Starts this Thursday 8pm on BBC2. Will fill the Interior Design gap nicely

OP posts:

I thought Richard should have gone. It's true that the challenges don't seem to be taken into account when choosing who stays and who leaves.

WotNoLoobrush · 23/02/2017 22:18

I also thought Richard should've gone, not Elaine. She has consistently done nice detail to her work. Will miss her.

Elendon · 24/02/2017 08:31

I was sorry to see Elaine go last night. However, she didn't stick to the remit, and that's always a bad move. I will miss her. Cait continues to surprise.

I'm a little bit in love with Tam, after last night. So sweet.

SapphireStrange · 24/02/2017 10:00

Elaine going was a travesty. OK, she had a bad week in some ways, but overall she still has much more to give than Richard.

I like Cait more now than I did; she's calmed down a bit.

I liked Ryan with more scruffy hair and beard. I'm old enough to be his mother

Who's Tam?

iklboo · 24/02/2017 11:32

I think it's meant to be Nam?

SapphireStrange · 24/02/2017 11:55

Ah, OK. Yes, he is sweet. I like his style as well – he's very original. Pretty fiercely competitive though.

Fontella · 24/02/2017 12:38

Glad to see I'm not the only one bemused by last night's result?

Richard came last in one challenge, second last in another and his fountain was nothing to write home about and yet he wasn't even mentioned as being in the bottom two - only Elaine and Nam named??

Odd decision indeed. It would have been an absolutely travesty if Nam had gone, as not only did he save his own fountain by thinking on his feet after his base bowl exploded, he also saved two others!

But it seemed the whole thing was judged purely on the fountains as that's the only reason I can think why Elaine went over Richard?

Still loving the programme though.

This is off topic slightly but how can we make plates and so on and home? Can a normal oven be used? I love pottery but not done it since I was a kid at school. I don't have a shed or extra space but I vaguely remember making a mug at school and getting it weeks later after it getting cooked.

5foot5 · 24/02/2017 13:41

Another one sorry to see Elaine go, especially after she went round helping everybody else.

WotNoLoobrush · 24/02/2017 17:57

Loved Freya's feature though. Well deserved win IMO.

Elendon · 24/02/2017 19:06

Sorry Nam!

I liked Freya's feature too.

Elendon · 24/02/2017 19:10

I think you'll struggle at home to make plates. babba You might want to check out if there are potteries near you? We have one close by and I once held a birthday party there (twas the rage at the time). Great day out and worth it - the boys invited loved it as well.

Elendon · 24/02/2017 19:11

Posted too soon. Some colleges and high schools also have kilns as well.

Brillig · 26/02/2017 18:33

Sapphire to go off-topic for a mo (sorry), afaik Sewing Bee is made by the same company that does GBBO.....and after the, ahem, rupture over that, it seems highly unlikely that they're willing to go ahead with Sewing Bee. That's what I've seen on various threads online, anyway.

I know. SadSad

SapphireStrange · 27/02/2017 10:14

Thanks Brillig. Sad Seems a pity to let bad relations over one show ruin them all (I assume they make/made lots of shows for the BBC).

Beeb have really shot themselves in the foot over the Bake Off.

JolieColombe · 27/02/2017 10:59

Love Productions seem to make this show too though, so maybe there's some hope for the Sewing Bee?

SapphireStrange · 27/02/2017 12:04

Oh, do they? In that case yes, here's hoping!

MissWimpyDimple · 27/02/2017 13:17

I was really cross about this too.

Elaine's main bowl broke, which was always going to make her "hastily chopped up plastic tub" creation look poor. BUT Clovers bowl also broke but Nam gave her one of his.

How is that fair? Surely if that's going to be allowed, then ALL the contestants with breakages should be helped?

I'm probably overthinking it!

iklboo · 02/03/2017 20:18

Goblet of Dire tonight!

Brillig · 02/03/2017 20:38

I just saw those pits and thought for a moment they were shallow graves Grin

GavelRavel · 02/03/2017 20:41

WHY does Caitlin always give herself too much to do when she has never completed anything on time!?!?!! starting to really annoy me, she's got to go tonight surely

GavelRavel · 02/03/2017 20:41

Cait

iklboo · 02/03/2017 20:58

COP OUT!!

iklboo · 02/03/2017 20:59

I'd have chucked some food in for a luau Grin

LouisevilleLlama · 02/03/2017 21:02

Have just seen this is the man still crying every week?
