The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

Should don't need to get so defensive about my analysis!! I'm not saying people only buy flowers for themselves because they're lonely. I'm just saying it all fits together with Stella's character as she pins up the nurse's message about he who does not love is in death because I think it resonates with her situation- lots of one night stands, doesn't let lovers or colleagues get too close, father issues, lonely stressful job where she has to 'wear a mask' as Spector suggests. Don't gang up on me for analysing her character's loneliness please! I didn't write it but I do have my own interpretation even if you disagree.

I got the idea that we were supposed to feel she was lonely too. I don't think that means all those that but flowers are filling a gap - but the character of Stella may very well be.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 06/11/2016 07:40

I felt the conversation with the doctor whilst she was in hospital revealed that she didn't consider herself lonely at all. I think the significance of her pinning up the quote is that she does "live in love" unlike Spector. It's not in a traditional sense, maybe it's love for her job, justice, whatever - she doesn't seem to have any need to saddle herself with a relationship but is quite happy to satisfy her sexual needs without getting emotionally attached.

SapphireStrange · 06/11/2016 17:23

I agree with Ginger, although I'd put the emphasis on the fact that Spector didn't live in love rather than that Stella does.

Who does she love? I think maybe then she's not lonely just solitary. Even her swimming passion is a solitary one. It's her preference but also a mask.
