The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

I agree that the lingering shots of the nurse were meant to indicate she could be his next victim. But the part where she stroked his face after taking the tape off his eyes was odd. But then there's lots of that in this programme!
I do wonder if Merlin's (can't remember his character's name) lines about her being 'anguished' were because of comments that viewers made after the last season finale. Her relationship with Spector is slightly off, cradling him in her arms like that is just wrong.
And I liked Stella's comments to Rose's husband. She does actually show a lot of empathy and compassion as a character despite her hard exterior.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/09/2016 23:25

Who shot Spector? We watched the catch up but still couldn't remember!!

Griphook · 29/09/2016 23:51

I think he was shot by the husband who was abusing his wife, who Paul was cancelling because their child died from meningitis.

What happened to Sally Anne's baby's I missed some, and remember she was bleeding while being interviewed

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/09/2016 23:53

Ah right,thanks.

I thought she lost the baby.

JacquettaWoodville · 30/09/2016 02:32

I think she is an experienced rape "counsellor" via her work

Bookaboo · 30/09/2016 08:12

I agree it was really slow. It felt more like I was watching a gory episode of casualty.

Didn't the nurse near the end look like someone he'd encountered before?

BakeOffBiscuits · 30/09/2016 08:35

I think Stella and Spector are both fascinated and obsessed with each other, but obviously for very different reasons.

JacquettaWoodville · 30/09/2016 08:36

She looked a lot like the victims, rose stagg in particular. I had this trouble previously when he started stalking one victim, I thought it was someone he'd killed before!

Hope there's not too much about that teenage girl (Katie?)

Oh good grief is she going to try to get him out of hospital?

No, that's just daft, isn't it?

I wish that they'd moved to another case by now tbh.

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 30/09/2016 09:31

I might have to re-watch to fast forward to all the shots of JD pick up all the little nuances I missed last night.

mouldycheesefan · 30/09/2016 09:36

The endless medical stuff was a bit dull. Like watching casualty. I went and loaded the dishwasher and made a cuppa.

Sad to say I spent most of the episode getting irritated with Stella - she was flitting between patients still in her bloody top (couldn't she just button her jacket to hide it?) and without having washed her bloody hands (cross-contamination? We know that Rose hadn't yet had a rape exam). Her fixation with Spector now appears to have crossed the line and become unprofessional, IMO. And no amount of silky shirts and swishy hair detract from the meaningful staring into the distance a la Amanda Burton in Silent Witness! Grrr...

Poor little Olivia (?) seeing that news item on her mum's laptop. Poor Tom feeling so guilty about being unaware of Rose's abduction. Poor handsome young cop who's arm hurts and now knows where he figures in Stella's affections.

The nurse we all agree looks exactly Spector's type is Aisling Bee - I knew I'd seen her before!

I spent most of the episode wanting to punch the prima donna A&E consultant.

And yy to the deserted ITU - IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

And (am on a roll now) no one intubated and ventilated would 'wake up' in the stealthy way Spector did.

Still, he can't get up to much just yet - the surgeons have left him with a gaping hole in his abdomen until they take him back for further surgery - if he tries to get out of bed his innards are going to fall out.

AnyFucker · 30/09/2016 10:04

That was the most boring thing I have ever watched.

People like this stuff ?

I note they made an effort to get the medical terms very precise and correct but fuck it was shite.

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 30/09/2016 10:20

I didn't find it shite, I felt like they were building tension. I was tense anyway.

Maudlinmaud · 30/09/2016 10:21

It can only get better. I know someone who saw them filming on location and it sounded great. So Im hopeful.

Cherrypie32 · 30/09/2016 10:43

I don't think the brunette nurse stroked his face, it was the redhead nurse who took him up to ICU wasn't it? She was the one who then questioned the morality of providing care to a serial killer. I don't think it was relevant to the plot. He physically can't get up and start a killing spree so his influence will be more subtle than that. I didn't enjoy Stella's monologue to Rose's husband, I found it too contrived.

Anne63 · 30/09/2016 10:46

Love it, love it, love it!

There is something in Stella's background that makes her as she is.
Could it be a mother issue?
Spector has a mother issue I think.
The A&E scenes were far too slow.
I thought Stella's talking with Rose's husband and how she may feel was very good. Even my usually quiet dh commented.

Def just a bit too much of the whole medical thing, realise they are scene setting in the hospital, etc, but really we didn't quite need that much medical "padding".

That said, we were super tense holding our breath at the end!

Yes, who shot Paul?
