no, me either. I think US series can just be too long, if this was maybe 8 episodes there would be more going on each time. But then I guess we'd lose the intricacies of the plot and backstories.

ihatethecold · 17/02/2017 18:38

I liked this weeks show.
Always makes me feel emotional.
I do think Kevin is serious eye candy though. Wink

IhatchedaSnorlax · 17/02/2017 20:51

I enjoyed it this week too.

EachandEveryone · 18/02/2017 00:14

Why not tell his dad the truth?

OP posts:
HairsprayQueen · 18/02/2017 07:23

Probably didn't want him becoming involved in the kids lives.

Or it was just easier to get what he needed by fulfilling his fathers narrative.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2017 21:15

Awww just seen. Was good. Glad Toby survived and even more awwwww that he proposed 💓💓

Grrrr at blonde one bouncing back in as if nothing had happened and she could just go back to playing lead part and being girlfriend again

Bob19701 · 22/02/2017 11:49

Enjoying the series and agree some weeks can be a bit slow , how many episodes are there to watch I think last night was ep 9 ?

Lovelybangers · 22/02/2017 15:00

I am pleased Toby survived too.

Am currently watching last night's episode.

artisanmincepiesonly · 22/02/2017 16:38

I love this show but do the loose ends get tied up a bit conveniently?
And I really fancy the dad/Jack! But is the relationship just a bit too perfect? DO people really get along that well?

DispatchReady · 22/02/2017 21:44

art I think Jack and Rebecca's relationship goes downhill later down the line (after having the babies!) and there are issues although they still love each other, we've seen that on earlier episodes with flashbacks.

Love Dr K!

EachandEveryone · 24/02/2017 22:32

Its so Thirtysomething ismt it? I love those navel gazing shows but i can see why it wouldnt be for everyone esoecially in the UK. Very american angsty isnt just lije Parenthood, Girls, Brothers and Sisters, is their a name for that genre of show?

IhatchedaSnorlax · 25/02/2017 00:17

DispatchReady · 25/02/2017 00:31

EachandEveryone · 25/02/2017 00:35

I know! They are a certain type of show though arent they how can we group them? Smile people dont really over talk like that in real life do they?

OP posts:
DispatchReady · 25/02/2017 00:48

No nobody I know talks like that! How can we group...American family angst shows?

EachandEveryone · 25/02/2017 01:01

With a touch of Woody Allen?

OP posts:
Destinysdaughter · 25/02/2017 01:08

Everyone is v intense aren't they? I loved Thirtysomething!

EachandEveryone · 25/02/2017 01:13

All these shows have common writers/producers/actors they are all connected. Have you seen Transparent on Amazon Prime? Thats another one. Loved it!

We pretty much watched this weeks episode in silence.
I'm dreading finding out what happened to the dad.

SightHoundSista · 25/02/2017 07:37

The Dad is so attractive! Can't take my eyes off him.

EachandEveryone · 03/03/2017 00:49

Yeah not really gripping this week was it. I think the slow pace won't go down so well in the uk.

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 03/03/2017 16:15

I like this weeks!

When do you think the dad died? (Do we know?)

Its taken me an embarrassingly long time to figure out the dad is Jess from Gilmore Girls. and it wouldn't surprise me if that's actually been mentioned upthread!

EachandEveryone · 03/03/2017 16:41

Did they look late teens?

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 03/03/2017 16:49

Yes I thought they did.

ArriettyClock1 · 03/03/2017 18:48

I have just discovered this and love it.

I am about 3/4 of the way through. Such a fabulous cast (apart from English actor woman who is rubbish) and I think I have cried at every episode.

I cringed last night for Kate, having to have 2 airline seats and have a seatbelt extender whilst enduring judgey looks. She is a fabulous actor.
