Last thread here.

All ready for tonight's episode Smile Glitterball

OP posts:
raisedbyguineapigs · 27/09/2016 21:19

Completely agree. Talk of modesty and appropriateness rather than personalising the choice to her sounds judgey towards other women. So Lesley and Naga shouldn't dress in sparkly dresses while doing a latin routine, because it's inappropriate. She is trying to disguise her lack of confidence.

Freshprincess · 27/09/2016 21:24

I've completely forgotten about ITT. I'm such a bad fan. I'm off to watch.

Lightening the mood, who is your Strictly Partner

I got Joanne Hmm. I'm off to do the quiz again a million times till I get Alijz or Pasha.

ppeatfruit · 27/09/2016 22:01

I don't think her dancing showed a lack of confidence at all. She was rather good.

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/09/2016 22:07

Yuck I got Brendan

DiegeticMuch · 27/09/2016 23:14

I got Alijz. Fish and chips, Latin, happy, football, and the pizza emoji are what you need Freshprincess :-)

TimTamTerrier · 27/09/2016 23:18

Damn it, it won't let me do the quiz as I'm not in the UK. Even though I've set my virtual thingy to make it look like I'm in the UK.

I would normally choose Aljaz, but this year I quite like the style of Gorka.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2016 10:06

Tim Tam Me too Blush (about the virtual thingy) (Not Gorka, he's a baby) Grin cute though Grin

LyndaNotLinda · 28/09/2016 10:10

I got Gorka (spicy, latin, happy, nothing and smiley emoji to win!)

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 10:13

Louise can wear whatever she likes but talk of 'appropriateness' suggests that she (or her husband) feel that some women are inappropriate.

I agree with this. I am a bit uncomfortable with the idea of judging what women wear, especially in the current climate of burkini bans, but the key really is WHO is deciding what she can and can't wear and why.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 10:14

PS Gorka's my Strictly partner I'm pretty sure I could be his mum

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2016 10:20

IMO Louise was dressed better than poor Lesley J. who looked like she was wearing something the wardrobe department had earmarked for the charity shops, the colour was vile, Shock I'm all for recycling and re using but they could have made it fit her properly Hmm

TimTamTerrier · 28/09/2016 11:41

The thing about Louise's clothes so far is that they could be modest and covering without being so baggy. The sailor outfit wasn't too bad, it moved well once she started dancing, but it didn't need to have such full, flappy sleeves. The dress that she wore at the opening show really looked like it was a couple of sizes too big for her, it was very heavy material and she looked swamped in it. I've had a look for recent photos of her and she wears some lovely outfits to film premier type occasions that are both modest and well fitting.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2016 11:45

Louise was nicely dressed last night. In ST2 she wore a tight semi metallic material blouse or dress? I wasn't sure. I didn't catch the whole programme.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 12:01

I think it was a shirt under a leather jacket. She DID look good, and it was fitted but not in any way 'inappropriate' (whatever that means).

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2016 16:10

True Sapphire I like the fashions on SCD usually (barring the weird things sometimes worn by Tess, oh and the ridiculously high heels some of them wear , I noticed that Zoe was wearing much better heels yesterday).

Grin, I like the variety , I reckon Darcey is definitely the best dressed woman on it by a long way.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 16:24

Darcey always looks amazing: clothes, hair, nails, make-up...

I thought Zoe's heels were a bit more sensible too. Still several inches higher than I could walk in, mind. Grin

digerd · 28/09/2016 19:43

Melvin has a lot of improving to do with his Tango if he is not going home this weekSad.
Daisy and Ore looked good with their dances. Smile

from IT2 Wed.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 28/09/2016 20:06

Agreed. Melvin looked a bit like Julien McDonald (though I still refuse to hate that tango! Grin).
Greg also looked very stompy but that will be overlooked, same as his missing kicksnflicks were (don't care, love Nat).
Oti and Danny will be high scorers, based on music choices alone.

ppeatfruit · 29/09/2016 09:46

So I realise I got Gorka wrong now, he's the new Spanish hottie. There's another new man who really does look about 10 Grin. There are so many new ones now I can't remember his name.

I liked the EE actress on SCD yesterday she's got plenty of character.

And Judge Rinder seemed to appreciate the gifts of his partner!!! He's great! My DM is only watching SCD because she's hooked on him his show !

TimTamTerrier · 29/09/2016 13:38

You're thinking of AJ ppeatfruit, the one who had to pretend to be amused when Claudia handed him a toddler toy during the after-dance-pre-scores interview bit.

ChickenSalad · 29/09/2016 13:48

Louise reminded me slightly of Jill Halfpenny, I loved her dance. I liked her outfit on Saturday, it was cute and fitted the dance.

I'm sure it is just her body confidence or lack of talking re the dress. I hope it isn't coming from Jamie. Let's see her in a few weeks when she has inhaled more fake tan and body glitter. I'm bigger than her though more of a muscly shape and bigger boobs- I'd let them strap me into whatever holding devices the wardrobe department could offer.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 29/09/2016 16:20

Me too. I would also need full boob scaffolding. I could then be paired with bambi Pro español scorchio. GorksnNorks.
Actually I would just ask at the start: can you give me all Sunetra's dresses one size up in a different colour. Wink

digerd · 29/09/2016 19:11

Daisy looked very good in her cha cha training on IT2 just now. Will also in his jive.

I love that "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" cha cha music but forgotten who is doing it.?

ChessieFL · 29/09/2016 19:14

Isn't it Lesley and Anton?

MsInterpret · 29/09/2016 20:34

Yep, Lesley and Anton.

Not a dancer at all but when I first heard it, I assumed it would be a tango. Guess it just seems slow for a Cha Cha Cha.
