Is anyone watching?
The mother in law is still weird!

OP posts:
OhFuds · 12/10/2016 22:19

I think it's his way of getting away from her family, I can imagine they'd always be popping in which I dont think he'd like. Her sister and her mum give off a vibe that they are only saying nice things about Paul so it looks good for Sam on tv after the bashing she got last time.

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 12/10/2016 22:21

ohfuds I thought that (only caught last ten mins)

I bet his mother is going with them...

cricketqueen · 12/10/2016 22:31

I'm watching it on +1. I still think he is a man child. His mother is the mil from hell, I bet she ends up in Surrey with them.
Sam is coming across very smug, 'I know I'm a good mum' 'I make good milk'. That's nice love.....
Paul is just dim (aduly Paul obv). He's seemingly a property developer but she is ringing estate agents etc.

PinkyOfPie · 12/10/2016 22:47

I'm v suspicious about he Surrey move. Who just points at a map and says "oh I'll live there". That's all Paul behind it!

I feel really sorry for Sam, Paul and his weird mum don't see her as a person but as a vessel and carer to carry St Paul's offspring. He's not interested in her in the least. Gaynor said "I love her, she's the mother of my grandson" (so not for her as an individual then) before referring to a 5 month old as her best friend. Red flags everywhere!

However baby Paul is insanely cute and I want to reach in the TV and smoosh his lovely little baby face Grin

avocadosweet · 12/10/2016 22:57

It's a very weird family set up. Sam's mum said she doesn't spend much time with the baby which is odd as Gaynor certainly does.

OhFuds · 12/10/2016 22:57

I just had a nosey at Billie's instagram and have realised her DD is called Nelly, all throughout that episode I thought she was called Lily Blush

mastersledge · 12/10/2016 23:13

Haha I thought she was saying lily but knew it was nelly.

Obviously sams family don't like Paul and he comes across as being quite controlling, bet he wants to mover her away from her family

CurtainsforRonnie · 13/10/2016 07:11

I think Gaynor will move in close to them.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 13/10/2016 12:27

Caught five minutes of this before slapping my face and changing the channel. Sam's not overburdened with brains but she's like an intellectual titan beside that boyfriend of hers.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 13/10/2016 12:27

Glad to hear the mother is as creepy as ever!

Vixxfacee · 13/10/2016 12:32

I just watched this.
The mil is weird. He's her best friend? The constant kissing the baby on the lips?
Paul and Sam both seem dim.
Sams family don't like him it appears. She seems like she's changed since she's met him.
Sam is very smug and I thought she was joking at some points for example she wants the baby to be fluent..in all languages.
She didn't know the presidents name before finally arriving at "Obamma".

I like Billie though.

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 13/10/2016 14:33

Ah well had to turn it off after ten mins in. Sam incredibly smug and could cope with the constant bigging up of 'big Paul'. When I caught the last 5 mins when she was holiday with her sister and mum she seemed much more relaxed - rather than 'big' pauls cheer leader and super breast feeding mum.

YoungBritishPissArtist · 13/10/2016 15:06

I've got horrible visions of Sam and Paul out in Surrey, Gaynor in the granny annexe, Sam being gradually undermined and gas lighted by "big" Paul and MIL, her mum and Billie discouraged from visiting.

Gaynor is just so intense. She makes me really uncomfortable.

BombayBonsai · 13/10/2016 15:10

I'm not really sure what the big deal is. Apart from the overbearing MIL that is.

They seemed like quite a happy wee family to me. I admit I didn't watch the baby diaries.

Veggiesupremeextracheese · 13/10/2016 16:52

I get the impression that Sam doesn't like her own child's name! She only ever called him "baby"!

DoesAnyoneReadTheseThings · 13/10/2016 16:59

It reminded me a bit of the book 'The little house'. I kept thinking if she wasn't 'a celebrity' and wasn't so close to her Mum and Billie, it would end up like that!

singymummy · 13/10/2016 17:06

him and his mother are just weirdos. Sam seems to have massively changed since being around them.

very smug attitudes and seem to think there the only ones to have had a baby before Hmm

PinkyOfPie · 13/10/2016 21:01

does that's exactly what I said Gaynor is the MIL from Little House (hoping she won't have the same ending though!)

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/10/2016 21:04

The HV made me laugh, and quite rightly made noises bout BF not being so easy for everyone.

The MIL is really, really bloody weird. Her voice is all whispery and husky and properly creepy.

All the inane smiling reminds me if The Duggars .

Beaniebeemer · 13/10/2016 22:02

The fact that she's got money is going to elevate some motherhood struggles but I cringe so much when people with 6 month old babies start banging on about having an army of children. Babies are easy love! She is smug but I do think that she is a natural mother again easy when you don't have other worries. Big Paul is odd as is his mother. I think it will all go tits up at some point.

vjg13 · 14/10/2016 07:52

It was all a bit creepy and smug and Sam seems a bit Stepford Wifey. No backstory as to why moving to Surrey was the plan, just a bit random and odd when she couldn't say which area!

At least the HV got in some sensible points.

CurtainsforRonnie · 14/10/2016 07:54

I think she should have married Joey Essex Sad

Thirtyrock39 · 14/10/2016 10:08

I think Sam came across really well and I think she's a fantastic advert for breastfeeding really normalised it and the blokes a bit of a plank but was really supportive of her breastfeeding. The mil would stifle me but good on Sam for being so positive about her
It was very idealistic but then you often are with your first baby it made me a bit sad remembering how magical that 6 months to a year is with your 1st and wanting lots of babies ...then reality kicks in as they got older and you have more babies !!

OhFuds · 14/10/2016 10:16

Bombay You need to watch the 1st baby diaries, when she was pregnant. everything Paul and his Mum did was controlling. Sam took a bashing on social media so itvbe are obviously making out Paul is a much nicer guy than what we 1st thought.

Only1scoop · 16/10/2016 20:07

Just watching, its all a bit cringe
