Darcy looked enchanting and so did Natalie. It was a beautiful and romantic slow Waltz that all ages and abilities can do and enjoy.

I was trying to think of who Will Young with a beard reminds me. It's Oliver Reed.

Will Young is beautiful. I voted for him 7 times to win Pop Idol and have never watched another series of that tripe since, so I feel that he's a little bit 'mine'.

I so want him to do well in this. But I fear he may not...

I wish we had somehow had more shots of the opening waltz so I could have seen everyone!

Daisy is famous as a model for not being a size 0 and has done well not to do a Sophie Dahl imo.

Don't know WY at all but knew he reminded me of someone.

Oliver Reed was far more attractive. Will Young has a touch of the diva about him. Last time he appeared in a play in Manchester, he refused to sign autographs or chat to any fans.There's no warmth there.

Camping this weekend so speed watched both shows tonight (much prefer fast forwarding through judges comments and Tess!)

I really lust after Brendan - he makes me feel all peculiar and I adore watching him dance! The bit at the beginning where he grabbed Anastacia - oooh That said, I couldn't believe the 8 from Craig.. astounding!

I don't really mind a ringer and really enjoyed Danny, mainly for Oti though who is fantastic - those legs!!

I liked Greg and Judge too - for quite different reasons - and agree that this year is the first in a while where the lineup is genuinely exciting!

I really must become famous somehow so I can get on this show... I have no discernable talents although so make good tea and excellent marmite on toast!

Either that 8 was a slip of the finger on the scoring or Craig must really really want Anastacia on tour

I know it's a dreadful stereotype but Anastacia is a classic gay icon: she's a glamorous, feisty woman who has overcome adversity with her spirit intact. I imagine Craig has a huge soft spot for her. I thought Darcy was going to cringe herself inside out at Len's Rocky Mountains pervy comment.

I only caught up with Friday's show last night as was like this all the way through Judge Rinder's dance .

I didn't understand that Rocky Mountains 'joke' from Len but it did sound a little crude. I was fascinated in a strange way watching Anastacia. More so than The Judge.

I took Len's "joke" (which I thought to be in bad taste) was a reference to the fact that Anastacia nearly popped out of her dress when she bent over backwards.

I'm sure as she walked back to Tess she was pulling her top up and Brendan said something like "Don't worry, they're still in."

There was an old film on with Oliver Reed and a very young Hayley Mills in it recently . The make up dept. couldn't hide his alcoholic flush even then (it was a bizarre film but interesting for it's social history )

Digerd If they repeated some more open dances like that one I would be very happy (and weepy like you) too .

Talking of Oliver Reed, one of my favourite books is about him, Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton and Richard Harris it had me laughing out loud at their exploits. Oliver Reed is a tour de force as Bill Sykes in Oliver.

I thought Len's joke was in very poor taste, it reminds me of something he said to Claire King when she danced with Brendan which was really awful.

What about Len calling Claudia Fragapane 'a a nice little girl'? Sexist old gimmer - she's an Olympic medal winning athlete and a woman!! FFS. And then Winkelman giving Claudia's partner a baby toy was just as bad. Cringe.

Do younger celebs (like Claudia's partner) get more help with choreography than older hands? Does anyone know?

cocktail , I had that very conversation with my daughter about whether that young chap will get help with the choreography , I think he needs it ! We wind through all the Claudia bits except the scores as I cannot stand the woman , infact this is the first Strictly I've watched for years and I'm only watching because I like Will and Greg , can't stand the presenters .

"Don't worry, they're still in." I didn't hear that, but it's quite funny. I like Anastacia so far and enjoyed her filthy dance as much as Craig did.

I didn't know Danny Mac had been in Wicked. What a ringer.

I liked Greg more than I thought I would, but there were a few shots of him frowning in the background in Claudia's sections when everyone else was grinning/cheering the others on. I may be reading too much in, I know.

Judge Rinder made me feel ill.

Ed B was quite sweet.

Lesley Joseph is beautiful and a class act, but she won't last all that long.

The Irish TV presenter (can't remember her name) was dull.

Will Young is fucking annoying and why does he dress like a weird toddler for training? I continue to adore Karen though.

Tameka is HILARIOUS and I think she's going to eat that poor young man she's partnered with alive. I'd love to go out on the razz with her and Claudia.

I liked Daisy Lowe. I've always liked that she's a model but has some meat on her bones. Her dance was a bit overmarked IMO; I thought her top line was suspect at times. Nice couple though.

Can't really remember anyone else. Bit overwhelming for the first couple of shows; there's so many of them!

ppeatfruit - their exploits were legendary but, yes, I seem to recall that Keith outdid even Oliver for debauchery which is quite some feat! It might have been the weekend when the car was driven into the swimming pool.

Len's patronising comment to Claudia and his crass comment to Anastacia made me quite glad that he's leaving the show. He's always been my least favourite judge anyway. His recent TV adverts for a very cheap food brand were a bit odd, too.
