The solicitor looks too sleepy to be a killer, but perhaps it's an act.

gonegrey56 · 10/04/2017 13:33

Could Roz be self-harming? Might that explain the wrist injury ? Sign of growing stress from the situation she is in .....

hackmum · 10/04/2017 14:08

I'm a bit puzzled by Roz's head injury too - surely she can't have really recovered? But who knows, perhaps the wrist injury is to distract us and Roz's head injury will suddenly turn out to be nasty and she'll have a subdural haematoma or something (which I only know about because it was used as a plot device in the second series of A Very Peculiar Practice many years ago).

I don't think Roz is self-harming. But I think we'll have to wait for the flashback to see how she got the injury.

Just remembered something from Saturday - Thandie Newton said she wanted to show more visible signs of stress and emotion, but Mercurio told her to rein it in because Roz was the sort of person who would hold in all the pressure she was feeling.

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 10/04/2017 14:21

Ooh hadn't thought of the 'delayed effects' scenario. It's interesting that she is intended to come across so cold, though I was mostly on Roz's side until she started framing Hana. I thought the earlier setting Farmer up was more of an attempt to make the evidence fit her beliefs than a deliberate framing IYSWIM. Now she seems evil.
I'm not sure about Kate either, although she says the right things she often just feels unlikeable and I'm not sure why.

Hallamoo · 10/04/2017 14:22

Maybe Steve will return from the dead, Easter-style on Easter Sunday???

Also, wasn't Maneet pregnant in the last series too? I remember she came in to the office with her baby.

Jimmy Lakewell must be significant, anagram maybe???

EmilyDickinson · 10/04/2017 14:24

Interesting idea about the head injury hackmum

I wonder what we're supposed to think about Jimmy Lakewell? It makes sense for a lawyer to want proper legal advice if they're mixed up in a criminal enquiry, but Roz's husband seemed to emphasise the name, even spelling it out, in a way that made it seem like the name itself should stop Steve from perusing him. Was he expecting Steve to recognise it?

EmilyDickinson · 10/04/2017 14:26

Maneet is brilliant and often responsible for the break throughs. I'd like to see her being groomed as Steve's replacement.

TheHiphopopotamus · 10/04/2017 14:32

Yes, it was Maneet who got the breakthrough on Dot, iirc. We were all a bit worried on last series' thread that Dot had done her in because she wasn't in the last episode.

I think she's definitely due a promotion.

cushioncovers · 10/04/2017 14:47

Hope Steve arnott lives but that was a hell of a battering ShockSad

Rattata · 10/04/2017 14:52

Yes - I also thought Jimmy Lakewell was some sort of codeword or cover name. Glad they have finally started to look at CCTV of cars and use NPR. I also thought the forensics team would pick up the blood splatter on the cornicing - they use special torches (UV) to sweep for blood spatter. Oh well - I still love it. Poor Hana.

Rattata · 10/04/2017 14:59

I think that that "Balaclava man" was sent to bump off Roz's husband not Steve - husband seemed to be alone in the building.

I was also confused at Ifield's semen being found at Hana's - I though Ifield had asked her round to" clean" at his flat but was going to press her about her attacker - maybe show her the "evidence" in the backpack - balaclava etc . I found the 1st episode hard to believe when Ifield attacked Roz in his flat and was going to chop her up - surely it would be much easier to phone the Police and fess up to an accident - Roz could have also phoned and claimed quite truthfully about Ifield trying to kill her.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 10/04/2017 15:07

From a feminist POV it would be interesting if Michael really were guilty as sin (probably in cahoots with another person driving) but being excused by Steve and the viewers because the suffering of sweet LD bloke is so much more important than the women who've been raped and put in fear and murdered. Particularly in respect of the teenaged rape which we're all mostly discounting. I don't think it's going to go that way but it's got interesting potential.

I am increasingly thinking that Hana's kidnapping was a put up job between Roz and Ifield.

buggerthebotox · 10/04/2017 15:25

whywait the Solicitor was Morganstaff. Not sure why I think it may be significantGrin.

TizzyDongue · 10/04/2017 15:25

Don't know if Michael Farmer's SnoopySolicitor has been named, but apparently the situation is based on a true life one.

TizzyDongue · 10/04/2017 15:26

Snoozy Solicitor, not Snoopy!!!

Deux · 10/04/2017 15:35

You know when Nick was first interviewed by Arnott, it appeared he was going to phone Roz after but the name on the phone was Jimmy Whatsit. I was assuming that that was some nom de plum for Roz?

I'm confused by that, was he really calling Roz or was he calling a solicitor?

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 10/04/2017 15:43

I didn't notice but apparently a couple of the numbers on Hana's phone log (other than Tim's) were also on Roz's.

Lulooo · 10/04/2017 16:00

Just caught up. That was so tense.

Ferrisday · 10/04/2017 16:04

He scrolled past Roz'snumber, do she is in his phone as Roz

Just rewatched and it was Tim's DNA on the bedsheets and towels. Didn't say it was his semen
Then Roz says that Hana never been to Tim's flat cos they didn't find her DNA, but his flat was wiped clean. It's all bollocks.
And Kate gets a call from Steve re KRG30, immediately goes to forensics and Roz and Jodie don't wonder where that came from?
Why would she randomly question that?

Hallamoo · 10/04/2017 16:29

My theory; Roz's husband set up the Hana kidnap and framed Michael Farmer. Roz's DH knows Hana as he has used her services as a prostitute. Roz suspected her husband of using prostitutes/being balaclava Man
and so was happy to believe it was Michael Farmer (her comment to her DH in ep1 'it's over').

Tim Ifield was on to the set up and tried to prove Hana was a set up.

Roz's suspicions about her husband were confirmed when she saw the forensics on Tim's laptop about the bootprint and she realised he was balaclava man - she was visibly shaken and upset in her garage.

Roz's husband followed her to Tim's flat and after Roz escaped, he went in and killed Tim and cleaned up.

Roz then tries to frame Hana for Tim's
Murder by planting Tim's DNA in her flat.

Not sure how Jimmy Lakewell fits into it, unless he is also Michael Farmer's solicitor and is in on the whole thing?

motherinferior · 10/04/2017 16:46

Solicitor is played by a friend of mine. He's not usually so chaotic-looking. I do hope he did it - be good for him to get some more prominence.

Hallamoo · 10/04/2017 16:46

I also think that Roz set up for the woman to come forward to say that she was grabbed by Michael Farmer. The timing was perfect for Jodie not to be on shift so it had to be Kate who did the interview. I think the text that Roz almost sent 'I'm coming in' was to the witness, not to Kate.

Ferrisday · 10/04/2017 16:47

Hallamoo- that makes sense until you get to Roz having all the bloody stuff in her car.

And husband and wife could be in the cleanup together except that they don't seem to be communicating about it

motherinferior · 10/04/2017 16:48

I've been thinking that if I were Ros I'd take a quiet trip out of town and go to another hospital with a false name to get the hand treated. I may have spent too much tom on this.

Ollycat · 10/04/2017 16:48

When Roz was looking at all the bloody stuff and laptop - was that in her car or her husbands? There was a v deliberate shot of the empty boot of her car.
