Well I loved it!

I'm already drawn in & wanting to know wtf is going on!

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 18:56

You are right Emily on both counts, i think Ted lost money in a property deal gone bad in season 1 ,he and his wife separated in season 2.

diddl · 27/03/2017 19:16

TN's character was so annoying, I wouldn't care if she isn't in it again!

Was it not very unprofessional of her to go to Tim's house?

buggerthebotox · 27/03/2017 19:22

I found TN annoying too. I've never seen her in anything, so I was keen to find out what she's like. I thought she seemed one-dimensional as an actor, with no discernible personality brought to the part. She didn't seem to connect at all somehow. Maybe it's deliberate, but she seems shallow as a character and shallow as an actor too.

EmilyDickinson · 27/03/2017 19:23

I'd forgotten about Ted being a mason. I'm hoping he's a sort of undercover mason, using his membership to keep an eye on what's going on. I think Ted's weakness is that he's so moral that he tends to believe the best of people.

EmilyDickinson · 27/03/2017 19:26

Front Row on Radio 4 is reviewing ITLOD now.

EachandEveryone · 27/03/2017 19:27

TN is always a cold fish in whatever she's in

ktel1 · 27/03/2017 19:31

With TN I always remember her role as Kem in ER.

I hated that character and for some reason can't seen to shake that negative impression when I watch her.

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 19:35

TH is fantastic in West World!

All TV shows, including the greats, have episodes/seasons that are bad it appears this show is no different.

Its down to how TV shows are scripted out they tend to write arcs not knowing if they will in fact be back the next season.

Idbemonica1 · 27/03/2017 19:37

I'm worried about Ted. Last night he ordered his steak med/rare - last series he ordered med/well. "sauce on the side" remains unchanged. Did my ears deceive me?

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 19:40

I'm worried that Ted never gets out....period!

I thought he ordered the exact same thing including how the steak was cooked. I could be wrong.

buggerthebotox · 27/03/2017 19:44

I thought he said "no sauce". It was a kind of repeat of the scene in the restaurant with Dodgy Gill Biggeloe.

I think we need to get out more, idbe. Grin

buggerthebotox · 27/03/2017 19:45

I missed the R4 reviewSad

DispatchReady · 27/03/2017 20:01

ktel1 I feel the same about TN because of ER!

She had a real bitchy resting face last night!

I was a bit wtf when I watched and can't wait for next week although I accept it was a bit far fetched once you start analyzing! I can't take forensics guy seriously, he will always be the smug teacher from Nativity for me!

Very odd when Steve questioned the "rape" victim - I don't think she was raped and I think he knows that too but didn't want to pursue it...

Really not sure what is going to happen...maybe TN will kill Nativity teacher and then have to cover that up so her dodgy behavior and the pressure of covering will make AC12 think she is corrupt. I am not sure she is truly corrupt in the Caddy sense...think she was just under pressure to get someone and didn't want to have to go back to the drawing board, and had an easy scapegoat.

Her DH is definitely going to play a more major role too.

EmilyDickinson · 27/03/2017 20:10

Tim the obsessive forensics guy will always be Herrick the grinning psychopathic vampire police office from Being Human for me. So I suspected him from the start!

EmilyDickinson · 27/03/2017 20:10

police officer

ktel1 · 27/03/2017 20:25

I think only one of them will make it to episode 2 and I'm leaning towards it being JW.

My feeling is that this started off being about a possible frame job of a suspect and has now led to an entirely different crime.

I think the the man arrested is innocent but that this came about through negligent police work , cutting corners and the pressure to get a conviction rather than a deliberate attempt to frame him.

Then ironically the attempt by JW to expose this leads to an actually far worse crime.

The emphasis may then be about him using his forensic expertise and inside knowledge to cover up what he's done .

He would go from being an good person who prides himself on exposing wrongdoing and admiring whistle blowers to being on the other side if the equation.

Aside from the main plot I think something is going to happen with Steve. I wonder if he may compromise his ideals in order to gain promotion or something along those lines.

This show does like to deal with a lot of ambiguity in it's characters , no one is entirely good or evil.

DispatchReady · 27/03/2017 20:29

ktel1 I'm liking your theory!

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 20:43

Are you guys suggesting that TN is in fact dead despite the trailer showing her alive in a future episode.

I don't know if Tim makes it out alive am sure TN does.

I think Tim was gathering evidence from crime scenes for reasons as yet not explained hence the bag of goodies in his flat he is not the actual killer.

ktel1 · 27/03/2017 20:46

I haven't been watching trailers for future episodes so I'll take your word for that.

I'm just speculating

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 21:01

The trailer I've mentioned was published weeks ago long before the show aired last night ,within that trailer you see TN being interviewed by AC 12.

TheHiphopopotamus · 27/03/2017 21:06

How did the jewellery get in the house though or have I misunderstood that?

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 21:10

Everything at the house was planted the guy arrested was fitted up, the question is who did the fitting up and why.

Why did Tim take the girls DNA from the glass? Why does he have what looks like evidence in that bag?

TheHiphopopotamus · 27/03/2017 21:17

Is Tim actually the killer and he's getting a buzz from being involved and sending the investigation team off down the wrong route and trying to fit TN up at the same time.

I asked about the DNA thing upthread and no one answered. I thought I'd missed something crucial but obviously not. I wonder if the girl ended up going to his house as it looked like they were going to arrange a 'cleaning session'.

Ciaovenora · 27/03/2017 21:23

Interesting new trailer about episode 2 just released!

Lots of new questions.
