I have (momentarily) changed my mind about Clark. He is really making an effort! Taking on Melissa's veganism even temporarily is not what I would have expected. I think there is potential.
Adam: childish! Sara's well out of that, which is what I would predict.
Adam (Caroline) not sure, they are taking it so slow it could just fizzle.
Lucie I like a lot more than I did initially, but unless Steve opens up, it won't work. If he cracks, even just a bit, though, she might stick with him.

SpermThroughASashWindow · 09/11/2016 00:02

All the couples seem to have one who is keener than the other. Clark, Adam, Adam and Lucie are smitten, I think. Steve will run for the hills soon.
I wish they had included some people in their late 30s/40s.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 09/11/2016 00:12

Lucie wasn't so irritating this week but she seems a bit intense. Poor Steve wasn't enjoying being grilled about his mum and Iraq. I don't think any of them will stay married. I really like the two Adams but the laddish one would get on my nerves after five minutes. Put him in the friend zone Sara. Grin

Steve and Lucie seem a good match, both making the effort . I think she might bring him out of his shell, hope so.

Cameron got unnecessarily roasted for forgetting to order breakfast! She sounded quite scaryShock

Laddish bloke - oh dear.

EssentialHummus · 09/11/2016 09:36

The fact that laddish bloke is training to be a counsellor also depresses me a bit. I know they're ordinary people, but I'm sensing a distinct lack of empathy.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/11/2016 09:45

Either that or it was really bad editing. She might well have been super controlling. She was definitely rolling her eyes when he was watching the football but tbh I do to with dh's pass times and he does with me too.

5 hours of drinking is a lot but they had lunch and were in a vine yard so not unexpected unless he's been drinking heavily the whole trip and that was the final straw.

I don't unpack on holiday either-less likely to leave anything behind that wayGrin

I was wincing at Clark's wife ( name escapes me) hobbling on high heels on cobbled streets!!

Rrross1ges · 09/11/2016 10:30

I did wonder how much of the football thing was set up. Presumably the production company gives the couples some kind of itinerary.

Destinysdaughter · 09/11/2016 10:37

Id like to know the criteria they used to match the couples up. Not sure they are brilliant matches TBH. To me, taking me on a date to watch football would be a deal breaker as would the inability to open up and talk about feelings. Did the experts actually meet the people involved or was it just in the basis of a questionnaire?

However, chemistry is v elusive!

MrsLogicFromViz · 09/11/2016 11:19

It's such a good programme. It does seem rather rushed though and I'm getting confused with the two Adams and the pair of redheads.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/11/2016 11:42

I really need to ask my psychologist friend about the 'nesting gene' they keep mentioning, I would've thought that would've been nurture rather than nature.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 09/11/2016 11:43

Yes I'm puzzled by the nesting gene too! They talk about it as though it's part of their actual DNA.

SirChenjin · 09/11/2016 13:46

Are there are spoilers out there? I had a look but couldn't see any

legoblox · 09/11/2016 13:56

I'm also really enjoying this show.

I can imagine the giddy feeling of the meeting and initial stages. That amazing feeling where you're akin to madness. But then it all settles down....

Fascinating stuff!

Arcadia · 09/11/2016 18:18

I think Adam was a bit set up with that wine tasting trip. Looks like they were stuck out there for hours as a taxi/minibus thing took them so may not have had control when to leave. He wasn't hammered.
He is a bit laddish but he is being himself. Seems genuine and was lovely with the bride's mother on the wedding day.
Can't really see him being a counsellor though.

SpermThroughASashWindow · 09/11/2016 22:03

Yes, there is at least one spoiler I accidentally saw online!

MrsJamin · 10/11/2016 07:04

Glad to see there's a thread about this trashy amazing programme. I don't think Adam and Sara will work, he's too much of a lad for her and she wasn't that attracted to him initially. The rest of the couples I can't call, there may be more to lucie and Steve than I first thought. He just seemed shy. But he has to open up for them to get to know each other quickly enough for them to have a chance. I hope Caroline can be nicer to her Adam, he is getting smitten.

SirChenjin · 10/11/2016 12:12

Sperm - where???!

Melissa and Clark , wow, wrong about them! They seem so well matched!
The party Adam, not going to work ( i predict, i dont know)
Lucie wasnt as annoying this week, Steve is very quiet. Not sure,if it could work, but might be wrong.
Beautiful honeymoon locations. Jealous!
Very interesting programme.
