the hospital squealing "Oh Kushy!" and ruining the mood?
Ian not checking up on his mum in hospital?

And she only had a few scratches? Kaffy might be looking into a career in action films. I can already hear voice-over man: "This summer's blockbuster: 'Indestructible XX' (like chromosomes, geddit), starring Kaffy from Eastenders."
Action figures, lunch boxes and computer games galore. Then Ian could easily afford to ensure the chippy.

Poor Tina. As DH talked over the scene explained, apparently it's not likely a portable CD player would have enough voltage to electrocute because of the way the lead is plugged in at the back, removable lead, not directly into mains (or something).

I can imagine Kathy only getting a few scratches as she was protected by the counter. The car hit the other half of the counter where the friers are but I guess it is entirely plausible that the actual fat part is away from the customer side of the frier where the car hit. I think that the most that would have happened is a leak across the floor, not a tsunami of boiling hot fat. Which would have been more exciting!

And yes! What was with the "no we aren't moving anyone" conversation which them moved right on to them moving people!? I didn't think there was any hint that the car was going to blow up, thus necessitating an urgent move.

The whole thing was just laughable really - the only reaction that was remotely life like was bex saying ' i wish she was dead' ( meaning chelle) n Martian's treatment of Preston. the rest was rubbish.
good job that Vincent doesnt have a real job, he is always on hand to help out in a crisis -( i thought he ran the Albert, but he never seems to be in it!) Not sure how lucrative Ian's many food business's are really - you dont see them banged out that often - i think he has to start to sell a few! still no word on Nancy - makes me wonder if that scene with DD and the flight booking last week was just shoe horned in or something?

Vincent was in there last night. He looked askance at Denise and Kush.

I guess he only went to work so he can be the one that is suspicious of their "exchanged glances" etc.

I hope that, if Denise and Kush do make a go of it, she has a bit more luck. She's not a great picker, is she, Denise? They're either dying in a grisly way, (x2) being murdered, murdering everyone or have a child who's a murderer when she's with them. Or she's managing to get pregnant by Phil Mitchell. Mind you he was pretty irresistible that night.

Kush is a nice enough sort, he loved Shabnam -that was sad - but he hasnt done anything really bad and works hard etc. Its carmel that will turn her nose up at it all and try to put them off I think, she wasnt happy last time they went last time. Keeps on about him being so much younger etc etc. She is also a meddler, so its not going to be easy.

What is the age gap?

Actors are 34 and 47. Which seems totally fine to me. Same gap as me and DH so maybe biased. Can't see a problem. Unless Carmel is going to go on about grandchildren.

Actually it's one year more than us but still.

Could anyone explain to me what i missed re Sylvie - she was in the bath, listening to music, the music stopped, next thing the lights went out ie it must have fallen into the bath. BUT when Tina and Whit went into the bathroom, it was like they were looking past the bath at the floor??

That was a very long extension lead!

Spanish she was lying in the bath with the radio on the side of the bath at the foot end. The last scene of her was the music stopping and her starting so rise from the bath.

Presumably she stood up to change cd or whatever and in a standing position touched the radio and was shocked. From the standing position she probably fell over the side or out of the bath as she was shocked.

She must have looked clearly dead because no one thought she was asleep in the bath or something which would probably be the first thought of she was lying in the water.

So when Sausage was repeatedly tripping the switch was she being repeatedly electrocuted?! (Sorry for the gruesome visuals) but the whole scene was so drawn out and clunky my mind wandered.

I initially thought Sylvia might forget she'd run the bath and maybe fall down the stairs in confusion at being in a unfamiliar house.

I so don't care about Nuchelle and Preston, I do wish they'd stop talking about love though, it's nauseating!

There would be an inquest in real,life i suppose.

As for Preston and Nuchelle - it's just so implausible! Jenna Russell is an amazing actress - I have seen her many times on stage - but she is hopeless here - I think it's because the accent always sounds so awful and a put on. It's a shame because I actually thought an actress of her stature could make it work. But she is made so plain here - and Preston (dreadful accent though he has) is very good looking. I buy that she might have been good for sex but not this whole love thing. It doesn't ring true (now Ashton and Demi - it did ring true even though it didn't last).

When they set the scene with the long extension lead earlier this week I envisaged Sylvie tripping over it and falling down the stairs. Then when she started running the bath, I thought the newly-repaired downstairs ceiling was in for another soaking. Real old-style Casualty "chainsaw" moments!

Hels, I'm sure someone with better memory that me will fill in the details, but basically a couple of weeks after Phil was discharged from hospital following his liver transplant he decided that an extended holiday in Italy would be just the thing for him and Sharon. She hesitated a tiny bit but eventually decided that Chelle could look after Dennis and Louise in their absence. Probably not the best decision, all things considered!
