Soubriquet · 26/10/2016 21:58

Hard crack would be an interesting one wouldn't it

LemonRedwood · 26/10/2016 21:58

TheSpottedZebra · 26/10/2016 22:02

lljkk · 26/10/2016 22:02

I quite like Candace's accent. But omg the lipstick. Please No.

iklboo · 26/10/2016 22:08

BIL1 is melt in the mouth balls. FIL is sticky lady fingers. I think I've broken DS. He can't walk for laughing.

Soubriquet · 26/10/2016 22:09

I did do the dc's but Dh called me wrong for doing it..

StopLaughingDrRoss · 26/10/2016 22:09

I don't mind Candice won but I did like Andrew and Jane's family were lovely.

Still not sure about the move to C4 - I still love it so might watch.

It does feel like the bakers are really close this year - planning future stuff with each other and hanging out. Or maybe I'm just seeing more?

Clawdy · 26/10/2016 22:10

Andrew is such a sweetie. I'm Tossed Baps. Grin

bialystockandbloom · 26/10/2016 22:11

Aw I loved Candice all the way, v v v pleased she won.

Couldn't watch Andrew, had to hold my hand up to block his face whenever he was being judged, that faux "oh was it okaay?" pouting throughout - so fake, and he was soooo competitive.

But I think I'm alone on the gbbo on MN - never liked Nadiya either

My nn is creamy crack Shock

ample · 26/10/2016 22:17

You're not alone bialystock I didn't like Nadiya much either (and couldn't tell you why).

I liked Ruby though.

Moist crumpet Blush

bookbook · 26/10/2016 22:19

Soggy Jugs here - not far wrong tbh Grin
well. not sure I will watch it when it moves. I hate advert breaks, and assume it will be " and before the break, x happened' over and over again, because we have no memory at all...
It did fall a bit flat. more due to the challenges, which were more time management than baking skills

Soubriquet · 26/10/2016 22:20

Moist crumpet!

Ok you win!GrinGrin

MiddleClassProblem · 26/10/2016 22:21

Selasi road trip meeting the other bakers on their various hols along the way.

Look at Kate no mates in that picture. Bet she has made everyone that has come over something made from batter to prove she can handle it

Bragadocia · 26/10/2016 22:21

I for one liked Andrew.

They were all a bit competitive. It was a competition…
I doubt he'd be elbowing us out the way to beat us to the front of the checkout queue.

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/10/2016 22:22

Stiff Tasty Horn

horseygeorgie1 · 26/10/2016 22:22

I'm Delicious Crumpet! DP is Buttery Horn!

Hmm. I'm going to have to shut my eyes in Tesco everytime I pass the inevitable cook book with her cat bum mouth pouting on the front cover.

I liked Jane!

maggiethecat · 26/10/2016 22:28

Likeability is overrated - of course you'd prefer the likeable candidate to win but it really comes down to who produces the goods which Candice did.
I can't say that I like her but I admire her skill and determination to give everything she had and then some in every task.

INeedNewShoes · 26/10/2016 22:28

I thought it was interesting that there were no proper close up shots of Candice's pastry on the sausage rolls and some of her other savoury things. The fleeting sausage roll pastry shot still looked to me as though the pastry was slightly underbaked.

Pretty rubbish in the Bake Off final to have undercooked pastry, soggy bottoms and cakes that were wonky and not well iced.

The level of perfection and presentation just didn't seem as good this year but maybe that is down to the short amount of time allowed for each challenge...

JinkxMonsoon · 26/10/2016 22:35

It was Candice's to lose, I think.

What's the problem with saying "What an opportunity"? Winning Bake Off IS a massive opportunity. Most winners (and plenty of finalists) have gone on to forge a career out of baking: writing books, doing telly, doing demonstrations at baking shows, etc.

ample · 26/10/2016 22:36

First there will be a Candice-Jane holiday. Then there will be a book with recipes about the holiday
Maybe a Christmas tv special?
Something has to fill the Downton void (I know that it's ITV)

Do the BBC have the rights to the baker's future endeavours, or C4, or can they go anywhere?

Good for them if they are indeed friends. No need to waste time hating the competition because Paul thinks they are a better baker 😈
