Right. I was all set to enjoy when my OH told me he is taping it, and we can watch it together when he has finished his run. In about 20 mins. I am still 🤔

iklboo · 02/02/2017 20:34

WHOOOOOO!!!!

SealSong · 02/02/2017 20:40

Liking Clover so far, she's one to watch.

I wish that giddy blonde woman would calm the fuck down!

Wolpertinger · 02/02/2017 20:40

Loving this.

First thoughts - Clover is really talented, don't care if Ryan is talented or not, want him in the final as he is totally swoonsome Blush

SealSong · 02/02/2017 20:41

Coit? Is that her name?

LIZS · 02/02/2017 20:46

No innuendo intended ....!

SealSong · 02/02/2017 20:47

And he's off with the tears! ha ha

walkingtheplank · 02/02/2017 20:59

I wish Cait had gone. Very annoying woman.

BestIsWest · 02/02/2017 21:01

DCs bought me a Keith Brymer-Jones mug for Mother's Day. It was the nicest mug for drinking coffee out of. Then one of them smashed it. Sigh.

TheTantrumCometh · 02/02/2017 21:07

I saw this post at 8.05 so tuned in. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait for next week and more of Clover's jugs.

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2017 21:09

Drat, missed it! I'll have to check out the iPlayer, I loved the last series.

Currently got Portrait Artist of the Year on, loving that too.

WotNoLoobrush · 02/02/2017 21:12

Ryan's dinner set - wow!

BestIsWest · 02/02/2017 21:13

Loved Clover's jugs. Would love to have seen what they looked like after firing.

BestIsWest · 02/02/2017 21:13

I love Portrait Artist too.

AstrantiaMajor · 02/02/2017 21:15

Thought it was great. They always put in one annoying one . Hope she goes soon.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2017 22:05

I've been out so just watched the first episode. I really like Ryan, Clover and James. I found cait incredibly annoying and dh and I were both disappointed she didn't go. I'd love to have a go at this.

Fontella · 02/02/2017 22:13

Great first programme apart from Coit/Cait or whatever her name, who was so irritating. Am I mean to be wishing she had gone first? Apart from that I really enjoyed it, some interesting characters, a real mix of styles and talents. I was so pleased for the chap who was in the bottom three and said he was useless at decorating, and then his dinner set came out so beautifully. He was so surprised and pleased and I'm glad to got to stay.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 02/02/2017 22:28

I had to watch it a bit late. Ryan's dinner service was beautiful, I agree Cait was annoying and also that they should have glazed and fired the jugs. DS innocently asked if the furnace man should be fired for the carbon trapping but we felt that burning him to death might be a bit harsh Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 02/02/2017 22:58

Nice to see Emma Bridgewater on there. I love her stuff, I've got a bit of a collection going.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2017 22:59

Me too msadorabelle. I was gutted to get married too late for the full birds dinner service. I've got a flock of mugs now. Smile

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 02/02/2017 23:01

I find her stuff a bit twee, we've got one mug and a biscuit barrel but that's enough, I much prefer my plain Denby.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2017 23:02

whoknows my dinner service is Denby. Smile

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 02/02/2017 23:08

I knew I was getting old when some friends and I went away for a weekend in the Oeak District that was supposed to be a massive piss-up and we all got excited when we found a Denby seconds shop Grin

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2017 23:16

I used to live close enough to the Denby pottery factory that I'd go there for lunch and wander around the shop to see what they had. I have many happy memories of meeting friends there and looking at plates.

Fontella · 03/02/2017 12:10

I just love the way they use the classic 60s tracks as background music as well. I don't know whose idea it was to marry tracks like Cream's 'Strange Brew' and Booker T and the MG's 'Green Onions' with images of people kneading clay and throwing pots, but it bizarrely works. I find myself enjoying the music as much as the programme.

It's such a well put together programme - the judges, contestants, location, subject and bringing in Emma Bridgewater in the opening episode as guest judge was a nice touch.
