Anyone else watch the start of the second series tonight?

OP posts:
diddl · 03/02/2017 14:16

They do all know DW & have secrets that they aren't telling anyone.

I'm thinking that DW all got them involved in the thing that ruined their lives?

Got Sara into prostitution, somehow is the reason Marion can't have children, the cause of Colin's breakdown?

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 03/02/2017 14:29

Marion disappeared for a couple of years - did she have a child? Was it David Walker's?

teddygirlonce · 03/02/2017 14:39

What did Sara's father reveal to her DH (was watching on catch-up and missed that bit)?

Bestthingever · 03/02/2017 14:42

I wondered if Marion had had a child and had to give it away. She is excessively attached to Zoey. Perhaps she gave away a little girl or was a similar age when something traumatic (some kind of abuse) happened to her.

Bestthingever · 03/02/2017 14:57

Teddy Sara's father revealed to her dh (who thought he was dead) that her mother had died when she was 11/12(?) and she'd gone completely off the rails. In exasperation when she was 13 he said 'you abide by my rules or you leave

Bestthingever · 03/02/2017 14:58

Posted too soon! She left and apparently ended up in London as a vulnerable girl and that's why she ended up apparently being abused.

eddiemairswife · 03/02/2017 15:14

I've just started watching Apple Tree Yard on catch-up, and find it a bit disconcerting that Emily Watson's husband is one of Unforgotten's gay dads.

Clawdy · 03/02/2017 19:05

Yes, it is interesting that the suspects are all people we sympathise with, and that nobody can remotely sympathise with the victim. Maybe they will get away with it?

southeastdweller · 03/02/2017 19:22

The actor who plays Colin was amazing in the scene when he's told that Maria Gonzalez lied about him raping her. Imagine just finding out that the reason your life's been overshadowed for almost 30 years is a lie - his reaction seemed painfully realistic.

He is a very good actor. So versatile too.

cowgirlsareforever · 03/02/2017 19:30

Mark Bonner is the actor. He was incredible.

mugglebumthesecond · 03/02/2017 19:40

Mark Bonner is amazing and exquisite looking. I could stare at him all day Smile

user1475253854 · 03/02/2017 20:27

Yes I thought that scene was amazing OP. You get so used to hearing rape being justified and men supporting other men accused of it etc that you forget that a decent man would be horrified of being accused of rape. And then not to remember what happened/what you did.

pepperpot99 · 03/02/2017 20:30

Yeah he is fabulous and very talented and I fancy him loads . his relationship with the partner and their adoption is completely convincing and very well done. He was also in Line of Duty and was excellent as a corrupt bastard top cop in that.

Is there something else that Sara, Colin and Marion all did though? is there something else to come out? I think there is and it's going to be awful Sad. More murders.
I also think that the reason the Walker grown up son (can't remember his name) is emotionally stunted is because of some deep rooted trauma involving the dad. Was he part of the ring too?

TheSpottedZebra · 03/02/2017 21:00

God, Mark Bonnar. He's in everything recently and I am very pleased about that as I fancy him wildly.
He just gets better with age, doesn't he?

Yes Wink

Cagliostro · 04/02/2017 01:11

Just catching up with episodes 4 and 5! Super uncomfortable given my own history. :( Very well done though.

Cagliostro · 04/02/2017 01:12

But yes, Mark Bonnar :o :o :o

YouHadMeAtCake · 04/02/2017 01:51

pepper that's pretty much what DH and I thought when she said there will be more bodies. I loved season one but not the end or the culprit so I'm hoping this will stay great til the end. A great cast this time too. I felt for the last victim and his Mum but not DW. Nicola Walker is brilliant and I loved her in River too. I love her voice, the way she speaks.

teddygirlonce · 04/02/2017 07:11

I agree with you Clawdy - I think they will get away with it. It seems unlikely they will uncover more bodies in the last episode - it's a hunch without evidence and little time to explore.

And they don't really seem that close to finding the evidence to confirm who killed DW yet.

Agree about Mark Bonnar being fanciable - he's in everything worth watching at the moment. Pretty sure he had a role in 'Undercover' too, recently?

Elendon · 04/02/2017 07:25

Have just caught up with this fantastic series. My theory is that the death was accidental, but covered up. I think David Walker died by tripping, being pushed, and falling on top of the opened dishwasher onto a knife. I do like the theory that Marion and Mark Bonner's character met in the Maudsley. Obviously Sara has a connection as all three obviously know each other. It could be that each kill someone and provide an alibi for the others.

What was scary was that 99 Shanklin Ave was now a family home. All those awful things going on in it.

Elendon · 04/02/2017 07:37

Also Sara had her jaw broken by DW, Colin suspected shady dealings with DW and Marion had brought DW to her parents home for sex (an affair gone bad?). So all had a motive to do away with this man, but then so did Price and she knew Sara.

Yep. And Catastrophe. And Apple Tree Yard, currently on the BBC. He is quite the silver fox, all I need now is to see a photo of him wearing a kilt!

Cagliostro · 04/02/2017 08:58

And now I need to go and look up Undercover and Catastrophe :o

I finished episode 5, admittedly I am a bit hormonal but I sobbed at the end!

I did enjoy series 1 but this is just streets ahead - I feel much more watching it.

TheSpottedZebra · 04/02/2017 10:22

oh, Queenie...
