First week and no one under 20. The judges overmarked, but I think everyone is really good and it's going to be a great season.

I almost couldn't bear to watch his interview with Claudia!

Hmmm: quite liked Karen and Will. But so distracted by those trousers.

Right. All the slebs are Quite Good this year. Which means it's the choreography which will play a bigger factor.

I agree that Ed wasn't the worst dancer. Based on tonight I think Melvin deserves to leave first but I guess we'll have to see how they all do in their second dance. Is next week the usual Saturday show and Sunday results?

Just to lower the tone a bit... What are our opinions on Gorka the corker, and is he a good enough replacement for Gleb?

The men' wore "any old thing" when they should have been in costume.
Ore wearing a checked shirt like a cowboy and trousers looking like baggy horse-riding trousers and drainpipes for the tango just didn't look right at all.
Melvin looked dressed in pyjamas which showed nothing of his hips.
The male celebs should be dressed like the pro males.

Just checked my IT2 TV page and we have 60 of them with Zoe from 6.30-7pm Mon-Fri - yey!

Impressed by how high the standard is this year. The scoring was crazy high though. 8 from Craig in week 1!

Well I enjoyed all that even though filmon was touch and go.
Was upset Melvin was so bad. Am beginning to think Janette can't teach.
Also disappointed by Tameka.
Liked Will very much. Good to see Karen free to dance.
The scoring has been all over the place.
I hope Louise looks at the footage and realises flouncy is not flattering.
Out of all the routines, the ones I am rewatching are Judge, Ore, Will, Danny, Anastacia.
I like Ed Balls but am freaked out by his likeness to Freddy Starr meets Ray Liotta in the eye department.

Bloody hell Kimmy you nailed it, that's all I'll see now I do think he was unfairly scored though, and he was so nervous, poor chap, I hope Melvin goes before him.

Just in the process of catching up due to putting DD to bed. Lots of over marking going on, but hello Danny! Methinks he's hankering for a career in the West End and this is his audition!

I immediate thought of musicals also. it was one of my favourite dances.

I knew I could count on you all for some sense - that was crazy high marking wasn't it?
I thought Louise and KFGs jive was rrrrrrrrrubbish, but perhaps that was just the KFGs trademark frenetic style in action again.

Daisy did marvellously i thought - I'm sure I saw plenty of heel leads in there. I think she is too 'big' and sultry of figure for that dress though - and it was an awful colour.

Tameka is waaaaay to full on for me. As is Anastasia.
Thought AJ was a good sport with the fisher price toys but I'm wondering if he's got enough experience to be a good teacher?

Sadly disappointed by Melvin.
Shocked by Daisy and Greg both of whom I thought were going to be classic examples of fit, young gorgeous celebs who dance like a Tesco bag full of coathangers (cf Kirsty Gallagher, Victoria Pendleton, Iwan thingy, Mark Foster). But no, they can actually more or less dance! Greg can't actually jive, but what he was doing bore a noticeable resemblance to a dance of some sort.

I love Ore so I do hope that Joanne gets a grip with her choreography.

I do wonder if the Pros get told they have to do things a certain way - i.e. Jo has to be "quirky", Anton has to be "funny", etc.

Lots of potential this year though and no one was shockingly awful.

Ed is a decent chap. Not a dancer, but not a bad man. But I suspect he'll be first to go unless he gets the Jeremy Vine effect and gets to stay in for laughs for a few weeks.

Danny Mac went to Arts Educational, Louise went to Italia Conti - that's likely to have involved dance training of some kind for quite a few years...

Re the comment about Darcy's hair looking a bit unwashed - I was pondering her hair, because I think tonights was filmed on the same night as last night's show, right? If so, Darcy's hair was in an up do last night, so has been quickly transformed into a half up half down do, hence it looking a bit stiff.

I don't buy Louise's excuse for her frumpy outfit being that she'd promised not to embarrass her family.

Yes, I get that she might not want to go too raunchy for the sake of her kids - but methinks that perhaps she's a bit body conscious and that's the reason that she's not showing off too much flesh. I mean you can look elegant without looking trashy.

Just watched the recap at the end. Awww Will Young - I adore him, but he's not as good as I'd hoped.

Oh and Daisy totally fancies Alijaz. If they're not shagging by the end it won't be through lack of trying.

That Danny Mac's a right sizzler! I was prepared to find Ed Balls embarrassing but I thought it was rather touching in the end.

Some truly hideous trousers too. I think Louise Redknapp has always worn trousers as her legs are not her best feature.

Daisy Lowe is a big girl isn't she? She's always described as a model but probably more of an it girl. The dance was lovely though and her partner was a bit of all right. Naga is stunningly beautiful.

My first time for watching SCD, really enjoyed it. Loved the opening scene when they all danced.
