Is anyone watching?
The mother in law is still weird!

OP posts:
Chottie · 18/11/2016 18:02

Just bumping this up!

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 18/11/2016 18:27

I don't think they'll ever actually move... it's just a plot device.

Ilikegin · 18/11/2016 20:09

Just watched on catch up..
Gaynor adjusting Sam's top while she was breastfeeding.. Awkward!!
Also, Is it safe to leave a baby playing with pegs? (I've not got to that stage yet so genuine question)
Big P giving Sam his finished banana skin.. Good god!
And Sam always looks dead behind the eyes when she's thinking about leaving her family behind and going to Surrey or LA, I get the impression it's all Pauls doing!
I also get a massive vibe Sams mum and Billie don't really like big Paul!
Awkward yet compelling viewing!! Blush

Bertucci · 18/11/2016 20:19

I will bet good money that Sam will be firmly ensconced in Essex forever.

We find this show so compelling, but for entirely the wrong reasons.

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/11/2016 20:26

I always feel sorry for Billie, she has Nellie and is pg again, yet they all go on like Baby Paul is the only baby ever.
Ooh, Baby Paul eats, oooh, Baby Paul swims, oooh, Baby Paul goes to baby gym, oooh Baby Paul is a baby.
Baby Paul is slightly less vacant than the rest of them I s'pose.

YouWereAlwaysPerfect · 18/11/2016 20:29

I don't think Gaynor is weird at all, she just looks weird and creepy, she just needs to do something to her hair, I don't really see anyone with the same hair style as hers... she should at least dye it.

Beaniebeemer · 18/11/2016 20:35

I think Gaynor's hair is one of her redeeming features!!

SmellySphinx · 18/11/2016 20:36

I've not watched this and never planned to but now I want to see this weird dynamic because Adult Paul, his Mum and 'Bitty' (for those of you who remember Little Britain) comes to mind after reading your comments

MiniCooperLover · 18/11/2016 20:38

Big Paul didn't say a bloody word the whole meal, he could have tried to comfort his mum who clearly, despite being a bit creepy at times, adores her son and couldn't believe he'd go to US and leave her. Yes I know he's a grown up but she's still his Mum.

wowwee123 · 18/11/2016 20:41

i think big paul has no intention of going to LA. I'd bloody love to know what their business plan is?

i love the show. like sam and paul. actually think paul gets a lot of bad press undesserved tbh.

i do think though sam is so used to the celebrity lifestyle she thinks she can accomplish anything when she's nowhwre near as talented or famous as she thinks without sounding harsh

the Faiers seen like a lovely family unit and baby paul s just beautiful!

LadyTrevelyan · 18/11/2016 20:47

Gaynor's hair is lovely! I yearn for Gaynor's hair.

As for the rest of the programme, when not watching for Gaynor's hair, I am torn between WTF and Pure Envy.

Marvellous.

OhFuds · 18/11/2016 20:55

I've just had a look in Sam's instagram and people are still arguing over her video of the dolphin swim she did.

8DaysAWeek · 18/11/2016 21:11

ilikegin argh the banana skin bit!! Wtf was that!?

So annoyed I've just found this thread.

My thoughts:

Loved the original one off programme (though was pregnant at the time with PFB so probably biased) so was really excited about this

I wish there was more emphasis on the hard parts of having a baby. She mentioned having sore nipples at one point very briefly but otherwise everything looked a breeze. All this meeting up with weaning experts and celebrity chefs isn't really real life, is it?

At first I loved her confidence as a new mum and thought it was great that she could say she was a brilliant mum, maybe she is - Baby Paul certainly looks very happy. But it all got a bit smug fast

I agree Paul looks like an easy baby. At one point she says he cries once in a blue moon (!) She'd get a shock if her second wasn't quite the same

A parenting book when your baby isn't even a year old? Ok...

Sam's worked since she left school so I do think she has good work ethic. But she's clearly not as business savvy as she thinks. Criticising the clothes Paul was wearing on the shoot, then saying she doesn't really like peanuts much when she's supposed to be the face of a peanut company?

Greg is a twat

I love the relationship Sam, Billie and their mum have together

Gaynor isn't that bad really. She clearly adores her grandson. Maybe I'd feel differently if she was my MIL though

If there's a second series I'm not sure I'd watch it

wowwee123 · 18/11/2016 22:28

i think a lot of it is advertising tbh. all the different classes. weaning with anabelle. etc.

great idea but i bet a lot of new mums would struggle to fit all that in.

i do think her and Paul have something special but he struggles with the cameras. If left to his own devices i'm sure he would propose but likely feels a lot of pressure to do it right.

i think the last ep was the most realistic showing her working and palming baby pail off with pegs. again not in a bad way but i guess doing what she can for a bit of normality for herself.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 18/11/2016 23:47

Gaynor's hair is beautiful!Shock

That tree top get away they went on for their anniversary is 15k a night apparently, I've just seen it on another programme!

Vixxfacee · 19/11/2016 12:03

I just watched the last episode.

Sam and Paul are complete airheads. They do not live in the real world. I think sam and Billie are obsessed with the kardashians.

I would like to know who pays for everything (I'm guessing Sam).

The mum pulling up her top when breastfeeding was weird.

Him passing the banana skin to her was outrageous.

I looked on rightmove the house wasn't up there.

Once again Sam is incredibly stupid. Gorgeous baby though.

Bertucci · 19/11/2016 18:55

Her miscomprehension about the wisdom of swimming with dolphins told us all we need to know about her level of intelligence.

They went to Chewton Glen for their anniversary. It is really expensive. We stayed in one of their tree houses for my birthday (thankfully before the episode was shown - who knows who's going there now Wink) and it was shockingly expensive. There was a lot of 'Product Placement' type promo - dh reckons they got it for free!

Vixxfacee · 19/11/2016 19:03

I think they get most of the things they do for free as promotion.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/11/2016 23:45

I've just looked up that tree house spa place and it's £2,100 per night. The programme I watched said their company arranged it all and it was £15k so I imagine they arrange super dooper flowers, food etc etc plus charge a fee .

8DaysAWeek · 20/11/2016 02:47

I totally understand there's a lot of product placement in these programmes but it negates from the premise of the show when it goes OTT imo

Veggiesupremeextracheese · 20/11/2016 17:39

Am I the only one that warmed to big Paul by the end of the series Grin

wowwee123 · 20/11/2016 18:40

nah i warmed to big paul too Blush

Cherrypie32 · 20/11/2016 18:40

I'm torn between thinking Sam has a few jobs in the pipeline in LA so that's why they are going or it's just something to put as a cliffhanger at the end of the show. I don't feel sorry for Billy. They used to dote on Nelly on TOWIE and this is Sam's show after all so it's going to be about baby Paul. Big Paul is too thick surely to have a successful business. Baby Paul is just gorgeous. You don't have to love a product to endorse it do you, it's just a job. I don't believe for one minute Holly Willoughby uses home hard dye products for instance.

OhFuds · 20/11/2016 18:42

I just can't forget how he treated Sam in the 1st series.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/11/2016 19:38

Yes me too " I know you're breastfeeding but why can't you make me brand on toast with the other hand?"
