The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

Watched the first episode last night but found it bit boring and slow. I hope episode 2 is better.

Stupid BBC have put the fecking Apprentice on AT THE SAME BLOODY TIME! DH will want to watch that because you will find out who got fired all over the telly on Friday. Bastards (I'm a bit annoyed Angry )

Lottapianos · 05/10/2016 21:07

I saw the Apprentice trailer earlier and thought what a stupid clash it was! I can't not watch Gillian but I can't not watch The Apprentice either #thestruggleisreal

atomicpanda · 05/10/2016 21:15

The apprentice will be on the iplayer. I'm watching The Fall.

OlennasWimple · 06/10/2016 20:37

I've just caught up with the first episode. Thoughts in no particular order!

  • too much blood and gore on the operating table - it's almost as if they have responded to the criticism of the violence perpetrated against women in the first two series by filling the screen with Spector's blood
  • Stella clearly asked for a police guard to be put outside Spector's room - the doctor said it wasn't necessary, but didn't actually say she couldn't do it. Why is there no one there?
  • nurse is clearly a goner, she is completely his type...
  • Merlin is hot Blush but a drama queen (career over? That's not what the doc said)
  • Katie is annoying, and is surely about to embark on a copy cat spree (though she is small and slight, so not sure how that will work)
  • the daughter should have been played by a younger actress as it now seems like she's grown up overnight, and her comprehension of what has been happening with her family will now be all out of kilter
  • I'm struggling to see how this will fill a whole series - the first episode could have been squished into 40 minutes, with less OR stuff
  • it's disconcerting seeing Richard Coyle being competent and in charge, when in Coupling he is an eejit!

Looking forward to the second episode!

Oblomov16 · 06/10/2016 21:20

OMFG I have just watched episode 1.
Gillian when she was taking to the husband, was beyond superb.

Brontebiscuits · 06/10/2016 21:32

What's going on with the nurse?!

And is Spector faking?

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 06/10/2016 21:56

He and Livvy's relationship has always been presented rather strangely

Im sure he is faking.
Why isn't he handcuffed to the bloody bed?

I suppose a genuine loss of memory would put an interesting spin on it?

Yeah poor nurse, she never seems to get a break. The constant fussing over his head position!!

Cherrypie32 · 06/10/2016 22:05

The fussing really got in my nerves. Would all those people be allowed to wander in and out of ICU, and I'm not bloody surprised Rose discharged herself. Why would she be left in a bed across the way from the man who abducted her? Anyway, it's not real...it's brilliant!

flightywoman · 06/10/2016 22:12

I was wondering whether he was faking...

BitOutOfPractice · 06/10/2016 22:14

Crikey it's very slow isn't it?

EmilyDickinson · 06/10/2016 22:14

Would a suspected serial killer really be treated so casually and sympathetically by hospital staff? The bit in episode one where the consultant didn't seem that interested in who Specter was didn't ring true. Surely it's the equivalent of the Yorkshire Ripper being brought into a local hospital at the height of the killings. Whilst I'm sure medical staff would be professional there's no chance, surely that there wouldn't be huge interest, a morbid kind of excitement and a certain apprehension about having him in the hospital. I'm sure other people would know more about police procedure but I too was surprised that he wasn't handcuffed to the side of the bed, that there wasn't a police presence in the room and that he was tended by a lone, female nurse.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/10/2016 22:15

The nurse very much looks his "type" doesn't she. Quite a few of the victims had dark hair and eyes and a fringe like that and looked like the nurse.
