I'm liking Jodie too. I'm wondering if she's some sort of plant or undercover person, put there to keep an eye on things.

How did AC12 manage to intercept TN's call to West Mids to check on Kate?

And does anyone remember Buckells' involvement in S1? Did he take over from Gates? If so, wouldn't he recognise Kate? She must already be the best-known undercover cop in the region!

Nettletheelf · 03/04/2017 11:43

Roz is so cold and calculating that she could be a psychopath. We are frequently told that they are good at managing their careers!

Nettletheelf · 03/04/2017 11:45

In other news, I really liked Roz's grey pyjamas and her black jacket with the grey turned up collar.

Megatherium · 03/04/2017 11:46

I've never seen Lee Ingleby play a baddy! The A Word, Inspector Gently, Stan Shunpike ...

Nettle I like that theory. I think she's hiding the scratches because they are a weakness and he may do away with her if he realises how bad her injury is. Her husband followed her to Ifield's flat precisely because she left her phone at home. He tracks her movements.

If they aren't in it together then he's got something on her which could ruin her career so she's covering up for him.

diddl · 03/04/2017 11:56

Well that's me not interested any more.

TN is still in itSad

NotJanine · 03/04/2017 12:02

Jodie is very confident for someone who looks like they should be in school

diddl · 03/04/2017 12:30

"I've never seen Lee Ingleby play a baddy!"

Luther?

TheHiphopopotamus · 03/04/2017 12:32

I've never seen Lee Ingleby play a baddy!

What about in Life On Mars? He was Sam's dad. Can't say anything else without spoilering.

OutToGetYou · 03/04/2017 12:55

I found last night's to be too unbelievable, for all the reasons above but mainly how she got out from under that chain saw and managed to clear everything up - a second killer coming would surely not have bothered to do the housework unless they too were a cop?
Not sure Kate is getting fed up of the sexist comments more she is just sucking up to the boss. The sexism stuff is a bit too obvious really. The only reason I can think it is there is that the killer is female?

wowfudge · 03/04/2017 12:59

Ted was off with Steve in the last series when Dot was trying to implicate him and now he's trying not to show favouritism to Kate because they're investigating a woman. I always thought there was a whiff of something untoward about Ted and I'm still not sure. His warning to Buckells was pretty typical of him.

NotJanine · 03/04/2017 13:09

I thought maybe TN's husband had got into the flat (if he'd followed her) and stopped Tim, accidentally killed him and helped TN cover it all up.
But that wouldn't make sense from the conversation they had at the dinner table would it

Megatherium · 03/04/2017 13:23

I didn't watch Luther, hence Lee Ingleby is definitely a good guy in my mind. But maybe this series will be the one to change that ...

diddl · 03/04/2017 13:28

"I didn't watch Luther, " ShockGrin

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 13:30

"I didn't watch Luther,

It's easily helped, you must do so immediately.

minxthemanx · 03/04/2017 13:32

I don't quite get why tim Ifield has balaclava etc if he wasn't involved in murders? I agree that he doesn't seem like murderer but can't understand why he'd be a copycat? What for?

BaggyCheeks · 03/04/2017 14:24

IIRC Tim wasn't meant to be on the scene at the very start of the first episode, and why would he have a balaclava? I think Tim was the original killer they were after, but now it's got messy because of TN's involvement. I think him contacting AC12 was motivated by guilt at seeing someone else going down for his crime (who I still can't get past seeing as Marvin in Still Game), but he felt fairly confident that his role in the Police wouldn't lead to him being a suspect - why would it, he's a perfect Gray Man.

DH suspects TN's husband, but I don't buy it. It felt like the last series quickly descended into a weekly "For the love of God why won't they just listen to Steve?!"-fest, so I think this series will be the same way.

I love Ted too. Are-not has one of those faces that just winds me up.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 14:55

I did suspect Forensic Tim too, but it sort of felt off.

I suspect there will be another kidnapping.
How many episodes to go, do we know?

buggerthebotox · 03/04/2017 14:59

I don't buy Hubby's being a villain, either, but i think he's involved somehow. Maybe he's covering for Thandie in some way.

Thandie has begun to grow on me!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 15:00

I like Thandie.

BaggyCheeks · 03/04/2017 15:09

4 episodes to go!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 15:10

See, lots more time to fill.

Definitely another kidnapping.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 03/04/2017 15:29

Oh good God: friend just referred to Arnott as "mini-me David Walliams"...I can't erase the mental picture Hmm
